“I didn’t study”; translation by house:

Gryffindor: literally. Did not pick up a pen. Probably I slept in class. Someone takes notes for me.

Slytherin: I re-read all my notes like a mad man. Hours pouring over supplemental readings. I’ve drank so much coffee. So much. I don’t want to look like an anxiety ridden nerd though.

Hufflepuff: Me n’ the other puffs brought our notes and books down by the lake and sheafed through ‘em. Mostly drank butterbeer. We’re not too worried though, we pay attention in class.

Ravenclaw: ALL NIGHTER MOTHERFUCKER I GOT HOBBIES AND WE LIVE IN A MAGICAL FUCKING CASTLE OF ENDLESS MYSTERY THE HELL YOU MEAN STUDY WHO HAS TIME FOR THAT

“There are Grindylows , Selkies and a giant squid, which is semi-domesticated and permits students to tickle its tentacles on sunny days, when it basks in the shallows.“

An eagle flies through a rainbow as a storm clears one of the many small islands on Lake Vermilion. The fifth largest lake in Minnesota, Lake Vermilion contains over 75 small public land islands covered with birch, pine and spruce. Some of the islands have boat-in campsites, and many are only large enough for one site, ensuring that you can have an entire island to yourself!    The Bureau of Land Management works with the Bois Forte Band of Ojibwe (also referred to as Chippewa) to protect traditional-use areas and cultural sites on the islands. The lake is popular for fishing and contains a diversity of species including largemouth bass, muskellunge, northern pike and perch. Photo by Bob Wick, (@mypubliclands) Bureau of Land Management.

One of my absolute favourite waterfalls in the country. It’s only about a metre high, but when its back drop is the amphitheatre of Cwm Idwal and Devil’s Kitchen, it makes it one special place.

Strolling by the water at Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore in Indiana is a serene experience. The sun sparkles on the water and the breeze blows your troubles off your shoulders. Whether you enjoy scouting for rare species of birds or flying kites on the sandy beach, the national lakeshore’s 15,000 acres will continually enchant you. Even seeing the Chicago skyline 35 miles away across Lake Michigan makes it seem like the rest of the world is far away. Photo by National Park Service.
