When you voice your support for Donald Trump, you are telling my black professor that he is inherently dangerous and should be stopped and frisked.

When you voice your support for Donald Trump, you are telling my transgendered sister that she is inherently dangerous and should not be allowed to pee in her prefered bathroom.

When you voice your support for Donald Trump, you are telling my gay scenes partner that he should not be allowed to marry his boyfriend of several years (despite Trump himself being on his third wife).

When you voice your support for Donald Trump, you are telling my Muslim lab partner that she should not be allowed to enter the country because the 1.6 billion in the world who share her faith are terrorists.

When you voice your support for Donald Trump, you are telling my Latino coworker that he should not have been allowed to enter the country because his countrymen are rapists and murderers.

When you voice your support for Donald Trump, you are telling my doctor husband that he everything he learned in medical school was wrong, that he is either stupid or a liar, and either way he is willfully giving your children autism every time he vaccinates them.

When you voice your support for Donald Trump, you are telling my disabled uncle that his disability is grounds for mockery.

When you voice your support for Donald Trump, you are telling me that I am not intelligent enough to make my own decisions regarding my reproductive system.

When you voice your support for Donald Trump, you are telling the world that you are racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, xenophobic, and probably sophophobic.

If you do not think that’s who you are, if you truly believe that those words do not define you, then you need to seriously reevaluate your endorsement and what you plan on doing tomorrow.

  • Me: What's it going to take to get you to watch Yuri!!! On Ice?
  • Them: The one about figure skating? That doesn't sound like something I'm interested in.
  • Me: What if I told you the animation and figure skating sequences are awesome, it has realistic storytelling, superb character development, a lovely soundtrack, and actually surpasses its own greatness every episode?
  • Them: Still, it's not really --
  • Me: It smashes stereotypes like a wrecking ball, is full of diversity, friendly but fierce competition, and healthy relationships.
  • Them: Okay, but even so --
  • Me: Tangible tension but no melodrama, plot twists that turn the show on its heel and rewrites your perspective in five seconds, THE GREATEST LOVE STORY that's slightly mysterious and progressive and, bonus, the most positive LGBT representation I've ever seen in an anime or really anywhere
  • Them: But --
  • Me: POLE DANCING
  • Them: Still - wait, what?
  • Me: Did I stutter?
The white road

I am 24 when my doctor tells me that I was abused. She doesn’t tell me what happened to me, or plant any memories that weren’t already there. She takes what I have told her and she puts it all inside those six letters, that one word.

Before she takes my memories and gives me that word, I tell her that I have made the appointment because I want to know why I can’t stand being touched. I tell her that I’m 24 and I’m sick of flinching when shop assistants hand me my change, just in case their fingers brush against my palm and there is that fire again, the one that rushes up from my bone to the membrane of my skin any time it comes into contact that I wasn’t expecting. I tell her that I have been trying to do this properly, from dating to everything else, and it’s like I’m blocked. It’s like I’m missing a piece of myself that makes me an adult, or perhaps even a human, and I don’t know where it’s gone.

I’m vegetarian and my ex-boyfriend was always against it so when we broke up he’d always send me pictures of animals dying and being slaughtered. In revenge I used his email address to sign up to lots of vegan newsletters now he gets 23 weekly newsletters that he can’t stop because he can’t log in and cancel them. Also I created a Facebook and used his mobile number. With the account I followed loads of vegan pages and turned on notifications so that  he gets a text every time somebody posts on the page. Don’t mess with me

Donald Trump has put a gag order on the EPA and the National Park Service. He has shut down their social media accounts and forbid them from discussing climate change science with the public or with other government agencies.

Some NPS workers have bonded together to form a resistance page. Click the source link to join. They also have a Facebook page, Alt National Park Service.

Do not allow this tyrant to silence those who report the truth.
Donald Trump opposes truth about climate change because it doesn’t help his pocket book. It doesn’t help his rich friends in the oil industry.

Fight. Resist. Speak the truth.

If you, like me, are drowning in dread right now…if you, like me, need a reason to feel hope or pride in America…if you, like me, want to watch a movie that would sincerely piss off the racist, sexist, imaginationless incoming administration: go see Hidden Figures. Go see it right now. Brilliant, incredible black women putting human beings in space is exactly what I think we all need right now.
