What a difference 34 years makes Alternating pics of BMW 525e (E28Series), 1983 and BMW 530e (G30Series), 2017. The 525E was an early example of BMW’s Efficient Dynamics, it used a low-revving 2.7 litre 6 cylinder engine which was tuned for economy rather than performance. The new 530e iPerformance saloon is a plug-in hybrid which combines an electric motor with a 2.0 4 cylinder engine

: Huntington G30.

Sometimes a little guitar oddity catches our attention. Low-end manufacturer Huntington has a 30" kids guitar with a single coil pickup, 22 frets, rainbow colors, and a speaker built in to the body. This has been done before, and while this guitar straddles the line between real instrument and toy, it has potential. For only $60 or so, it seems ripe for more modifications, boondockers, and beach parties than full-size guitars that you’d actually worry about ruining.

Kids Jaman Now

3. Jangan keluyuran, kelayapan

Saya tahu, sebagian kids jaman now itu suka keluyuran. Naik motor bahkan belum punya SIM, nongkrong di flyover, ngebut2an berasa sudah kayak Valentino Rossi, padahal aslinya cuma Ujang. Rossi itu yang nyium tanah dengkulnya. Lah, kids jaman now, yg nyium tanah malah pipi dan jidatnya. Aduh. Berhenti. Sana Ujang, pulang, bantu Mamaknya dirumah angkat jemuran kasur. Itu kasur bahkan bekas ngompolmu semalam.

4. Tidak perlu pacaran

Ampun dah. Itu sangat over sekali. Super-duper over. Kita kira itu keren? Kagak. Kita kira itu tanda hebat? Kagak. Kita sih sudah merasa paling oke sedunia, tapi justeru orang sedunia lihatnya aneh sekali. Lagian, nanti pas putus, langsung deh lebay banget di media sosialnya. Seolah besok kiamat, hidupnya nelangsa tak terkira. Tidak perlu pacaran itu.

5. Mulailah tahu tanggung-jawab kalian

Jangankan kids jaman now, yang kids jaman old saja banyak yang menyepelekan agama.

10. Terakhir, milikilah teman yang oke

Kids jaman now, penting sekali kalian punya teman2 yang baik.

Demikian.

Buku Favorit

Beberapa orang bertanya, buku-buku yang menurut saya recomended apa ya? Hehe sebenarnya saya gak update soal dunia perbukuan. Walaupun saya gila membaca.

Which is, Pram memang kelasnya memang sudah dunia.

2. MADILOG. Karya Tan Malaka. Belum selesai baca. Tapi pasti keren. Dan kalau dibawa-bawa, gw merasa jadi cewek paling kece se stasiun. Hehehehe.

3. Serial Senopati Pamungkas. Terbitan baru kalo ga salah ada 5 buku tebal. Terbitan lama mah 27 buku kecil-kecil.

Hahaha. Yang ditulis bervariasi. Bisa serius, bisa agak nyeleneh, bisa modern. Tapi walaupun beberapa sejarawan mengomentari bukunya dengan agak negatif, sebenarnya beliau serius mengerjakan bukunya, hingga konsultasi ke ahli strategi TNI segala. Justru untuk detail-detail sederhana beliau suka lalai. Misalnya sudah ada nanas di jaman Majapahit. Plis deh Pak.

5. Falsafah Hidup. Karya Buya Hamka. Buku filsuf.

7. Alchemist. Karya Paulo Coelho. Kayaknya semua orang tahu ini lah ya.

8. Rurouni Kenshin (komik). Karya Nobuhiro Watsuki. Kekekekekk…cinta mati sama Kenshin dan Sanosuke pokoknya.

9. Lupus. Karya Hilman.

11. Bonus : Lapis-lapis Keberkahan karya Salim A. Fillah. Awesome book. berat euy.

O iya satu lagi, Diorama Sepasang Al Banna karya Ari Nur.

Kata seorang sahabat, kini bukan saatnya lagi kita baca buku-buku ringan.

