bookish asks

thank you for tagging me, @guineverependragon!

1) Do you have a certain place at home for reading?

yes - my corner of the sofa, by the window

2) Bookmark or random piece of paper?

I can never find my bookmarks when I need them, so random paper

3) Can you just stop reading or do you have to stop after a chapter/ a certain number of pages?

Oh I really like to get to the end of a chapter if I can!

4) Do you eat or drink while reading?

I like making myself a cup of tea but I usually forget about it and it gets cold.

5) Music or TV while reading?

Music is too distracting - I’ll just analyze the music instead of reading. But I do like TV while reading - I read during the commercials. I don’t understand this habit myself, but it’s genetic in I guess - my librarian grandpa used to do the same thing: six books open while watching the news or lawrence welk.

6) Reading at home or everywhere?

home is my favorite but there is no bad place to read!

7) Reading out loud or silently in your head?

silently! though I like listening to other people read out loud.

8) Do you read ahead or even skip pages?

don’t judge me, but psychological suspense bugs me, so I’ll sometimes read the end of a suspenseful book early. I like learning how the end came about, more than just learning the end. In fact, I usually enjoy a book more the second or third time around!

9) Breaking the spine or keeping it like new?

I only commit this semi-atrocity on music scores I’m trying to play from at the piano. (Why can’t all scores be spiral-bound?)

10) Do you write in your books?

nope! Again, except for music scores.
