Thor: Ragnarok clue leads Chris Hemsworth to Dr Strange’s New York home on streets of Brisbane

MARVEL fans are frothing after a close-up of the scene Chris Hemsworth filmed in Brisbane today revealed a key plot detail from Thor: Ragnarok.

Hemsworth, who stars as Thor, was filmed looking intently at the address printed on a card in a sequence shot by director Taika Waititi on the streets of the Brisbane CBD, which were doubling for New York City.

A close-up photo of the address printed on the card reveals it to be 177a Bleecker St, New York City — aka the Sanctum Sanctorum.

As Marvel devotees know, Sanctum Sanctorum is the personal residence of Marvel character Dr Stephen Vincent Strange and former headquarters of the Defenders and the New Avengers.

British actor Benedict Cumberbatch is set to star as Dr Strange in a stand-alone film on the character being directed by Scott Derrickson and due for release in November this year.

177a Bleecker St is a focal point for mystical energies and a nerve centre of dragon ley lines — the veins of magic running beneath its foundations through the Earth.

A brilliant but egotistical former neurosurgeon, Strange serves as the Sorcerer Supreme, the primary protector of Earth against magical and mystical threats.
