I'm salty af! The new marvel logo had everyone in it except Bucky! I feel like marvel is going to give Sebastian Stan the shaft and he's not going to be cap 😔😭

I love when Marvel do things like this and I sit here and watch everyone losing their shit over it whilst I rewatch TWS. Tbh Marvel peaked at that film, they ain’t ever gonna do better. But like, also, it’s a logo, and an ugly one at that, there’s way too much going on, is it really that big a deal? Half the people in the logo either have no films left on their contract or have one film left in their contract and so won’t be around much longer anyway. So being in the logo doesn’t say much about the future of the character. And also, Marvel are a business, and the character people were talking about most after Civil War - Bucky, the actor people are still talking about most after Civil War - Sebastian Stan. From a business standpoint, Bucky is one of their biggest selling points, a huge audience draw, to erase him now and not doing anything more with the character would be such a poor business decision. And Marvel don’t tend to make poor business decisions bc they care too much about making money.

I’m amused whenever Kevin Feige discusses RDJ’s casting as Stark the way he does, as though it was some sort of a calculated move on their part–

(e.g., yesterday at SDCC:  “The first casting choice as our own studio was Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark.  We set a bar that was very, very high. Every time we bring somebody, whether or not it’s a co-starring role, certainly if it’s a starring role, we need to match that bar if it’s even possible.”)

– frankly because RDJ practically had to bend over backwards to even just get an opportunity to be seen by them.

Kevin Feige Discusses Why Brie Larson Is Perfect For CAPTAIN MARVEL

“The first casting choice as our own studio was Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark,” Feige says. “We set a bar that was very very high. Every time we bring somebody, whether or not it’s a co-starring role, certainly if it’s a starring role, we need to match that bar if it’s even possible. With Carol Danvers, with our first title female super hero in Captain Marvel we could do no less than that.”

“The fact that Brie, even after she won her big Academy Award, was interested in coming in and talking to us about the character, really fell in love with this character, really fell in love with the notion of being a symbol that can inspire everyone… We were very lucky. We were very lucky that she agreed to come on board and agreed to come out tonight at the end of the panel.”

Official Spider-Man: Homecoming Cast & Synopsis

Marvel Studios officially unveiled the cast and synopsis for Spider-Man: Homecoming at San Diego Comic-Con this evening, though they didn’t reveal which actors were playing which roles.

Here’s the synopsis:

A young Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland), who made his sensational debut in Marvel Studios’ Captain America: Civil War, begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging superhero in Spider-Man: Homecoming.
Cast: Tom Holland (In the Heart of the Sea), Michael Keaton (Batman, Birdman), Zendaya (K.C. Undercover), Donald Glover (The Martian, Community), Jacob Batalon (North Woods), Laura Harrier (One Life to Live), Tony Revolori (The Grand Budapest Hotel), Tyne Daly (Cagney and Lacey), Bokeem Woodbine (Fargo), with Marisa Tomei (My Cousin Vinny, The Wrestler), and Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man, The Avengers).

However, based on the footage shown today, we do know Revolori is playing Flash Thompson. Here’s how ComicBook.com’s Lucas Siegel describes the footage:

Bad Reputation plays, and shots of high school. “Every Story” then shots of Tony, Rhodey, each character in high school. “Every journey. Has a beginning.” Peter is walking through school, and a homecoming banner goes up. 9:30am Science. Peter’s looking at footage of himself taking Giant Man down. Flash Thompson is an Indian character. The Disney channel star Zendaya may be playing Liz Allan! In Chemistry, Parker works on his web fluid on the side. A girl is playing F, M, K with Avengers. Liz thinks Spidey is hot. One of his other friends is trying to figure out what he’s hiding. Jump cuts of him running down a hallway zipping a hoodie over the costume, and climbing up a wall, and finally, he and the “Ganke type” doing a handshake. Then VULTURE comes down a tube, with crazy armor.

The film is being directed by Jon Watts (Cop Car, Clown), based on a screenplay by Jonathan Goldstein & John Francis Daley (Vacation reboot) and Jon Watts & Christopher Ford and Chris McKenna & Erik Sommers.

The film is produced by Marvel boss Kevin Feige and former Sony boss Amy Pascal. Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Patricia Whitcher, Jeremy Latcham, and Stan Lee are serving as Executive Producers.

Spider-Man: Homecoming will be released on July 7, 2017.
