Ryan had taken the last few days off work to recover his recent army injury. He was feeling better and now just really bored. It had been quite a while since he’d had a really good drink without worrying. Eric was at work, so Ryan could just drink with new friends and have some fun. Leaning across the bar, he ordered up two cocktails and waited for Trace to arrive.
“Put the drinks on the house,“ Ryan said to the bartender, “For my friend tonight and me. And don’t text my husband if I get too drunk. Just call a cab.“ The girl behind the bar laughed and placed the drinks on the bar top. Ryan picked up his cocktail, a mix of liquor that made it the right balance of sweet and sharp. Most of the cocktails were his own invention. “Drinks on the house, thought I’d get us started while I waited,“ Ryan smiled, turning in his seat. “Hope you can keep up.“
