There’s something about bomb fishing in Zelda that fills me with delight, and while I might be a terrible person for gleefully mass murdering cute fishes with explosives, at least I’m not the only terrible person out there lol.
When my mom came up to visit I made her try Breath of the Wild and she loved it. Hunting, horse taming, fighting evil goblins – she was totally hooked on all of it from the moment she picked up the controller. When she finally completes the Shrine challenge that gives her the bomb app on her Sheikah slate She. Goes. Nuts.
Fighting with weapons is difficult for her because she doesn’t have much practice with the camera joystick and she gets turned around easily, but holy shit does she quickly master Bomb Bowling for Bokoblins. A couple hours later and she’s elevated fighting with explosives to an art-form.
And then she comes across a pond full of fish that evaded her earlier in the game. This giant evil smile unfurls across her face like she’s the Grinch about to steal Christmas and she whispers “I’m gonna go fishing.”
REMEMBER HOW VIKTOR SKATES STAY CLOSE TO ME TO YUURI IN THE ABSOLUTE FIRST SCENE
AND THEN HE GETS THIS SMILE ON HIS FACE
THIS IS THE SOFTEST VIKTOR
especially when you consider how sad he looks while skating the same program at Worlds, because although it might be an artistic choice I also think it’s meant to highlight the deep longing Viktor feels for someone to be close to
NOT ONLY DOES HE GET TO PAIR SKATE THIS PROGRAM WITH THE LOVE OF HIS LIFE HE ALSO FINALLY GETS TO PERFORM IT KNOWING THAT HE’S NOT ALONE ANYMORE BECAUSE YUURI WILL NEVER LEAVE HIM
