After a little bit of traveling while she’s figuring out exactly what she wants to do, Cat Grant decides revisit an old pen name.  She wrote a few children’s books when she was younger under the name Charity Malkin, mostly to settle a bet with Lois, but there was no reason Charity Malkin couldn’t come out of retirement.

She finds she enjoys it, and finishes her first book in record time.  She sends it in to CatCo’s publishing department, through the normal approval procedures.  Sure, she could just order it done, but Cat refuses to take the easy option.  Her employees have been trained to recognize quality, and if her book doesn’t pass muster, she’ll just have to try harder.

Her book is picked up, however, and the first limited run is snatched up quick enough that she’s approved for wider release.

Charity Malkin gets fanmail, drawings from little children and thank you letters from parents, but two letters are sent to Cat Grant specifically, despite her expecting at most one, or more likely zero.  After all, Lois was the only other person who knew who Charity Malkin was.

Sure enough, one of the cards is from her former colleague, congratulating her and insulting her in equal measure.  The other card didn’t come through the mail, but instead appeared on her kitchen counter along side a styrofoam container with breakfast from her favorite bistro in France.  Kara’s card was short, congratulating her on her return and hoping for more, with no explanation as to how she figured out Cat was the author or why she had read the book in the first place.

Fueled by her initial success, Cat keeps writing.  The average american family hadn’t been static over the years, and Cat refused to use the stereotypical 50s family.  She didn’t always make it the focus, but her books were quickly noted as some of the best new examples of non-traditional families available.  Divorce, Adoption, Gay Parents, Transgender characters, characters on the spectrum, and more.  Cat did her research, interviewed real families to make sure she was accurate, because she knew children deserved to see themselves in books.

Cat has never been willing to settle once she’s on a roll, and she starts writing for older kids, first chapter books, then some young adult fiction, all the diverse casts she had made her mark with.  She made sure anyone who read her books could find themselves in the pages, and from the fan letters that made it to her and the communities that sprang up, Cat had succeeded.

Kara kept sending her cards whenever she published something new, usually a few lines about what she thought, but sometimes, the whole card is full of words, and once or twice, there’s notebook pages torn out and stuffed in the card, and Cat reads every word, more than once.  Those letters always end up in her collection of favorite fanmail, alongside pictures of kids and families dressed as her characters, fanart of her heroes, and letters that brought a tear to her eye.

Charity Malkin was successful, but reclusive.  Cat had fun lurking on the official Charity Malkin forums, posting only occasionally, typically to end discussions that had gotten out of hand, or to critique particularly bad grammar.  Her favorite section was the creative writing boards, and encouraged everyone to contribute.  It was considered high praise to have TheCharityMalkin leave a comment, even when she only left a few words, because she rarely left more than that.

But Cat wanted to be able to interact with her fans more directly than through an internet filter, and began planning her reveal.  A press release would be boring, and a media campaign wasn’t the right strategy.  Inspiration struck when Supergirl landed on her balcony.

Supergirl hadn’t taken much convincing to agree to her plan, not that Cat expected it would.  Two weeks later, Supergirl landed in front of the children’s hospital for a publicized meet and greet.  A camera followed her as she met the kids and answered their questions.  Eventually the kids were assembled for storytime, and Supergirl introduced her friend, Charity Malkin.  The camera barely left her face as Cat read her new book, about an alien who came to earth, and how she had managed to adjust to life on a new planet.  The kids clapped for the book when she was done, and Cat warmed because she knew they weren’t clapping just because of who she was, because most of them still didn’t recognize her.  It was a change Cat didn’t know she would appreciate so much.

The video was sold to everybody pretty much immediately.  Cat let the media run with it, and refused to answer her phone, except when Lois called for a comment, and Cat only did that because she knew nothing either one of the said would be fit for print.

Cat kept writing, though she slowed down production somewhat now that she was public.  She refused to do a full book tour, but instead, she would fly out and did public readings and Q&A sessions in bookstores whenever it struck her fancy.  Charity Malkin also spoke at fan conventions, where she lectured on writing and storycraft, and gave maddeningly obtuse answers whenever she was asked about a spoiler.

It’s the happiest she’s been in years.

I try really hard to just sort through the submissions and keep my mouth shut so that this blog will be about tattoo imagery and only tattoo imagery because I know that’s why you’re all following it. And I’d rather just be that silent entity working behind the scenes; it’s less work for me. But, y’all, there is a limit to the amount of poorly-drawn, hypersexualized, racist nonsense I can put up with in one submission without my head exploding, and some of y’all are pushing it today. Please stop this.

