I don’t know if ya’ll noticed, but during the interview at the Apple concert thingy, some guy in the back yelled “Oppa” to them and a few people laughed. Funny right? Nah, because the boys were visibly uncomfortable. Especially Mark, Johnny, and Doyoung. Jaehyun and Yuta just smiled nervously kinda like ?? I know some of you people love to say random Korean words for whatever reason here on the internet.. Just PLEASE don’t do that in person, directly to idols! It’s annoying and cringy af like, I can only tolerate Koreaboos so much… Just Stop.
At the event this dude was saying “Oppa Mark!” too and Mark kept looking straight ahead. He was obviously freaked out cause the dude sounded like a grown ass man and Mark is literally 17 (In Western Countries). At least, that time some people in the crowd told him to shut up.. Doyoung turned around to look at the guy, all wide eyed and probably wanted to say something (ya’ll know how protective he is over the younger members).
You weirdos need to really stop, it’s sad because these idols can’t even say anything back. They are kind of forced to be nice and to keep their mouth shut or else they’ll be labeled as rude. So, taking advantage of that is even more low.
i appreciate the fact that she’s probably one of the only black youtubers in korea that i’ve seen that have discussed this issue in depth. especially since the majority of her videos are humorous. i linked the whole video below! https://youtu.be/hFt6DchO-Z8
ENGLISH MUSIC FROM KPOP IDOLS IS A PRIVILEGE NOT A REQUIREMENT POINT. BLANK. PERIOD. I was scrolling through my dashboard and someone said something about the WDTA pt2 and how “Finally making international fans feel appreciated and apart of something.” I understand where you’re coming from completely they’re grateful for the music they’re not being greedy. It was the comments that were pissing me off “(inserts kpop group) doesn’t appreciate internationals because they never come out with english music…………
First of all BTS has CONFIRMED they will not be making a American debut so anybody getting hype can settle down right now. Second, my thing is SOOOOOO MANY American artists have fans all over the world and make #1s in their countries but YET THEY DONT MAKE MUSIC IN THEIR LANGUAGES. Stop acting like you’re the only fans who have to go through language barriers not only that y’all ignore the fact that it could be non-english speakers listening to kpop yet they don’t get music in their languages either. As an American I feel for Europe at first I was like “Stop all the fucking complaining” but looking at it now you can clearly see where the line is divided between fans who speak english and then non-english fans. I’m forever seeing English speaking fans complain about not being appreciated or feeling unwanted about not getting english music but when they do get covers, full blown interviews WHAT ABOUT EVERYONE ELSE!!!! Y’all stay silent about non-english speakers but act like the world is about to end if your ‘oppa’ doesnt fucking talk in english.
Let me give you some examples….
Kim Namjoon self taught himself English and is able to interact with english fans.
Ariana Grande learned some Japanese for her Japanese fans so she could interact with them.
Plenty of native speakers in english
Here’s my favorite example my friend is from Germany she likes the singer Madison beer so she learned an entire language by watching Pretty little liars and not only was she able to understand Madison she got to personally skype her. (bustinghateonmb) on instagram
Why tf cant yall do that??????
“Korean is too hard”
“It’s easier to learn english”
Why do people expect idols to learn entire languages for them if they cant even attempt to do the same. Not only that why would KPOP IDOLS whose intentions were to sing and rap in KOREAN adapt to your standards just because you decided to listen to kpop when nobody forced you to.
Here’s my favorite part
“(Insert ‘american’ artist/rapper) is trash1!!1!1 they don’t ever sing/rap about anything meaningful.”
“I only listen to Kpop now”
“Dont compare my 'oppas’ to American trash”
First off about 70% of you don’t understand those meaningful lyrics until someone translates it. (For the dumbasses that forgot 'hip-hop’ in kpop got a lot of inspiration from Western rappers )
Second why do you want your favs to get Western attention even though you claim to hate Western music????
Because it benefits you…..
I don’t listen non Kpop music as much as I used to but if one of my old favs drops an album Im going to listen. I just don’t understand why you want kpop to be recognized in America if you had the music industry so damn much.
“Because it’ll help their careers!!”
So are you saying they couldn’t be successful without it?
Are you implying that everyone needs to Americanize things to stay relevant???
I just don’t understand, at this point its not about making their careers 'big’ because maybe America isn’t the most important thing in the world to them but it is to you because it’ll benefit you seeing them speak and sing in English.
I hate being an international fan. I’m always confused. Like what schedule are they doing right now? What music show are they on today? Where are they? What time is it? What day is it?? What are they saying?? Why are they laughing??? Why do they hurt me like this???! How did they manage to take over my whole damn life??!!
Okay. Recently on YouTube, instagtam and tumblr I have been seeing a lot of hate on western fans. I am not saying we aren’t guilty. But what I don’t like is when I see rants that say ‘this is because of the international fans’ or that this would have never happened if they never went to America or so and so. I can say that I am a black British fan and I have never sent any hate, never posted anything sexual/inappropriate on any of my bias social media and I treat them with respect. Most of European fans will never even get the chance to see their bias live , so to have some of the Korean fans automatically blaming western fans for every bad thing that happens is , what I feel like unfair. It’s that small 5% of fans that do stuff to upset our idols not just western fans. That small 5% can contain Korean, Japanese , American, British, ANY FAN TO BE CLEAR. so please stop automatically going to attack western fans for anything bad that happens , because 1) it’s unfair and 2) you guys are taking away more of the chance of that certain bias to come visit western countries.
Thank you for reading this I just really wanted to get this point across because I feel as if recently international fans have been getting so much more hate than Korean/Chinese fans. Let’s all just love each other , be respectful and love our idols in peace Kay?
AND JUST IN CASE YOU DONT GET IT. SASEANGS CAN COME FROM ANY COUNTRY AT ANY AGE AT ANY GENDER. DONT JUST ASSUME IT HAS TO BE A CERTAIN TYPE
Im so tired of this happening every time an idol fucks up.
1: your not black so your opinion on his hair doesn’t matter.
2: if black kpop fans are upset let them be. It doesn’t concern you so keep it pushing.
3: the company may be at fault in some cases.
4: stop treating korea like it’s a fucking no mans land. They got computers. Koreans aren’t shut off from the world around them.
5: you know damn well that they aren’t trying to recreate greek/ Scottish matted hair.
6 : if you are a black kpop fan and is not offend and is mad that others are refer back to number 2.
7: to go with number 4, stop treating idols like they ain’t grow men/ women.
8: shut the fuck up and log out if you don’t want to see “angry black people” calling out your faves on their stupid things.
9: saying that “well_____wasn’t called out why are they?!?!” Without looking up the others that have been called out ( which is all Of them) shows you don’t care you just want your idol to not be held accountable.
10: calling someone out and telling them to leave the group is 2 totally different things. Don’t send hate.
11: just stay the fuck in your lane.
12: saying it’s just hair bullshit will get you blocked
*im not agreeing with people who don’t think it was a mistake he looked not his best.
* I will still stan nini ( just like I’m doing Jackson , which in my way is staying the fuck away from him) after this but sadly this had to be said for all of you headass (non black/coon) people in the kpop world.
