'and i'll always be here for you'

If someone is wondering, we just had an 8.1 earthquake here in Mexico. A strong one indeed; until now there are no big damages to buildings and the most common thing is lack of electricity in some communities and a tsunami alert in some zones.

(As far as I know)

But all of our twitter and Facebook is filled with memes and funny relatable texts. We are always like that ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Update (no one sees the reblog with it): official sources say it was 8.2 The epicenter was Pijijiapan in Chiapas. There have been more than 200 replicas in a 4~6 degree range

Update 2 [!]: Reported deaths until now 61. (September 8, 17:41 pm) (this update can change the number if necessary)

Update 3: Telling by people’s reports on Twitter, Chiapas seems to be the most affected with several buildings collapsed or partially destroyed. It’s neighbor states suffer similar conditions. Some damages in the Mexico City international airport have been reported as well

Update 4: Classes have been suspended today Sept 8 in 11 states (Update) The IPN, UNAM (for today) and the ITESM (until new notice-mostly today-) have officially suspended classes; other universities are starting to reach out to their alumni. Since it’s exam season, try to locate your teachers to see if they know when will the exam will be reprogrammed. If you are already on your way to school, be careful and find a institution representative or check your school’s social media to confirm any labor suspension

Update 5: Not earthquake related but hurricane Katia (category 2) will arrive to Veracruz between today’s night and Saturday morning. Beware of big and strong waves in the zone and rain mostly in the middle of the country. Be EXTREMELY cautious when driving, accidents occur fast and frequent in this weather conditions.

-Some Emergency Numbers-
(Can call from any state): 911
Locatel: 5658-1111
Bomberos: 5768-2532
Fugas: 5654-3210

Always be brave.

How To Motivate Yourself To Write

This was meant to provide motivation, but honestly, this is more of a list of ways to make sure you get it done, rather than make yourself “motivated”. Either way, this should benefit you somehow.

  • In the words of Chuck Wendig, “do not fucking multitask”. Carve out a specific time to write and use it to write. Don’t try to simultaneously write and tweet and check your email. Whether it be 15 minutes or 2 hours, write, and only write.
  • Take breaks occasionally. You can’t just sit there and fog up your creative lens. Go outside and go for a walk. Go to coffee with your friends for an hour. Do something to relax your brain for a while. It’s the same with studying. Don’t drive yourself up the wall because you feel you’re “on a roll”. Your ideas and plans will still be there when you get back. If you begin to get frustrated or your foot starts to fall asleep, take a break.
  • Use a rewards system. Say, for every 100 words, you get a piece of chocolate. After eating a regular sized Hershey’s bar, you’ve got 1200 words. Go you! (I personally fine this incredibly useful.)
  • Have people you trust hold you accountable. Have your best friend (or partner, if you’ve got one) check in when they know you should be writing to make sure you did.
  • Read books like a writer. Read a shitty book and pick it apart to find what you don’t like about it. Read a good book to find what you do like. Use these reflections and apply them to your own work. Nothing helps quite like learning from other people’s mistakes and success.
  • Don’t get stuck in the planning stages. You may get really excited while planning a story, that huge plot twist, a minor character’s backstory, etc, but keep in mind that at some point you’re going to have to sit down and hash it out. A lot of promising writers never get past the planning stages, so in the words of my very wise boyfriend: “Just write”.
  • Write in places that make your creative juices flow. Get cozy in bed with your laptop open to a word document, light a few candles, make some tea, get that incense going, and write. Music really helps to get in the mood as well, and if you would like to take a look at my writing playlist, here it is, free for public consumption.
  • Keep your mind open to new ideas and changes to your story. Your idea will develop and evolve over time, and the beauty of writing is that you can change anything you want and there are no consequences. If you decide to completely scrap a character, remove a subplot, add one in, or change the plot but keep the same characters, you’re totally free to do so. Nothing about writing is set in stone, so stay open minded to new concepts and changes and, most importantly, criticism. (I won’t elaborate on this because I might end up making a whole other post about this topic in the future.)

As always, this is just a compilation of the tips and tricks I’ve found the most useful in my own experience. They may not help, they may help a lot, it really could go either way or somewhere in between, but all the same, I hope this proves useful to you.