Ok, I’m going to back to what I was doing.. Thanks for your time.

Fat Amy 'outs' Beca (based on the PP3 trailer)
  • [The Bella's gather at the bar in Atlanta, at their little reunion in their old Bella's uniforms.]
  • CR: Why so glum Beca?
  • Beca: Huh?
  • Fat Amy: She's pissed that her girlfriend broke up with her.
  • The Bella's: WHAT?!
  • Beca: Amy!
  • CR: Pay up bitches.
  • [The Bella's begin to take money out of their purses except for Chloe and Beca. Chloe is noticeably quiet, clearly stunned by the revelation that Beca is gay, and Beca looks past Aubrey at her nervously. Because Beca has the HUGEST crush on Chloe but has no balls to tell her.]
  • CR: *counting money* Five years of waiting. Totally worth it.
  • Beca: For the record, I'm not glum. And if I was it wouldn't be because of Alex. Who, by the way, was a total bitch in the end.
  • Fat Amy: Hey she wasn't THAT bad.
  • Beca: You're only saying that because she was Australian...
  • Fat Amy: Alright, so she was a bitch.
  • [The Bella's all fall silent, swigging their respective drinks. Beca cant look at Chloe who is noticeably staring at her.]
  • Chloe: What happened?
  • Beca: Huh?
  • Chloe: Why did your girlfriend break up with you?
  • [Beca looks at Chloe briefly then blushes so looks back down at her beer bottle, picking at the label with her thumb.]
  • Beca: I...um...I lost my job. They were downsizing. Last one in first one out, you know?
  • Chloe: And she just broke up with you?!
  • Beca: Yeah, well...you know...she had expensive taste. No good being with someone if they can't buy you things.
  • Fat Amy: Alex didn't work and she spent all of Shawshank's money.
  • [The Bella's all gasp and grumble, muttering about what a bitch Beca's ex was. But Beca simply grimaced, embarrassed that she'd been played by her girlfriend of eight months. Her first proper girlfriend. The women fell silent again until Chloe quietly pipes up.]
  • Chloe: She didn't deserve you.
  • Beca: Yeah, well, I'm an idiot...
  • [Beca and Chloe look at each other sadly. The Bella's are looking from the two friends to each other, sharing eye-rolls and knowing looks. Because they KNOW that both Beca and Chloe are crazy for each other. Beca quickly resumes her focus on her beer bottle with a deep breath and forced smile.]
  • Beca: Anyway, that's enough about me.
  • Fat Amy: Actually, I don't think it is.
  • [Beca looks at her housemate with a furrowed brow, but The Bella's are looking from her to Chloe and back again.]
  • Fat Amy: I know you're going to kill me when I say this but for crying out loud Beca, will you just get on and tell Chloe about the massive toner you have for her!
  • Beca: Uh...
  • [The Bella's all nod, their eyebrows raised in encouragement and Beca blushes again]
  • Chloe: Beca?
  • [Beca turns to Chloe who is looking at her cautiously, clearly breathing heavily. And all Beca can do is grimace apologetically.]
  • Beca: Chloe I kinda have...this thing...for you.
  • Aubrey: Um I think we should go...
  • [The Bella's hastily leave Beca and Chloe, moving to the other side of the bar. But Beca and Chloe don't move closer together. They're rooted to the spot as Beca waits for Chloe's response with baited breath.]
  • Chloe: I...don't know what to say...
  • Beca: Then don't say anything. Ugh I'm sorry. I'm so so sorry. You know what Amy's like...
  • Chloe: Beca. It's okay. I have a thing for you too.
  • Beca: You do?
  • Chloe: Yeah.