Selamat membaca.

This list includes 12 fics over 20k words that I’ve read for the first time in 2014. I tried to include different writers, but the main pairing is Merlin/Arthur, the fics are mostly NC-17, and they’re mostly modern AUs cause I’m a sucker for these. Remember to always comment and give kudos, enjoy!

  • ACE OF HEARTS by beccadearie | mature | 32k | M/A
One night when out with friends, Merlin meets Arthur and quickly realizes that they have something in common: they are both asexual and trying to make their way through life and love in a sexual world without going crazy. What starts as hanging out between friends evolves into something more, and Merlin and Arthur decide to plunge headfirst into this tenuous relationship of give and take between the two of them.
  • COURAGE MAGIC STRENGHT by BeneaththeHalo | explicit | 54k | M/A/G
30 Day OT3 challenge (NSFW), Merlin/Arthur/Gwaine edition. Unrelated works (30 fics + bonus).
  • CRASH INTO ME by dreamdustmama | explicit | 27k | M/A, M/G
At the end of their first year of university Arthur decides to take Merlin on a road trip, and holds on to the hope that before it’s over they’ll be more than just friends. Morgana decides she and Gwen are going to come along, and Merlin and Gwen decide they’re both insane. Along the (admittedly short) road to true love there are roller coasters, flat tires, chocolate, sheep, pillow fights, food fights, keychains, and memories that will last a lifetime.
  • DEW POINT by kianspo | explicit | 58k | M/A
Arthur Pendragon is as popular and successful as a sixth former can be. He hasn’t quite figured out his future yet, but it’s going to be brilliant, he’s certain. At least until some daring stranger on a cool motorcycle topples his world upside down on the first day of school.
  • EMERGENCY by samyazaz | explicit | 22k | M/A
The kid’s chart says he’s seventeen, but the livid black-and-green bruise mottling his eye and the cracked split lip that’s left a smear of blood drying across his cheek make him look vulnerable. The way he glares the moment Merlin pulls aside the curtain and steps inside defies him to say a word about it.
  • GETTING IT RIGHT by SPowell | explicit | 24k | M/A
Eight people sharing a uni-flat. Merlin and Gwaine are such good friends, Arthur misunderstands their relationship.
  • MERLYN MYRDDIN THE MURALIST by deanpendragon | mature | 63k | M/A
Arthur Pendragon’s life has been a slow downward spiral ever since he grew sick of working for his father at Pendragon Publishing. His job is boring, he’s pushing people away, he’s drinking too much–and to top it all off, the coffee shop he’s been going to for a decade is closing. But perhaps the eccentric young brunet at his new routine coffee place, with his shimmery blue eyes and paint-streaked face, is just the person to kickstart Arthur’s humdrum life. As it turns out, Merlin’s got baggage of his own.
  • PUNK ROCK BOY by silver_etoile | explicit | 31k | M/A
There’s so much pressure on Arthur to choose the right university (Oxford) and date the right girls (Mithian), but a relationship with the weird punk kid was never in Arthur’s plan. When Arthur finds himself in the unfamiliar territory of keeping secrets, he begins to wonder how much of what he thinks is right actually is.
  • THE ONLY MOMENT WE WERE ALONE by emmbrancsxx0 | explicit | 69k | M/A
In 1940s England, the son of a wealthy hospital benefactor and his manservant are separated when their love affair is discovered. When Merlin Emrys is committed to an experimental hospital ward to be cured of his deemed mental affliction of homosexuality, Arthur Pendragon will stop at nothing to get him back. Based on the psychological experiments of Dr. William Sargant.
  • THE SOUND OF SILENCE by sky_reid | explicit | 40k | M/A
For Arthur, whose work revolves around improving sound, living in silence is unimaginable. For Merlin, living in silence is a fact of life.
  • WARLOCK AND HIS DOLLOPHEAD by Val_Creative | explicit | 55k | M/A
30 Day OTP challenge (NSFW), Merthur edition. Unrelated works (30 fics + bonus).
  • YOU’RE MY STRESS AND YOU’RE MY MASSEUSE by SlantedKnitting | explicit | 24k | M/A
Arthur’s back at college for a new semester, but he’s having a hard time falling back into his old routine after his father died over the summer break. In an attempt to distract himself (and pad his resume), he starts writing articles for one of the school newspapers. Unfortunately, he’s assigned to write about art (and one art student in particular, one that he can’t stop thinking about) even though it’s something he knows nothing about.
Everyday Make Up

