“I only allow myself one day to feel sorry for myself. People who complain really get on my nerves. When I’m not feeling my best I ask myself, ‘What are you gonna do about it?’ I use the negativity to fuel the transformation into a better me.”
I wrote my last album about the deep, sad, intense heartbreak I went through. This album is about after that, when you’ve figured it out. You like being alone and not because you’re hurt, not because you’re sad, but because it’s free.
First of all, I think it’s really important for you to get to know yourself. I feel like a lot of the times we’re so hard on ourselves and we kind of don’t realize that we don’t see each other at the moments where we’re the most beautiful and we’re the most special, like you don’t see yourself talking about something that you’re passionate about and the look in your eyes when you talk about something that you’re excited about. We don’t see ourselves with our biggest fears and things that really makes us who we are and makes us special. So I think it’s important to realize that those are the things that make you, you. And what you have isn’t what everybody else has, it’s different so that’s what to think about and also think of yourself as your own best friend and be there for yourself, be kind to yourself.
Today it’s karukara‘s birthday—your birthday since this is for you. Yes, for you because I admire you, like you and respect you + I want you to be happy and I hope this will in fact make you happy.
To be honest at first I was thinking about drawing you with one of “the boys” but then I realized that portraying you surrounded by those you’re really into NOW would be a better idea and would be way more meaningful, somehow. And I tried. My intention, just so you know, was to draw you with Nick and Ellis… (because of NELLIS) and I hope they are actually them ya know eheh ‘cause I don’t know the game and *insert stupid blablablas*—but seriously, happy birthday Karu, I love you so much.
“Absolution is the washing away of sin. The promise of rebirth. And the chance to escape the transgressions of those who came before us. The best among us will learn from the mistakes of the past, while the rest seem doomed to repeat them. And then there are those who operate on the fringes of society, unburdened by the confines of morality and conscience. A ruthless breed of monsters whose deadliest weapon is their ability to hide in plain sight. If the people I’ve come to bring justice to cannot be bound by the quest for absolution, then neither will I.”