A strain hits Anna and suddenly she can see colors for a day

Aw, imagine she gets hit by the Strain and everyone’s immediately running to her, concerned. Kusanagi gets there first as Anna opens her eyes and she suddenly reaches up curiously and touches his hair, quietly admiring the color. Everyone is surprised when they hear that Anna can see colors without even needing to use her marbles or anything, like for Anna for the first time she feels like she can really see the way everyone else does. They don’t know how long the power will last so Homra is all determined to make sure Anna enjoys her day with colors as much as possible, like imagine Yata, Kusanagi and Kamamoto all taking her shopping and letting her try on all these super bright and colorful dresses (oh oh or girls day out and she and Neko go out together, I love the idea of the two of them putting on all these colorful rainbow dresses and skirts and overalls and maybe the colors clash a little but Anna doesn’t care because she loves being able to see them all and Neko doesn’t care because colors are happy). Also maybe Anna isn’t entirely certain of what each color is called, like I get the impression she can see them when she looks through her marbles but obviously she’s not always doing that and when she was little and at the age when people first learn their colors she wasn’t able to see any of them. At one point Yata catches Fushimi walking by and drags him in to help out, he gets to use his red, blue and green powers to show Anna the difference between the three. Fushimi complains about how annoying it is but Anna smiles and says that not only is Saruhiko’s red beautiful but his blue and green are too and Fushimi totally gets a bit red as he mutters that they’re just colors. Kusanagi takes Anna out to maybe a nearby park and shows her all the colorful flowers too, naming each color as they go and Anna stares at them all very seriously, determined to memorize the look of each one.

“I See You “- Theory

Season 1 Episode 10 - Camp Mona was said to give us a clue according to MK’s response to a fan’s question on Uber A now known as A.D.

Noel wasn't the only one who to see this, Hanna was watching as well as she and the rest of the liars well excluding Aria as she was busy smooching Ezra’s face were on the look out for A. Hanna is then knocked over by a car which later turned out to be Mona but we all know that’s BS!

The liars then receives this text:

But what exactly was to much for Hanna to know? Technically the only big secret Hanna discovered was Ezra and Aria! Apart from Noel writing I See You!

Fast forward to Season 7 episode 7 Original G'A'ngsters

We once again see

But this time we’re unsure if it’s actually Noel khan. Here is where it starts to get interesting:

The Liars investigate the secret storm cellar. Opening a filing cabinet, they find a file for each of them except Aria. (THE LIARS EVEN MAKE A POINT OF SAYING THIS) They also find Mary’s medical files. Reading them they discover that Mary had a second child who would have been the same age as the Liars. Finding photos of Alison everywhere, they discover that Jessica must have known that she was still alive. Spencer’s car alarm startles them and they run outside to stop it. The keys are gone, however, and so they get inside the car to turn off the alarm. Once inside, the car automatically locks and a seriously scary countdown begins. A sinister message then appears: “If you find out who I am before I find out who killed Charlotte, YOU DIE.” The storm cellar then blows up right in front of the terrified girls. A hooded figure writes “I see you” on the back of their car. Later, we see a shady figure with Aria’s file in front of them. The person then lights a match to burn a file with Noel Kahn’s name on it.

Later in  Season 7 episode 9 The Wrath of Kahn

Aria has a very interest conversation with Jason.

JASON: I ran into Emily at The Brew. She said you were up here.

ARIA: Yeah, I was actually just about to head out. Can we talk later?

JASON: There was a fire at my Aunt Carol’s a few days ago.You know anything about it?

JASON: Apparently, Ali went out there. Detective Furey said Archer was out of the country but I think he’s still here.I think he followed her out there and tried to hurt her again.

ARIA: The fire was an accident.

JASON: Wait, so you were with her?

ARIA: Yeah.Ali asked me not to say anything.

JASON: Why not?

ARIA: We found some of your mom’s personal things in the cellar.

JASON: What things?

ARIA: [sighs] Okay, we found some paperwork that confirmed your mom was in charge of Mary’s care at Radley. She oversaw Charlotte’s adoption and Mary’s other child’s adoption too.

JASON: What other child?

ARIA: That was all we were able to read before the fire started. Now, Mary won’t answer any of Ali’s calls and she’s, she’s not staying at the Lost Woods.

JASON: I’m sure there were more secrets. And I’m guessing my mom was killed because of one of them.

ARIA: I promised Ali I’d find out all I could about the adoption.I owe her that after everything she’s been through.[sighs] I was just gonna head to the courthouse right now.

JASON: They won’t give you any information.

ARIA: Why not?

JASON: You’re not a relative.

ARIA: No, but you are.

WELL,firstly Aria was not with the liars at the cellar. She had told the liars that she and Ezra are in fact going to elope that night but we saw the FBI agents at Ezra’s apartment but Aria was not seen for the rest of the episode. So Why did she lie to Jason about being there? Unless she actually was there. secondly the fire was no accident so why did she lie again saying it was an accident?Thirdly the fire only started once the liars was out of the cellar so why did Aria say to Jason they didn't have time to figure out details about the 2 Drake child because the fire had started.

lastly why the hell does she keep including herself in that event??? Unless she was there not as Aria but as A/A.D?

