i think Final Fantasy XIII-2 having a shitty port on steam was a blessing in disguise.. i mean, sure i was unable to play it and had to get it refunded, but after reading the plot of it cause i got like more than 5 people telling me i shouldnt (including people who adore XIII).. and i read the plot.. and damn, they really messed up XIII’s ending.. like it tried to be madoka magica or chrono trigger but failed so bad… i cant believe Square Enix would really mess that perfect story up..

basically.. if you’re just playing for gameplay, play XIII-2 and LR.. you can ignore XIII since those two stand alone as a different story from XIII and you can just have the mindset that XIII was set in history books.. since the gameplay of the sequels improved..

BUT TBH, XIII’s story is so good.. like sure it has a slow beginning but chapter 7 onwards will get you drawn in. and if you dont mind linearity, it’s a really good game with the BEST BATTLE SYSTEM

but yeah.. now after reading the plot of both XIII-2 and LR (out of boredom).. Final Fantasy XIII’s story is really the superiour one out of the trilogy

Time is our greatest obsession. Who has not dreamed of returning to the past, of changing the future? Imagine the power. To see how our choices affect our lives, and then return to undo them. Endless possibilities. Imagine the freedom to cross time and journey through the ages. The freedom to change the past, and bend history to your will. What would you do if you had that power? Could you eradicate the mistakes of history, and build a perfect future? Or would you be subject to fate, and be swept down the river of time… …powerless to change your course?

I was just like you.
My parents died.
I had to be strong for Serah so I thought I needed to forget my past.
And I became Lightning.
I thought that by changing my name, I could change who I was.
I was just a kid…