My everyday makeup consists of over ten products. For some, that may be too many products for everyday but I’ve become accustomed to wearing this much makeup on a daily basis. My everyday makeup consists of a mix of drugstore and high end items. It is best to first explain my skin type before I go on. Everything I use is tailored to my skin type so that my makeup looks a certain way throughout the entire day. I have combo oily/normal skin. I’m oily in my t-zone and normal everywhere else. I don’t have any issues with dryness.

MOISTURIZER

I begin with Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion. I use different moisturizers for different seasons because skin reacts with the change in weather. In the winter, my skin is much drier than it is in the summer so I use a more intense moisturizer during the winter. I use the Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer SPF 30 in the winter and it keeps my skin from feeling tight and painful. In the summer, a moisturizer like this however, is too heavy for my combo skin. The Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion contains no SPF so I mix Shiseido’s Urban Environment Oil-Free SPF 42 with it. The Shiseido sunscreen is very sticky on its own so mixing my moisturizer with my sunscreen helps it to spread more easily. If you use it on its own, you’ll realize that it’s hard to spread all over your face and leaves a sticky residue on your hands.

PRIMER

I have tried a lot of my primers, but I always come back to my Body Shop Tea Tree Pore Minimizer. Once again, because I have oily skin, I tend to reach for products that do not clog my pores and helps keep oil at bay. This primer has mattifying properties and it fills in your pores. Tea tree oil is known for its disinfecting and soothing properties, a great alternative for those with acne prone skin. Tea Tree oil reduces the redness of pimples and helps to minimize them. The Body Shop has a great range of tea tree oil products. Their Tea Tree Skin Clearing Lotion is one of my favorite moisturizers but I haven’t had the time to repurchase it yet, so I’m sticking with my Cetaphil for now.

FOUNDATION

My current everyday foundation is the L’oreal Paris Infallible Pro-Mattefoundation in the shade 102. This is my absolute favorite drugstore foundation. It is my Holy Grail foundation. The texture is light and smooth. It says it lasts up to 24 hours. I’ve never worn it for 24 hours, but the foundation does last at least 10 hours without breaking down on me. This foundation is especially suited for those with oily skin. It keeps you matte, without looking flat. The finish is a demi-matte, so there is still dimension left to your face. This foundation has worked better for me than many high-end foundations. Keep in mind, I’m a Sephora VIB Rouge so I have tried a lot of high-end foundations.

The collection comes in 12 shades, which is not as great a selection as CoverGirl foundations, but it isn’t the worst. I used to mix shade 101 and 102 because 102 was still a bit darker than my skin tone, but I realized that mixing the foundations compromised the finish and longevity of the foundation. In order to make this foundation work for me, I add two drops of my CoverFX Custom Cover Drops in G30 and mix it together with my finger. Then I dot the foundation on my forehead, cheeks, nose and chin and blend it out with my Beauty Blender.

If you’ve never heard of these drops, they are absolutely amazing. The Custom Cover Drops itself is not a foundation. It is a pigment that you can mix with absolutely anything to create a tinted moisturizer, a full coverage foundation or a colored primer. Basically, if there is skin care that you like, you can add these color drops to your skin care. It eliminates having to wear an extra layer or two of foundation on your face. All you need is two to three drops, and you’ll get medium coverage. If you want fuller coverage, use more drops. This is a God Send because I have so many foundations that I love but the color is never quite right. These drops have stopped me from throwing my foundations out.

