hey full offense but the ‘use the right pronouns even if the person is horrible!’ statements arent made to coddle horrible ppl, its saying ‘dont view correct pronouns as a fucking privilege that can be taken away once people decide you’ve fucked up enough’, misgendering someone on purpose is transphobic no matter what bc it equates transphobia as a ‘punishment’ for bad people, pronouns are a part of baseline human respect, its that simple
last night i dreamt that jerma streamed himself hiking in this beautiful glade and went exclusively by she/her pronouns during it, then back to he/him afterward. there was a lot of hype for the she/her hiking stream and everybody loved it
it bears repeating in a more gentle manner but in the nicest way possible, there is a really issue with discrepancy when you talk about issues happening in different countries. when it’s anti-trans/gay laws in north america and western europe, it becomes “genocide”. when other countries, like mine, have jail and death penalties for being gay explicitly, it becomes a matter of “oh it’s illegal there” and sometimes, insidiously, “that’s just how they are, they’re less progressive.” and i need you all to know this is white supremacy talking and i, a gay person living in a country under the threat of death penalty, am as much of a victim as you are.

about how western europeans/north americans gays will discuss moving to some very rich other first world country without recognizing the privilege that is to have a right passport (even if you’re broke) to be considered eligible to even move there, while the rest will fight over scraps for barely better conditions. how they somehow expect these countries to just accept them, to carve out a place for them, after all, they’re from the good stock (tm).
how they don’t really understand the billions of rules their countries have to “proof” your country is homophobic enough to allow you refuge, they seem genuinely surprised when somebody tells them usa homophobia can’t be considered dangerous, like this is a first time they understand immigration problems.
how they will call their laws genocidal, but nor ours, that’s just how we are, that’s normal for us, because acknowledging us means acknowledging their governments deporting us back to our deaths and violence.
how much of this violence has been caused by their world in the first place, its the butchering of cultures, it’s a reaction to their politics, it’s a way to distance yourself from them.
how my people’s homophobia somehow means their government can still dehumanize us, because, see how bad and backwards these people are, are they really as valid as us?
