In light of an unfortunate display of ignorance I witnessed today, let me take a moment to make something blatantly clear, for anybody that needs it:
-making fun of someone for using a fidget spinner, to the point of them displaying obvious embarrassment and shame, is disgusting.
-when you say things like “Oh my GOD, I hate those spinners! They’re so annoying, what are they even for haha” you are being willfully ignorant. Spinners are marketed towards people with anxiety, PTSD, OCD, ADD/ADHD, Autistic people, and many other people with brains different from yours that need an outlet to focus, relax, relieve sensory-related issues, and many other things that yours does automatically. Most of the ones I see advertised even specify “For anxiety/stress/ADHD/Autism/etc”
-Making fun of someone for other behaviors such as rocking, hand flapping, echolalia, hair twirling, skin picking, hair pulling, etc is in fact, also a shitty thing of you to do. It’s also unnecessary, cruel, and humiliates the person who is doing those things.
-Don’t make fun of people who use fidget spinners. Don’t make fun of people who stim. I don’t give a rat’s ass if you think it’s unnecessary, or it “looks weird” or it “looks gross.” Don’t do it. You KNOW what you’re doing. I know what you’re doing. I’ve had it, I’m done.
Every Friday at exactly 3:50 pm Draco makes sure to kiss Harry.
He hasn’t been late once either. Because Draco always drops everything
he’s doing, no matter what he’s doing, to go and look for Harry. It’s
not that easy sometimes. Harry has a job that, unlike Draco’s, requires
him to actually leave the house. Whenever Draco shows up at his
workplace, Harry’s face lightens up. He has never complained about Draco
interrupting his work. Not once.
Even when they’re fighting and they’re both in a bad mood, they briefly forget about it when it’s 3:50 on a Friday. Like right now.
They had an argument last night about Harry getting a motorcycle. Draco
just doesn’t get why Harry would want to spend that much money on
something that will probably kill him. They both fell asleep with a
scowl on their face and they didn’t talk while eating breakfast. Harry
left the house while Draco was reading the paper.
But now, as
Draco stands in front of him, Harry is smiling at him fondly. Merlin,
Draco just never tires of that smile. Even after all these years.
glances at the clock and sees it’s 3:49. His eyes find Harry’s and they
hold so much love, it makes Draco shudder. He takes Harry’s hands in
his and pulls him closer. When his lips brush Harry’s, a familiar
feeling washes over him. It’s warm and invigorating, reassuring and
exhilarating. Kissing Harry will never fail to consume and mesmerize
Harry leans away again and brushes his thumb over Draco’s cheek.
“I still have a bit of work to do, but I’ll try to be home early, okay?”
“Okay,” Draco whispers, his eyes still closed.
feels Harry kiss the tip of his nose and can’t help but grin. He pulls
Harry back into a tight embrace and relishes the feeling of Harry’s body
shaking against his, as Harry laughs out loud.
“I love our Friday afternoon kisses,” Harry murmurs.
“I love them, too.”
Draco really does. Because it was 3:50 pm on a Friday afternoon when
Harry Potter said “I do” and kissed Draco for the first time as his
When a Ravenclaw makes their way to the great hall for breakfast, they take the long way there so they can talk to some of their favorite portraits. Sometimes they get knowledge passed on through generations of portraits all over the school. Sometimes they hear the portraits talking about the past, sometimes distant, sometimes more recent. And most of the portraits like to talk about troublemakers that they always saw out of bed after hours and insisted on people calling them The Marauders. Whenever a Ravenclaw asks what The Marauders real names are, the portraits just smile sadly and say words that most certainly aren’t names: Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot, and Prongs.
anyway. idk how to eloquently explain this but. i love the fact that gilbert is so positive about anne’s quirks. everyone’s laughing at her because of the way she reads? he enjoys it. she can read well and she’s invested. anne thinks she’s ugly and skinny? he calls her cute to all his friends. anne’s weird because she’s an orphan and nobody should interact with her? he doesn’t care where she’s from, and he doesn’t see why he can’t walk with her. anne wants to be acknowledged for her intelligence, wants to be known as smart but is never given enough credit by most people (”he’s my brightest student” “we need a guy to show her she’s not so smart”)? he tells billy that she’s smart and he’s just gonna have to deal with it. he tells her if she’s gonna beat him in class, he wants it to be fair and square. because he knows she can, and he knows she wouldn’t have it any other way. and this isn’t even said to..idk win her over with compliments or smth like that. he says it while she’s not listening, mostly to other people who make fun of her. like yeah, he’ll tease her sometimes, but he never tries to make her feel like she’s not enough. he never tries to make her feel like she doesn’t belong. he talks to her when she’s outside alone, tries to give her an apple, always interferes when billy is bullying her. like at most, he’s a cheeky little shit, but he acknowledges these things about anne and isn’t afraid to say she’s smart or cute or invested or good