Don’t apologize.
I understand.
You’re human.
I am too.
We struggle,
But never fail to pull through.
So while the struggle,
Might seem endless.
Don’t forget,
I’m here with you,
For you,
Every step, stumble, and bumble,
Along the way.
Everything.

I’m here.

Could you write a sterek fic where stiles and Derek are best friends who are pining for each other and stiles has a kid and Derek is like a father to the kid and the kid sees him that way and that kinda inspires stiles to make a move? :)

Hi, I hope you’re still following me, this ask is a hundred years old but I wrote it. I’m sorry, I’m trash! Kisses :**

It wasn’t supposed to go like this. Jason just wanted to have a good time with his friends, it was hard enough to convince his dad that he wouldn’t drink more than two beers, and then someone decided to light up fucking fireworks inside Mrs. Evans barn.

“I didn’t think the hay would burn!” Chris cries out and Jason wants to shove a chemistry book on his face.

His dad is never going to let him go out again.

“Oh no.” Alicia groans as the first firetruck comes into view followed closely by a police car.

Shit.

“I was never here!” Jason whispers, hiding behind Luke as soon as Derek steps out of the truck.

“Is there anyone else inside?” All his friends shake their heads and Derek nods, walking towards the burning building. “Erica, go to the back with Isaac. Boyd, you’re with me.” He orders his partners, then turns and stares straight at Luke. “I can see you, Jason.”

“Shit.” Jason mutters. He’s so fucked.

“Is there any chance you won’t tell my dad?” Jason asks, shivering under the jacket Derek gave him. Derek snorts and mutters something that sounds a lot like ‘keep dreaming’. “Please? I can wash your car every week for the rest of my life.”

“You’re going to do that any way.” Derek says. And he’s right, Jason loves Derek’s Camaro. He caresses the leather seat distractedly, looks out the window, his dad is going to be so disappointed. He hates seeing his disappointed face.

When Derek grabbed his shoulder once the fire was completely extinguished and guided him towards the firetruck, Jason thought he was safe. Derek is nice, he’s his godfather, he gave Jason his first beer, talked to him about safe sex after dad freaked out when Jason said he’d been watching porn since he was thirteen. Derek is cool.

Or he was because once they arrived at the station, he practically shoved Jason inside his car, saying he’d drive him home to help his dad kill him. Derek is not his favorite anymore.

“Did you tell him yet?” Jason asks as Derek parks in front of his house.

“No.” Derek answers, turning the engine off. “He’d freak out.” Jason nods, being the only child of a single parent has its ups, but it also has its downs. “Come on,” Derek squeezes his shoulder, “like a band-aid, right?”

“I don’t wanna hurt him.” Jason looks down at his hands. “Chris didn’t do it on purpose, and I – I thought we were only going to have a good time.”

“I know.” Derek says. “It was an accident, it happens. But it doesn’t mean that we won’t worry. We care about you.” When Jason looks up, Derek smiles softly before pulling him into a hug. “I changed your diapers. Unfortunately,” he adds, making Jason snort against his shoulder, “and I taught you how to play baseball. I was there when you broke your arm but sometimes I won’t be, and your dad won’t be either.” Jason sniffs, holds Derek’s shirt with both hands. “But we will always care about you.” Jason nods and they stay like that for a while.

Okay, Derek really is his favorite.

And I wish you would just tell me how you feel instead of me trying to figure it out because I don’t know what to think when one night we’re talking until 3 am and the next night you’re ignoring my calls. I don’t know what to think when one day you tell me everything will be alright and I’ll be ok and the next day you tell me to leave you alone. I don’t know what to think when you tell me you’ll always be here for me but when I need you, you disappear I don’t know what to think when it comes to you because one minute you’re here and the next minute you’re gone

If you don’t want to use animal parts or curse or whatever in your magic, that’s fine, but don’t go telling other people they can’t. And don’t act like your way is the only way that has ever been.

I’ve seen so many authors (and so many people on here 00) acting like magic that they personally don’t like just doesn’t exist.

Witchcraft has always used bones, fur, meat, and blood.

Witchcraft has always been used for personal gain.

Witchcraft has always been used to curse, hex, jinx, and cross.

Witchcraft has always used plants and herbs.

Witchcraft has always been used to heal.

Witchcraft can be used for good, for evil, or for neutral.

Do whatever you want with your magic, but don’t deny history.
