(it's hard) letting you go

To all my overachievers who don’t get praise from parents and loved ones anymore because it’s just expected of you to do well: I’m proud that you passed that test, I’m happy you graduated with honors, I love that you try your hardest all the time.

I know sometimes the lack of support and encouragement from those whose opinions matter the most to you can be disheartening, but keep pushing through and being the amazing person you are.

You are the dancing queen,

who replaces spleens,

dominating the DDR machine.

I hardly see any posts out there about this so I guess I’ll be the one to do it.

To all my beautiful followers with eczema, vitiligo, birthmarks, psoriasis, or any other skin condition-you are beautiful.

For all my lovely guys, girls, and non binary friends going to prom this year and feeling self conscious as hell-I love you & you are beautiful. You slay in that dress or tux. I know it’s not easy but your skin condition does not define you.

purpleplunderbunny replied to your post “It’s maddening, because everyone who’s paying attention knows that…”

I literally cannot get out of bed this morning because of this fuckery. Like. What’s the point?

All right, all right. Here it is, the thread I mentioned that was my only hope and consolation. It’s long, so I’m starting with one screencap, and then it’s transcription. If you love it, click through and donate to the original author.

[Transcription of Twitter thread by @alexandraerin:] Alright, babies. I got my drink on and I got my think on, and so here’s the thing I want us all to remember. Paul Ryan didn’t stand around a keg predicting he’d dismantle Medicare. He planned on it.

I point this out because I’m going to talk about how we get out of this mess, and I know I’m going to get a bunch of people asking me: “Do you really think that will happen?” No. No, I do not think it will happen. Because I’m not making predictions. I’m making plans.

Whether they pass this monstrosity tonight or not, we are going to nail them to the fudging wall they keep threatening to build with it  in 2018 and 2020. We’re going to be so mad and we’ll turn out so hard their voter suppression schemes won’t be enough to save them.

And when we have removed their majorities in Congress and taken Trump out of our White House, we are going after his judges. We’re going to call them the tainted judges. We’re going to put an asterisk by every decision they make.

We’re going to fund the appeals of anyone who is found guilty or has an appeal denied under the tainted judges. We’re going to challenge their legitimacy at every turn, because they were appointed illegitimately.

Until the day that Gorsuch resigns in shame, we’re going to call the Supreme Court “the Star Chamber”, because it’s got an asterisk on it.

We’re going to get journalists to do it, too. The old guard won’t, but the new guard is moving in. Citizen-journalists making a name for themselves. And hey, there are vacancies in some top positions right now, which will create more openings in the ranks. I bet more are coming.

This book. This is Dad’s single most valuable possession, everything he knows about every evil thing is in here. And he’s passed it on to us. I think he wants us to pick up where he left off. You know, saving people, hunting things. The family business.

Tano and Kenobi: Curiosity

Previously on Tano and Kenobi…

Two years into a successful apprenticeship with Jedi Knight Ahsoka Tano, Padawan Learner Obi-Wan Kenobi is filled with both excitement and anxiety at promise of his very first mission with his master. But before they jet off to Raxus on the Outer Rim, Obi-Wan needs to do some researching in the Jedi Archives.

First | Previous | Next | AO3

The sun had set by the time Ahsoka and Obi-Wan arrived back at the Jedi Temple, the five spires lit up as a beacon to one and all, the great seat of light and hope in the galaxy.

This was the home of the Jedi.

This was the heart of the Order.

Obi-Wan had exhausted his questions about their upcoming assignment and was trailing after Ahsoka, observing the people on the streets as they passed them. The Temple District was quieter than the Senate District but there was always something to see. Sentients from every corner of the galaxy could be found in the district, from academics and scholars who wanted to do research on the Jedi and their history to those who came seeking a chance to work within the Temple grounds to those who simply saw the Temple as a tourist spot, a place one simply had to see when they got a chance to visit Coruscant.

Security at the Temple during Ahsoka’s childhood had been far more rigorous than it was now. She was still surprised to see the occasional tour group put together by a senatorial friend of the High Council or a wide-eyed clutch of invited sentients following after whatever Jedi Master had been roped into giving the tour this time. Ahsoka had once tagged along with one of these groups during her first year back in the past, following Master Diaz and a crop of new senators from the Mid Rim through the halls as she tried to re-learn where everything was supposed to be.

“Master?” Obi-Wan’s voice broke into Ahsoka’s thoughts as they entered the Temple. “Master? I… may I confess something?”

They had just passed through the massive main entrance of the Temple, moving past the towering bronzium statues that represented great masters from the ancient days of the Order. Ahsoka glanced at Obi-Wan and nodded, gesturing for him to follow her over to a private corner.

Safely tucked away where no one could hear them, Ahsoka turned to her padawan. “What is it, Obi-Wan? Is something wrong?”

i haven’t seen this around among the many excellent theories, so i just wanna toss it out there:

Bigender Pidge. Genderfluid Pidge.

Pidge who is sometimes okay with he and sometimes with she and a lot of the time with both or either, but has days where there needs to be standing on a chair and loud correcting because not that one, not today. Pidge who has gotten used to figuring out how they feel today, and whether or not it matters, and he ends up explaining over and over sometimes because this is important today and other days she was up all night with robots and is too tired and doesn’t bother because today is one of those where each could be okay. Pidge who has a day where it is most definitely she, most definitely a girl day, and seizes the opportunity of feeling sold and real and right to try and explain, try and present, because this feels like the kind of thing that could go on for a while–

and then the next day “she” doesn’t fit anymore and when Lance uses “he” by accident and then tries to backtrack, Pidge tells him, “no, it’s fine”

and then next week, it’s back to “she”, and she’s afraid to explain this again, knows at some point they’re going to run out of patience, and so she just answers to whatever

and eventually the rest of the team might sort of forget, and Pidge is always Pidge but depending on the day or the month or the minute can have to avoid everyone else because hearing them talk about him with the wrong pronouns is too hard.

Pidge knows that she can’t expect them to keep up or deal with switching pronouns on an irregular basis, and isn’t going to try and ask. it can’t be really worth it, can it? he’s used to riding things out, to waiting for them to change, and it’s so hard to explain that sometimes she’s a she and sometimes he’s a he and

is there a point to it, really.

So yeah. Genderfluid Pidge who is too goddamn tired and afraid to explain themselves anymore.