Also this was the first time we were made aware of Jason and Aria being together during the time jump in a flashback. during the conversation Aria felt very guilty especially about the fire. Why would she its not like she started it or anything? or did she? And why out of all the liars is she so interested in helping Ali discover who the 2 Drake child is. we all know how Aria doesn’t just help Ali with anything remember how she was so against Charlotte’s release. So why help Ali now?

Interesting statements to note

  1. JASON: There was a fire at my Aunt Carol’s a few days ago.You know anything about it?
  2. ARIA: No.
  3. ARIA: The fire was an accident.
  4. JASON: Wait, so you were with her?
  5. ARIA: Yeah.Ali asked me not to say anything.
  6. JASON: They won’t give you any information.
  7. ARIA: Why not?
  8. JASON: You’re not a relative.

HOW DOES CAMP MONA AND WRATH OF KHAN AND THE WHOLE I SEE YOU THEORY COME INTO PLAY? WELL remember in Camp Mona this was the first time we saw Aria as A wearing a black hoodie in Wrath Of Khan A or A.D was there with the girls supposedly the hooded figure outside the car. Also in Original G'A'ngsters the liars discover files for all of them besides Aria we later saw A/A.D with Aria and Noels file. A has been playing this game for 7 seasons now why go through all that trouble of taking Aria’s file and not Spencer as she turned out to be the second child? Wasn’t A.D trying to conceal this, WHAT IF yes i too believe A.D stands for Aria Drake remember Eddie Lamb did recall Aria being in Radley before.

Sorry if this is a weird thing to ask but like, am I the only person who still likes Rose Quartz? I am kinda worried about where the show is going with her atm with the Pink Diamond thing, but... the other day I saw one of those "thank you for x, NOT YOU" memes and it was "thank you for always being there for Steven" and NOT YOU over Rose and it frustrated me. I know Rose obviously did some shady things and wasn't perfect but sometimes I feel like the whole fandom hates her now. And I (1/2)

always see people talking about how bad she was, but I still feel like she was a complicated and conflicted but ultimately good person who had flaws just like everyone. Am I wrong? Is it wrong of me to still think Rose is a great character? Idk, I just really love her still and it doesn’t seem like anyone agrees. It seems kinda like people are quicker to sympathize with the Diamonds than with Rose now :/

oh, you’re certainly not the only person who still likes Rose. I know plenty of people who love her. In fact, she’s become one of my favorite characters and it’s entirely because of how complex and flawed they’ve been revealing her to be.

Early on, she was very much (and very deliberately) portrayed as an almost goddess that everyone loved and who was entirely pure and good and faultless. A symbol and ideal of goodness that Steven couldn’t possibly live up to, because nobody is truly like that. That sort of thing is a nice idea, a nice plot device, but not really a character. I found her interesting but I wasn’t really invested in her specifically. But as the show has gone on and they’ve revealed more and more about her, she’s become more flawed, more human (so to speak), and she feels more real, like a person rather than just an idea. I love it, honestly.

It just feels very true to the message of the show, that you can always change, that you can be flawed and still do good things. And I feel like Steven has a lot more in common with her than he thinks. Like, not just in power, but in this kinda of… being in the impossible position of kind of falling into being the leader everyone looks up to and having to help everyone and solve these impossible problems. In the insecurities and not knowing what to do and wanting to help everyone but not really being able to.

Like, the whole point of the Rebellion was, to save Earth yes, but also to break free from Homeworld so that Gems could be free to be whoever they wanted to be and Rose lead that, she facilitated that, but I don’t think being a leader was something she ever wanted to be, it just happened and she got stuck in it and I don’t think she ever really knew what she was doing, as evidenced by how bad some of her decisions were, which just came off as a whole “enigmatic leader does wise things we couldn’t hope to understand” instead of “oh god I don’t know what I’m doing someone please help me”. But everyone looked up to her and drew inspiration from her and I think that makes it very hard to admit she didn’t know what she was doing, for fear of letting everyone down.

This isn’t a hard and fast rule, of course, but the reason a lot of people find it easier to sympathize with a “bad” character who shows some good/sympathetic traits than a “good” character who shows bad/unsympathetic traits is because we have this kind of… expectation of goodness within our social consciousness. We expect people to be good, on some level, like a lot of the time even when people aren’t surprised someone does something bad, they still feel disappointed.

When a “bad” character is shown as sympathetic or “good” even in small ways, it feeds into this expectation of goodness (which is lower, since we know they’re supposed to be bad), it makes you go “oh, they’re not all bad” or makes you relate to them and thus feel for them more.

