my boobs only feel big while i’m on my period. they’re small when i’m not on it. i hate being a girl. you crave for bigger boobs. it’s like.. why would you want big boobs? because stupid, ugly boys make you feel worthless if you don’t have boobs! screw you stupid, ugly boys!
no, but really.. i want boobs for myself. fun to play with, fun to play with. and shirts don’t look good unless you got boobs to fill them :(
oh, one would definitely be the moment in which she executes gustus for his crime, because that’s one agonising slow and very charged scene.
overall i love how much depth they give lexa in that episode, because the significant insights into her political world as well as her emotional condition that creates this interesting duality within her own persona, shapes this very gripping character and storyline if you’d ask me. it really breathes life into her. and this scene has my heart tight every time since the bareness really speaks to me.
this is probably my favorite moment
it is heartbreaking to see lexa having to kill gustus, someone she deeply cares for. and i think the reaching in and pulling the emotions out of her is what really moves me here - to see her vulnerability so full on display. it’s the ragged breathing, in the way how she can’t keep her mouth closed since her jaw is practically trembling. the rapid blinking of her eyes, that is very eye-catching. totally capable of feeling, even if she has chosen not to do it - she carries a deep seated sense of human emotion with her and it’s very apparent here. the mask falls and she invokes a memory between herself and gustus - ‘be strong’. there is a certain innocence in her youthness that is repesented here, too, in connection to her relationship with gustus, defined by fragility and strength. then, it’s interesting to see how her face works as a contrast to her other movements as well, because while her face reveals the devastation of the human heart, she gets ready for the hard kill in the same process, putting her right forearm onto her left wrist to steady her sword, getting ready to fulfill her duty. you know it’s going to be a precise kill, the finale ‘cut’, one she knows exactly where to place, slowly.
and then we have the scene in which she pulls the sword out after the kill
what i like about this moment is the balanced detail and contrast again, which is particularly heavy, as you can see in the shot above. while the killing in itself is clear, quiet and slow, as mentioned, the moment she has to pull her sword out again you can see that she becomes quick and almost harsh in her movements. it’s the abrupt pulling, the one, loud sharp intake of a breath that follows with it that sounds more like a hiss - it hurts, how she closes her mouth and then proceeds to cast her eyes down. she doesn’t even blink here. in fact, it’s very fascinating to see how this moment runs down. she watches herself pull the sword out of gustus and feels the full impact of it, which then leads her to look away, trying to keep herself in check, to be in control of her feelings. one would think she would fail, but no, she actually knows what she is doing. then again there is a moment in which you can see her heart shattering, feelings pouring out before she strips them away from her face. i love how the camera draws us in, real and wild. i often ask myself if she hears her own words echo in her mind in that moment, ‘it’s done’. you can clearly see her putting her walls back up again, and it’s both intriguing and terrific.
as little as we saw of gustus and lexa’s dynamic, it’s one i loved seeing and is very dear to me. and this scene? both delicate and haunting.
also, i do have to mention two other things. 1. the music in this scene is phenomenal, beautifully delivering the core of the moment. and 2. i said it once and i will say it again. Gustus’ final line ‘be strong’ is one that deeply ruins me. i associate it with the father-figure of the show, since Clarke’s father used the exact same line in his video for the people on the Ark and Kane does it too in season 3, and i feel that Gustus represented one to lexa.
idk if anyone watches osomatsu-san, but yoongi from this point is absolutely karamatsu. i used to say it was yoongi and namjoon mashed together, but that moment them puma sneadles were worn, i’m just like…
