's behind

On this day in music history: February 23, 1985 - “Diamond Life”, the debut album by Sade is released (UK release date is on July 16, 1984). Produced by Robin Millar, it is recorded at Power Plant Studios in Willesden, North West London from Late 1983 - Mid 1984. Formed out of the remanants of the Latin soul band Pride, Sade centers around its Nigerian born (and British raised) lead singer and lyricist Helen Folasade Adu along with guitarist and saxophonist Stuart Matthewman, bassist Paul Spencer Denman and keyboardist Andrew Hale. The band sign with the UK division of Epic Records and US subsidiary Portrait Records in the Fall of 1983. The album is issued in the US following its success in the UK, it spins off three singles including “Smooth Operator” (#5 Pop and R&B), “Hang On To Your Love” (#5 Club Play, #14 R&B), and “Your Love Is King” (#35 R&B, #54 Pop, #8 AC). US and UK versions of the album differ slightly, with the original UK release containing an earlier version of “Smooth Operator”. The US version contains the second recording of the track, first issued as a UK single, which becomes the common version around the world. First editions of the US vinyl LP come packaged in a gatefold jacket, which are discontinued briefly after its release, being replaced with a single pocket sleeve with the inner gatefold contents regulated to the inner sleeve. “Diamond Life” peaks at number three on the Billboard R&B album chart, number five on the Top 200, and is certified 4x Platinum in the US by the RIAA.

In regards to Mustang’s fight with Lust in Brotherhood, a lot of people don’t really talk about the scene where Riza tries to get out of Al’s arms while screaming for Roy. Most people say it’s because she’s running out to protect Roy.. but I think there’s another interpretation hidden behind that. It could also be because she’s trying to stop him from attacking Lust.

Remember those last lines that Lust said right before Mustang killed her?

His eyes were full of blood lust and revenge for what Lust was about to do to Riza. He wasn’t holding anything back or was willing to give Lust any mercy when killing her. This sounds familiar doesn’t it?

Yep. Mustang’s fight with Envy. And what does Riza do when she sees him going insane with blood lust and revenge?

She stops him. She knows he’s not just killing Envy because he’s one of the bad guys. He’s killing Envy and making sure his death is the worst torture imaginable by burning him to death, just like Lust.

Those aren’t the eyes of someone who is in need of help or is frightened. Roy knows his alchemy is powerful enough to kill and torture Lust, and Riza knows it too.

That’s why she tries to stop him. Just like the fight with Envy, once she sees that he’s going too far, she tries to call to him in order to get him to stop. They made a promise that she would stop him when he began to steer towards the wrong path, and in this moment he is doing exactly that. You can definitely say that the fight with Lust fueled Mustang’s blood lust throughout the rest of the series, shining the most in episodes 53 and 54.

Imagine tiny-tot amis Enjolras, Courfeyrac and Combeferre staging a mini-revolution in kindergarten because Grantaire needs more time to finish his little art projects and there just isn't enough free time to do so - according to Enjolras, Grantaire's art is extremely important as he desperately wishes to see a finished work of fingerpainting darn it! They all try to drag the rest of their little friends into the coup.

Okay so Grantaire is really bad at time managing and he’s been testing technique for finger painting and stuff, with his feet, with his hands, etc etc so he’s a bit behind.

So les Amis barricade the door with cushions and form a dam so that Grantaire can finish his fingerpainting in peace. Enjolras is very passionate about this, he’ll shout and make a mess to distract the teachers if he must.

They even managed to enroll the tiny Patron-Minette into this (more like Diaper-Minette imiright) by promising them candy, and Patron-Minette babies bites and don’t play nice, so that’s always an asset.

In the end, Grantaire manages to finish his fingerpainting and gives Enjolras a kiss on the cheek and Enjolras has led his first of many rebellions against authority :’)

The first time Percy was on a boat he couldn’t appreciate the sea in its entirety, the fresh air and scent of brine rushing over his face.

Sitting with Vex in the crow’s nest, warmed by the sun and her smile as she felt the breeze in her face, he appreciated the sea for the view it gave him.

The sight of Vex’s hair behind her, her eyes closed in pleasure, her cheeks pink with sun and wind, brought a warmth to his chest. He just stared for a few moments, then went back to sketching, glancing up at her every so often as they chatted.