But when a “good” character is shown as unsympathetic or “bad” even in small ways, it breaks the expectation (which is higher, because we know they’re supposed to be good). It’s a disappointment and so it hits harder. Sometimes it’s because we already relate to them so this “bad” thing feels almost like an attack on ourselves so it’s rejected.

I also think that people, in general, do not like being told what to think. If you’re told this character is supposed to be good or supposed to be bad, then what you’re going to look for is something that disproves that. The evidence against feels much stronger because it’s like “Look, you’re wrong”

Really there’s a lot of reasons for it. That said, I find the Diamonds to be interesting characters as well.

Anyways, I have rambled enough. But just know that you’re generally never alone in any opinion you have.

Perfect For You Too

You may not be her first

Her last or her only.

She loved before, she may love again.

But if she loves you now,

What else matters?

She’s not perfect-

You aren’t either,

And the two of you may never be perfect together;

But if she can make you laugh,

Cause you to think twice,

And admit to being human and making mistakes,

Hold onto her

And give her the most you can.

She may not be thinking about you every second of the day,

But she will give you a part of her that she knows you can break-

Her heart.

So don’t hurt her,

Don’t analyze

And don’t expect more than she can give.

Smile when she makes you happy,

Let her know when she makes you mad,

And miss her

When she’s not there.

I think I'm the only one NOT team Emison. I think Marlene just did that to satisfy fans because she wants to be liked so badly and she knows she screwed us all for the sudden switch in storylines. Ali has always gone after older men, but suddenly she's a lesbian? Come on, being bisexual myself, I can easily tell this girl wasn't meant to be linked to Emily romantically.

I’m not personally team Emison. I don’t ship anything on this show.

But even if I did, I don’t think I could ship Emison. Which is unfortunate I think, because the need for representation is there. I just wouldn’t pick them for a couple to romantically model. And that’s because I do not trust Ali’s motives. I never will I suppose.

Most people are really convinced that Ali has changed a lot, and that she regrets all of her bad choices, etc. I mean most people including Sasha and Marlene. So, unless she’s getting a reveal in the finale, I’m afraid that canonically she’s just grown into a broken and scared and regretful young woman. And you can’t say that she hasn’t been written to have character growth.

Ali has had a lot of conversations where she talks about regretting what she’s done, and finally embracing her true self, etc. So, yes… it’s there.

My problem is what wasn’t there. Mainly any type of detailed account of her time on the run. Like I’m not joking when I say that itself should’ve been a few episodes. If Ali is completely clear of any bad intentions then, why did they work so hard to make her seem not credible?

People love to get defensive about Ali about how she’s changed, and we need to let it go and forgive her, but I can’t because this whole thing started with Ali, and I built my entire understanding of this universe on “Alison DiLaurentis: Manipulative young girl who knows the value of a good lie.” And if this show ever really wanted me to let go of that distrust of Ali, they’d have given more than they gave.

I really never bring this stuff up unless asked, because I do get how and why people feel so strongly about them. And who am I to tell you what a good wlw ship looks like on TV, when there’s very few of them, and I don’t ship to start with.

But from my perspective, since I distrust Ali, and they’ve never shown us her having attraction to any other female… it does feel a bit forced. I can’t help but look at this relationship and default to thinking about old Ali and saying “But what if she’s just manipulating Emily.”

I’m 98% certain that I’m meant to believe their love is beautiful and genuine, and that’s how it will stay. But, literally until the credits roll on this finale I’ll be waiting for her to drop the mask. Probably even after.

You heard of Katieaegi from Instagram? That bitch stans/protecting EXP knowing good and well that Koreans don't like them and she uses her Korean boyfriend as an excuse. Anyway, she still ranting on Instagram bout how "racist" people are to EXP. then she brought a black gg kpop group and was complaining that people wasn't complaining bout them either. Personally I didn't think it was a good idea either but she's only bringing them up because they're black

thats funny…because if i recall correctly, black people in kpop, and in Korea in general do get a lot of shit. Alex from Rania got so much backlash because she wasn’t Korean, yet no one said anything about the other foreign members like the Chinese girl, or the countless other non-korean members in other kpop groups. Alex gets treated like dirt even by her own company and it’s no doubt because she’s black. The problem people have with this Exp bullshit is the fact that these guys have no experience with Korea or kpop culture, they didn’t have to experience the rigorous process that trainees had and still have to endure, and they don’t even speak the goddamn language and its frustrating how Americans, especially white Americans can just see something and just feel entitled to take it just because they want to. They get the funny glamorous parts of kpop but they don’t get the criticism from Western cultures or the hard work that goes into it.

