As protests start ramping up and violence escalates please remember:
DO NOT PUT MILK IN YOUR EYES FOR PEPPER SPRAY OR TEAR GAS.
It can and will cause infection due to bacteria. Flush with water, distilled if possible, and never EVER wear contact lenses to protests where there may be police retaliation.
Please reblog. It may save someone's sight.
Water reactivates pepper spray and it will hurt like hell. Use saline. It will still hurt like hell but you'll get it over with faster. Here's another link with treatment solutions.
jesus these cutscenes are REALLY long
First you procrastinate on the task because it is not a big enough deal to get done urgently. Then you procrastinate on the task because it has become such a big deal that doing it is overwhelming. You would think that this implies a middle point where it is just big enough of a deal to get done easily, however the inherent perversity of the universe's causal geometry prevents this

On the night Iran attacked, a 7 years old Bedouin girl got hurt. She's still hospitalized. As far as I know, she's stable.
The village her family lives in is unrecognized by Israeli authorities, and while she's in the hospital, a demolition order was issued on their house.
This got on Israeli news.
Israelis went "hey what the fuck."
Less than an hour later, that demolition order got scrapped.
So when we care, things happen.
Makes me even angrier for all the injustices we don't get outraged over. From other demolitions of Bedouin homes, to... everything. Just everything.
What are the odds they will put up the order again when nobody is looking? It's not like the village got recognized, is it?
It definitely can happen.
I'm following an Israeli organization, Tag Me'ir, that's apparently trying to help the family.
Tag Me'ir started as a counter to Tag Mechir. Tag Mechir means "price tag" and it's Israeli terrorists (West Bank settlers I think, at least I remember wide support in those settlements when I was there) wanting to make attacks against Israelis more costly by attacking Palestinians in retaliation. Tag Mechir died down as far as I know as a "movement" but revenge attacks still happen. Tag Me'ir means "light tag" and their slogan is "spread light instead of terror" - what they're doing is trying to support who they can. A lot of the things they do are symbolic, but I think they offer real help too. For example, a Palestinian man in East Jerusalem was attacked recently, and they're apparently helping him have legal support.
They'll hopefully be keeping an eye on the family too so it won't just go unnoticed if the authorities decide to issue that demolition order again.
Okay, so y'all know the phenomenon where American media companies say they can't produce queer stories because they'll just get censored in foreign markets? It's transparent as hell, because the dominant culture of the United States is still violently queerphobic, and in many cases, state queerphobia in other countries is the direct result of Christian imperialism. The US is not the enlightened gay haven in a world of evil homophobic foreigners, and trying to pretend that American media can't be too gay because it'll be censored overseas is asinine. We all know that, right?
Anyway, today I learned that there is an episode of the Australian cartoon Bluey that has been censored in the United States because it shows the dad character pretending to be pregnant and have a baby as part of a game of pretend. Disney refuses to air it on the Disney Channel or on Disney+. It has been made available on YouTube by the Australian rights holders.
So let's quit fucking pretending that Disney is actually scared of foreign censors, hm? The queerphobic censorship is coming from inside the House of Mouse, and it always has been.

as newspapers today dont tend to hire children, a modern day Tintin would run a clickbait YouTube channel, except the clickbait is 100% real every single time
he starts off as an irritating conservative pundit at 14, meets Chang then leaves the think tank paying him and launches his own independent channel and blows up shortly after. Chang helps with video editing and managing his socials and they often chat on video calls between adventures. Haddock, his foster dad, has absolutely no knowledge of his earlier videos.