CONCEALER

For concealer, I use Maybelline’s Fit Me Concealer in 10 Light Sand. It is my favorite concealer from the drug store. The consistency is very light and never settles into my fine lines. If you’re wondering why I would worry about fine lines at the age of 21, it is because I have a wrinkle under my right eye from excessive rubbing over the years. I grew up as a swimmer and chlorine would irritate my eyes so I spent a lot of time rubbing my eyes. Now, I’m paying for it at 21.

POWDER

For powder, I switch between a couple of powders, some drugstore and some high end, but lately, I’ve been using my new Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Powder and it is amazing. It reminds me of the Make Up For Ever HD Powder. The MUFE powder is a lot finer than the Laura Mercier powder but it leaves a white film on your skin whereas the Laura Mericer Powder is more of a very light beige tone. A little goes a long way with this powder, which is great because high-end products are expensive. Makeup is an expensive hobby, to be honest. I use a flat kabuki brush and stipple the powder all over my face after my foundation has set.

BLUSH, BRONZER, & HIGHLIGHT

For blush, I am using my Benefit Cosmestics Sugarbomb Box O’ Powder.I’ve been using this for over a year. This is more of a cheek highlight than a blush. It adds the lightest pink sheen to my cheeks and it is beautiful when the light hits it. It never looks heavy, but it does look a bit powdery sometimes. (However, all powdery cake face makeup can be fixed with MAC Fix+).

For bronzer, I use Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil. This bronzer comes in three shades - Milk Chocolate, Chocolate and Dark Chocolate. Since I’m so pale, I use the lightest shade to bronze and contour. I pop this in the hollows of my cheek, follow upwards around the edges of my face on either side of my eyes, on my jawline and on my hairline. I’ve tried a lot of bronzers and the Too Faced Chocolate Soleil line is one of my favorites because it isn’t orange like a lot of bronzers. Because of my skin tone, orange bronzers are very obvious so I stay away from them.

For highlight, I’m using the new Becca x Jaclyn Hill Highlighter in Champagne Pop. This just came out in stores a few weeks ago and I love it. It’s basically MAC’s Soft and Gentle but better. Soft and Gentle is a beautiful highlight but it adds too much color to my cheekbones, making my face look much darker than I actually am. It’s not to say the Soft and Gentle isn’t a great product, but it isn’t for everyone. If you’re as pale as I am, then the Soft and Gentle may not work for you. The Becca highlighter however is much lighter but still has that beautiful sheen to it. It is easily one of my favorite highlighters.

EYESHADOW, EYELINER & MASCARA

The products I use for my eyes change everyday but the colors do not. I typically stick with a very neutral eye for school and work. Lately, I’ve been using my Too Faced Chocolate Bar for my eye looks. I take the color Marizpan and pop it all over my eyelid and add depth to my eyes by blending Milk Chocolate in my crease. I deepen my eyes by adding Triple Fudge in the outer corners of eyes.

For eyeliner, I use the Dollywink Liquid Liner in black. The Dollywink liner has a brush tip so it makes it easier for me to create my wing. It is one of my favorite eyeliners. It’s dark and easy to use. It took a bit of getting used to when I first started but once I got the hang of it, I fell in love with it. I have repurchased this product at least five times.

For mascara, I use Maybelline’s Falsies Mascara in black. I opt for the waterproof formulation because my eyelashes are often weighed down by any mascara that isn’t waterproof. Waterproof formulas are much drier, helping lashes to stay up better. I never buy high end mascaras because I don’t think it’s necessary. Drugstore mascaras are amazing, so there’s no need to spend triple the money on a mascara when you can buy one that does the same thing at the drugstore.

EYEBROWS
For my eyebrows, I use my Holy Grail Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Granite. Granite is more of a grey color. I have black hair so I use grey instead of brown. Makeup artists suggest using brown for your brows, even if you have black hair but I find that grey looks more natural on me than brown. I line the edges of my eyebrows with the brow wiz, then I brush the products upwards to fill my eyebrow with an eyebrow brush. I naturally have a good amount of hair for my brows, so I don’t need a lot of product. I’ll have a separate post going in detail about how I do my brows. This eyebrow pencil actually has a spoolie but as you can see, mine broke off. Because I’m horrible.

