#TeachMeYouDid

On annual Star Wars Day, this incredible non-profit Imagine Better organized Teach Me You Did, a day to celebrate all the teachers and mentors that have helped shape us through our lives. Channel your inner Yoda and share your own stories of the teachers you appreciate with the hash tag, #TeachMeYouDid Heres mine:

Life is walking up a downward escalator. The second you stop moving, it drags you down. But if you push and trudge with all your efforts, you will rise to the higher steps.
This parable may have been one of the best pieces of advice I have ever learned. It was taught to me by Mrs. Bielory, a teacher I had in middle and high school.
Mrs. Bielory was the kind of person I could call at any hour to discuss anything that was bothering me. Even though I have not talked to her in a while, I will always remember and always be grateful to every life lesson she had taught me. I truly believe she was a teacher who helped shape me along the way.

Thank You Mr. Reese for fostering this love of myth and helping me to discover something I really enjoy learning about.

#TeachMeYouDid is a campaign that is asking folks to thank someone who was a great teacher and inspiration in their life. I was really inspired by a Spencer Reese who really understood and fostered my love for Harry Potter and the Monomyth. Both of these really connected me to a community which really impacted my life. Mr. Reese helped me connect to the historical importance and rich history to which Harry Potter and other monomyth stories are tied. This knowledge has lead to a fuller understanding of these works to which I feel so connected. And now this love has lead me to learn more on this topic and other philosophical pursuits.

“ Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life.” -Steve Jobs.  This quote helped me to become who I am today, To be proud of myself, and to enjoy every second of life.#TeachMeYouDid

Hey, @imagining-others-complexly, my new video is up! The folks over at @usrebelalliance recently asked us to do a video for their #TeachMeYouDid campaign, and I could think of no one better to do it on than my high school choir teacher.