Users are accusing game devs/pubs of not taking action against trolls/harassers/jerks/etc in their online games after sending reports on the assertion that banning 'em = cutting off potential recurring revenue streams of those troublesome users via DLC or microtransactions, F2P or retail (this notion is continually perceived as such regardless of being dealt w/ behind the scenes). I based it on NeoGAF topic id 1346676 on Overwatch. Thoughts? What differs those types of users from cheaters?

The only real difference is that griefers and cheaters break different rules. That’s about it. Remember, griefers are net negative when it comes to value to us - through their actions, they actually destroy more revenue (usually by chasing away other players) than they bring in. It’s in our best interests to stop them. And we do - usually, there is some sort of punishment. But there’s a lot you don’t see that’s actually going on behind the scenes that might make you feel like there’s a lot more toxicity than there actually is. There’s also cognitive issues that can crop up. But the main thing isn’t that we’re not willing to permanently ban people because we want their money, but that reforming toxic players is a lot better result than any other possibility.

So first, let’s talk about percentages in aggregate. Imagine that you’re playing a team multiplayer game like Overwatch, Dota, Counter-Strike or something along those lines - you join a game of 9 other random people. Let’s also say that you’ve had a lousy day and are on edge - maybe somebody cut you off while driving home, somebody took the last cupcake from the kitchen, you got an exam back with a lower score than you expected, or the girl you like turned you down for a date. Whatever the reason, you’re feeling angry and then you see Rando #7 do something stupid and losing the game for your team. Normally you would be fine, but your day is already so table-flipping awful that you just snap, cursing that player out. Congratulations, you were a jerk and ruined 9 other peoples’ game. But that’s ok. Most of the time you aren’t a jerk. Let’s say that 95% of the time you are not a jerk. But every so often you have a bad day, and it just happens. You’re only human, after all. We all get mad.

Well, assuming the other 9 people in the game are also as human as you (with a 95% chance of having a decent day), what’s the percentage that at least one person among all ten has a table-flippingly bad day? It’s actually about 40%. Two toxic games out of every five you play does can certainly give the impression that the community is awful… and that’s just via probability. It’s very common that toxic games cascade - by spreading the hate to the other 9 players, they turn on the frown beams in their next games too, triggering others who trigger others…  This can make the community seem like it’s a lot worse than it actually is - remember, all of the players in the original game are well-behaved 95% of the time

There’s also more to it than that. Game studios are at fault too, though not for the reason you think. A lot of gaming companies have a rather bad policy of never giving details about punishments to players. Most of the time, any sort of punishment we give (be it a warning, a temp ban, or a permaban) is often very vague. Punishment without a clear reason often leads to even worse behavior. Most of the time, it’s because they feel that they were unjustly punished… so they lash out. Riot’s done research into this with their Player Behavior team - 50% of players who were told why they were punished did not do it again. 70% of players who were shown evidence of their misdeeds did not relapse. But too many publishers and studios will hand down a vaguely-worded email or message without a clear reason. That’s frustrating, and it causes bad behavior.

Yes, there are some people who really are unrepentant jerks out there, and we do go after them when we see them. But there’s also a lot of people who are just having a bad day, or who didn’t get a clear reason why they were punished and act out on it. It isn’t really about the fact that they’re paying customers - it’s because they aren’t all jerks. Channeling player behavior in a positive direction isn’t easy, but it is something that publishers and devs are exploring.

Got a burning question you want answered?

On this day in music history: February 23, 1980 - “Crazy Little Thing Called Love” by Queen hits #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for 4 weeks. Written by Freddie Mercury, it is the first US chart topper for the British rock band. The idea for the song comes to Mercury while taking a bath in his room at the Munich Hilton. Quickly getting out of the bath, he runs to the piano and begins playing the chords, writing them down before he forgets them. The song is recorded at Musicland Studios in Munich, Germany during sessions for “The Game”. Initially, the bands US label Elektra Records refuses to release it. They do not think that the Elvis Presley inspired rocker will be a hit, and are also reluctant to release a single with no album accompany it immediately. But they are forced to when US radio stations begin playing imported copies of the 45, and listener demand for the record becomes too great to ignore. Issued as a single in early December of 1979, more than seven months ahead of the album, it becomes an immediate smash. Entering the Hot 100 at #58 on December 22, 1979, it climbs to the top of the chart nine weeks later. “Crazy Little Thing Called Love” is certified Gold in the US by the RIAA.

