Alright… so this took so long to write, because it’s way, way too long. I’m not even sure how it got this long it just… it just did. So, here you go and thank you for asking!!
TW: Alcohol, Food, a tiny mention of abuse but nothing really bad at all because nothing happened? I don’t know how to state that… but yeah the whole thing is about alcohol so just proceed with caution if you need to.
It had only been about half an hour in, and Crutchie found himself actually enjoying the party that he had been dreading going to for days. It wasn’t that he didn’t love the people at the party, it was just the party itself. Particularly a beverage at the party itself that had him worried.
But Jack somehow talked him into it and now Crutchie was glad he did. He hadn’t felt this happy for a while.
Well he was happy, until Race pulled out multiple bottles of beer from no where. Suddenly Crutchies stomach felt tight and air wasn’t getting in to his lungs easily. Without a word he turned around and left the apartment.
“…What?” Spot asked a little confused, looking at where Crutchie just left to.
“Maybe he needs some air?” Jojo tried suggesting, not understanding why Crutchie left in the middle of his sentence to him.
Jack was equally confused, and weaved his way through the crowd of people to follow him, to find out what’s up.
can we stop setting certain men up as the "good boys" & idealizing them??? i've seen it happen over & over it it just ends in a disappointment when they don't live up to that standards. like i like the Mcelroys but i don't want them as replacements for actual women or queer ppl or whatever.
yeah i mean i have friends who are dudes and theyre cool but investing in a public figure or celeb the way people do with the mcelroys is imo not great and we should proably not do it, as a community.
My favorite Miyuki/Nori interactions are when Miyuki gives Nori a genuine compliment and Noris just yeah okay whatever and somebody else Immediately gives him another compliment and he starts fucking glowing he’s so happy and Miyukis like ????? Sure I guess.
I don’t normally engage in fandom discourse, but I see a lot of people saying “I don’t want blizzard to say who the canon lgbt characters are in Overwatch, because I think it’s better for fans to have their own headcanons.” And I 100% disagree.
Representation in a game that reaches people all over the world, many of whom are from a homophobic subculture that might otherwise not encounter any queer characters in any of their other media, is more important than your ships.
Shipping is not why lgbt characters are necessary. They are necessary because real, actual lgbt people exist and now more than ever need to be normalized in media. Subtext alone is not enough. We need to be allowed to exist as more than a head tilt and a wink, as more than something that has to be coded and guessed at like we’re some sort of dirty secret.
basically, If your ship is more important than real life representation on a global scale, I really think you’ve missed the point, and maybe you should think about your priorities. :\
Alec (who is tall, big, strong and trained) slams Clary (who is tiny, untrained, unprepared) against a wall and threatens to kill her when she confronts him about his sexuality
Alec gets flustered and the two have an amusing exchange when Clary confronts Alec about his sexuality
Clary and Izzy have a hard time getting along at first bc both of them have always been the only female in their surrounding males' lives
Izzy shows immediate support to Clary and they bond almost instantly
Alec makes a row of comments about Magnus's sexuality that have made the bisexual fans of the books uncomfortable
Alec is aware of Magnus's sexuality from the very second of their acquaintance and he doesn't give two shits
Alec is conflicted because when he dies, Magnus will probably move on and find other people to love
Alec is conflicted because when he dies, he will cause Magnus pain
Alec and Magnus get together because Magnus is the only male who'd taken interest in the shadowhunter. this grows into actual feelings only later.
Alec cares about Magnus from the start. It was evident in the little things like giving his strength to the warlock and staying behind to help him clean the apartment because he didn't want Magnus to waste any more energy and feeling the need to explain his marriage situation to Magnus although he didn't have to, the "Magnus is... quite magical. He's very very good at magic" line, etc.
portray Alec as a basically invisible installment to his siblings, only killed his first demon at 18 (which is quite late for a shadowhutner), doesn't really have any memorable traits except being a good archer (yet he gets outdone by a mundane beginner at some point)
portrays Alec as a strong, confident leader who challenges his inner conflicts instead of recoiling and becoming invisible to escape them, still always has his siblings' backs but somehow is not reduced to the background, is actually likable from the very beginning
Clary yells at her mom and storms out when she comes out of the coma
Clary hugs her mom and tells her "right now I just need my mom" when she comes out of the coma
leave such important parts of Magnus's and Alec's development as their first kiss and their first date and their first actual conversation out of the main books.