So to make a long story short: Fuck anyone who defends this bs

So when you died and went into the afterlife or whatever ya'll IceWings have, did you just sit there, confused, once you realized Foeslayer wasn't there yet?

No, I wasn’t confused, she wouldn’t have been here.  You see, it was nothing but snow and ice for miles. It was my home that seemed never ending and somber. I’ve found only a few other IceWings. One didn’t want to talk, they seemed to be from an ancient time. The other did talk, but they were guarded and careful with their words. There are secrets I guess I’ll never know, but I bet its in the history scrolls.

I’ve continued forward as I know there’s many things I need to atone for. I’ve been horrible and unkind to many. I still have hope that I’ll find her again. I’ll find Foeslayer and see if she even wants to even talk or even walk into the next life with me.

I'm so tired of eating, but I like food, now, please, please some one help.💔

hey, my situation is kind of similar to yours. This is only my 2nd full day of restriction, so my best advice to you is to be sure that you truly want it. You have to be comfortable with the idea of becoming disgusted by the thought of food. Since you have a small amount of weight that you want to lose, I would just recommend starting easy with little amounts of restriction but focus mainly on developing a strong excersize regimen.

I really liked the part where Sansa tells Bran that Littlefinger wouldn't give him the dagger without expecting something, I don't know why, but I like Sansa knowing how LF is and being done with his bs, as she keeps interrupting him. I'm tired of people doing what they wanted with Sansa, I love Sansa being as she is now, like Jon said she's letting her intelligence show, it's one of the reasons I became a huge Sansa fan, when I discover she wasn't a stupid little girl but a badass

Sansa’s always been a badass… not in a literal *badass* way, but she’s always been strong, smart and resilient as fuck. I loved that Tyrion/Jon exchange because it acknowledges that Sansa’s intelligence has always been there, only concealed. She’s playing a different game now, because she’s no longer needs to paint herself as innocent, silly and inoffensive to survive—now she has a wider array of weapons at her disposal, and she’s back in her natural habitat.

She’s definitely hyper aware of who LF is and what his methods are. The other Starklings are also wary of him, and who knows the extent of what Bran has learned about him, but Sansa is the one who knows him best on a personal level. I can’t wait to see how she deals with him.

Former Bubger Kirg anon again. Still more stories about the garbage management there. I have several mental illness problems and at the time had no meds or therapy, so I was a mess. Had a manager shove me out of her way on drive-thru and bitch at me constantly. She treated everyone like shit. Complained to a manager I thought I could trust (and I know I wasn't the only one), she dropped my name, bitchy manager confronts me in the break room and makes me have a panic attack. I wish I'd just left.

"What's wrong, Tsubasa?" Genjuuro asked the penseive eight-year-old. "I wish I wasn't an only child. It would be so nice to have a big brother or sister," Tsubasa replied in a soft voice tinged with resigned melancholy.

another from the ask prompt forever ago (and admittedly one i was excited to do, this is so good)

Genjuuro forced his face to remain stony once he heard that, before relaxing it into a smile. Tsubasa’s siblings…she wasn’t old enough to know, and he wasn’t prepared to tell her.

“Why is that?” he asked. He couldn’t cheer her up if he didn’t know what was getting to her.

“It’s Grandfather.” Her voice cracked, but she quickly rubbed her eyes with the back of her hand and straightened up.

“What did Father do now?” He knew firsthand how impossible to handle Fudou could be, but it wasn’t his place to tell his niece about it.

Rather than answering, Tsubasa said, “I don’t want to be the family head. If I wasn’t the oldest, then somebody else could do it.”

Without warning Tsubasa, Genjuuro pulled her into a tight hug against his shoulder. She could only get out, “Unc-“ before he squeezed her too tightly to continue. He held onto her like that until he’d calmed himself down enough; as much as she needed comfort, he needed her to not see him on the verge of overflowing emotions.

“Kazanaris are strong, Tsubasa. You can do this.” He gripped her a little tighter. “You’ll grow up into a stronger woman because of it.”

“Then I don’t want to be a Kazanari.” Tsubasa pushed against him, rejecting the embrace; he held her at arm’s length by her shoulders.

“Don’t let anyone hear you talk about your family like that, Tsubasa.” Genjuuro wiped away a tear that ran down her cheek. He would have done anything to take the burden from her, and he was sure Yatsuhiro would have as well. “How about I take you out, and I’ll be your big brother for the day?”