The Dirty Glock 30

This is a long one, so brew some coffee or pour yourself a cold one.

Today I took out my Gen. 3 Glock 30. It was my first time shooting it. Ever. Looking at it, you can tell I spent a pretty penny on it - and it did me dirty. However, let’s back track just a little bit. Yesterday, I arrived from a 12 day trip out of state. I was in San Diego, then Dallas. In Dallas, I was fortunate enough to be staying in the same hotel as the Texas Rangers. They were walking around, open carry, with VERY NICE pieces on their sides - not wives or girlfriends - but rather, fine, fine pieces of firearm candy. I spotted numerous 1911s and even a Sig P210. In any case, I digress. What I was trying to say was that I have not been to the range in almost 2 weeks. Couple that with the LONG ASS wait in Turner’s yesterday (a local gun store), where I waited for my number to be called so I can retrieve the G30 from its prison of the last 12 days (if you did not know, California has a 10 day waiting period from when you purchase the firearm, to when you can pick it up). Long story longer, I was itching to shoot my new toy. And boy did it disappoint - but wait, there is a silver lining at the end of this story.

Fast forward to today. I had the day off and after taking care of a few matters (bulldog vomited her breakfast), I headed to Burro Canyon. I brought my MP5 clone and the G30. The line was hot when I got there so I could not set up my target. I waited and waited and waited some more. No line break called - so I decided to load 3 rounds in the 10 round Glock mag. I fired off 3 shots at the berm and they went off without a hitch. After 20 minutes, a line break was called. I set up a target at 10 yards. I loaded 10 rounds. I had 1 FTF. I brought 1 mag. I know. Dumb. Was it the mag? Or something else? I took a flat head screwdriver I had in my range bag and proceeded to take some meat out of the right side of the plastic surrounding the feeding lip of the mag. Loaded 9 rounds. Another FTF. I worked on the mag some more. Loaded 8 rounds - still 1 FTF. I was bummed. I proceeded to load 5 rounds. Same result. I went home - dejected.

When I got home, I field stripped the G30 and looked for any signs of friction and wear. There were some markings on the feed ramp and some on the trigger stop area. I polished the feed ramp (took about an hour). I then decided that I needed to test it out. I did not want to wait for tomorrow. Burro was closed by then so my best bet was OC Indoor Range in Brea. A bit of a haul, but it proved to be worth it. I packed 3 new mags with me - all Glock 10 rounders.

So I arrive at OC Indoor. It’s crowded. I’m lucky enough to get one of the last lanes. I load the mag in question (the sole one I took to Burro earlier that I had issues with). I took a deep breath and fired 2 shots from the 10 that I loaded. Cool. No FTFs. Third one. Jam. OK. So it’s not the feed ramp. Fuck. I test out one of the new mags. Loaded it with 9 rounds. All fired with no issue. YES!!!! Loaded the same, trouble-free mag with 10 rounds. Again, no issue. YES, YES, YES!! I then proceeded to load it with 8 rounds. FTF. 7. FTF. 9. FTF. 10 rounds. 1 FTF. Tried the other mags and had 1 or 2 FTF per 10 rounds.

So what the F'ing HELL is wrong with this BRAND NEW, modded by Glockworx G30!!!!! Turns out, it was me. Yup, stupid old me. It turns out - as one of the range officers pointed out - I was resting the thumb of my shooting hand too near the slide stop. As the slide chambered the next round, my thumb would slightly push the slide stop up on the locking groove, causing the slide to lock back. DUH!!!!! DUMB!!!

Oh well - and thank GOD. Nothing’s wrong with the G30. I had to modify my grip and fired off 100 rounds with no further issues. I’m in love. It’s my first Glock. It will be the first of many to come.
