's marvelous

Black Panther’s world keeps getting bigger thanks to writer Ta-Nehisi Coates. After taking on the Black Panther series in 2016 and collaborating with writer Roxane Gay and poet Yona Harvey on a spinoff, World of Wakanda, Coates is adding another comic book series: Black Panther & The Crew. It’s a revival of an earlier series by Marvel’s first black editor Christopher Priest but with a new set of characters. Coates will team again with Harvey to tell the story of a team of heroes—Black Panther, Storm, Luke Cage, Misty Knight and Manifold—set in Harlem. [more]

Do your family members ever read your fanfics, or do you keep that part of your internet life totally separate from real life? Just curious.

My husband has read a few and liked them (and also is a staunch cheerleader at my attempts at art), but my daughter would probably just roll her eyes and sigh if I sent her a link, so I don’t (maybe if I wrote Vampire Diaries fic…). My sister *might* have read a few (she’s a big Marvel geek but doesn’t do online fandom). My parents are both gone now, and my very religious and judgmental in-laws are the reason I do everything fannish under a pseudonym!

“Welcome to Remote Controlled, Variety’s podcast series featuring the best and brightest in television, both in front of and behind the camera.

This week’s episode features Variety executive editor of TV Debra Birnbaum and senior TV reporter Daniel Holloway in conversation with “Legion” star Dan Stevens about the show’s psychedelic take on the superhero genre — and its differences from his previous TV gig, “Downton Abbey.”

“Remarkably similar,” Stevens joked when asked how the two shows stack up against one another. He added, “They’re fundamentally different things. Although I am in a wheelchair in one of the early episodes.”

Stevens, who played charming aristocrat Matthew Crawley on “Downton Abbey,” stars on FX’s “Legion” as David Haller, a diagnosed schizophrenic who learns that what he’s been told his whole adult life are delusions are instead manifestations of a mutant superpower. The series, based on Marvel’s “X-Men” comic books, is executive produced by “Fargo” showrunner Noah Hawley.

“It definitely has a fondness for those slightly strange filmmakers with a very strong aesthetic — [Stanley] Kubrick and Wes Anderson, I guess, that have a slightly willful kookiness to them and a weirdness,” Stevens said. “But they kind of own their weirdness. I like things that own their weirdness.”

TV reporter Elizabeth Wagmeister also sat down with “The Bachelor” contestant Nick Viall. She asked him about this season’s favorite villain, Corinne Olympios, and hinted that fans may start to see a different side of her in future episodes.

“I do think people should be patient with judging anyone on the show, but specifically Corrine,” Viall said. “I think the show over time has shown that opinions can change quickly about someone.”

since Hugh Jackman is retiring from his role in the X-Men franchise, I really hope that the next Wolverine movie will be about Laura aka X-23 (since she’s the Wolverine in the comics now anyway) instead of force feeding us a boring reboot with another white male actor playing Logan (and not being half as good at it as Hugh Jackman). I feel like the Logan movie could be an amazing transition between Logan Wolverine and Laura Wolverine. I don’t get my hopes up because it’s Marvel but I hope that in a few years they’ll make Wolverine movies starring X-23 as the lead.

Scenario: Taking tom on a shopping spree (on marvel/sony's coins of course) and upgrading him.

Yes, because I am tired of those damn burgundy sweats and black combat boots. That’s my baby but I know he can do better.

And I would might even buy myself something for all the extra stress of helping him out.

Hey there guys! can you think of somehting better than a collab with your best friend? Cus I don´t think I can!

A baby with DNA from 3 parents was just born to an infertile couple

  • A previously infertile couple in Ukraine has welcomed a new baby girl into the world — and she’s a medical marvel.
  • Doctors in Kiev used a method called “pronuclear transfer” to create a child with genetic material from three parents, taking the mother and father’s DNA and combining them with a donor’s egg.
  • Though the resulting child isn’t the first to be born with DNA from three parents, she is the first to have been conceived using this pronuclear transfer in vitro fertilization process. Read more