Could you do an HC with Newt about when his child hides in his case because they knew Newt would be traveling the next day and he doesn't realize it until he is already where he was traveling to.

Making this Newtina because I’m absolute trash for them right now.

Master list

-Newt would be halfway into his trip when he realized his kiddo tagged along.
-He’d be in his hotel room, and enter the case to check on his creatures. But, he’d hear some laughing coming from around the corner near Frank’s habitat.
-He’d walk around and see his son cuddled behind Frank’s wing, the Thunderbird nuzzling him with his beak.
-“Really?” Newt would ask, because this obviously wasn’t the first time this has happened.
-His son would look down, the sudden dread of being in trouble with his father filling him.
-“I know you said not to, but I really want to see Hawaii!”
-Newt would sigh, scratching his head and thinking of how badly Tina was going to yell at him when he got home.
-But, his son was already here. Might as well let the boy stay.
-“When did you sneak in?” He’d ask.
-The boy made a disgusted face. “When you and mum were kissing.”

Sorry I couldn’t think of Much lol 💝

out of curiosity, what's the back story behind the logo of lezhin? why is it a white doggo? is it a good pupper? what's his name?

Don Doggy! I’m going to copy and paste from our brand new FAQ page:

Don Doggy (돈독이)! One of the first comics featured on Lezhin was created by our CEO’s childhood friend, and one of the characters was a dog named Lezhin. There were lots of feels and long story short, Lezhin the dog became Lezhin’s logo and mascot. (We’ve even got a life-size Don Doggy in our office lobby). Later, in support of Lezhin, Sticky Lab Monster (http://www.stickylabmonster.com/) gifted us with what is now the Lezhin logo.

Can we talk about aftercare after a REALLY intense session with harry?!

He would scoop you up and kiss your temple, the bath already drawn with your favorite scented soak. Maybe he sets you down gently and you’re surrounded by heat and you sigh, but frown when he doesn’t get in.

“Harry” you say, barely audible.

“What is it, kitten?” He’s on the other side of the tub, sitting on the cold tile floor, kissing your hand he’s holding.

“Please ….” you’re almost close to tears you need him so badly, “need your touch”

And within a millisecond he’s behind you, you melt into his chest while he sponges kisses on your neck.

Restoration of Te Fiti was my favorite scene in the movie.
Occasionally, we do not think about what reason might be trapped behind someone’s hostility or antagonism.

Sure most people will act this way cause it’s just who they are, and to some, it might be an internal conflict that keeps them trapped in their unpleasant shell.
This scene was so important because while everyone saw Te Kā as this horrendous monster, Moana took her chance to see good in her and free her (Te Kā) of her unwanted self.
Not to mention the score of the scene, it’s so beautiful!!

Will we see Katarina Rostova back this season on The Blacklist? — Harlem

Yes! “In an unexpected way, she will come back and that’s going to be a really telling episode,” executive producer Jon Bokenkamp says. Could she actually be behind Red’s recent troubles? When I asked Bokenkamp whether Liz’s apparently dead mother would reappear in present day or just in flashback, he stayed coy. “I don’t think I should say that,” he says, “but she will be coming back.”

“Bellamy don’t look now, but she’s behind you.” Says Monty.

“Whose behind me?” Asks Bellamy cautiously.

“Bellamy, it’s (y/n).” He says slowly. Bellamy immediately whips his head around to see the love of his life that he thought to be dead after the Mount Weather explosion, alive. Although she looks rugged and beaten up, to Bellamy she is still the most beautiful girl in the world.

(y/n) looks up to meet his gaze, tears rolling down her face. “How.” Is all you manage to mouth out of pure shock. The guards come and tell you to get back to work.

Bellamy wipes the tears from his eyes and turns back to Monty. “ How do we get them out of here?”

Let me know what you think of these! This one is my favourite yet. Feel free to message me imagine requests!
