Making a post on romancing Astarion that no one asked for!

I see a lot of people who say “I want to romance Astarion but I don’t want to play an evil character!” Good news! You don’t have to be evil! Tbh, you don’t even have to be that big of a dick to get his approval.

What I found in Early Access, Astarion doesn’t necessarily always approve of the most “evil” options (not to say he disapproves either), but rather he tends to approve of the selfish or most interesting options. He has a one track mind: help himself and screw everyone else. And if he can see some funny/chaotic stuff while he’s at it, he’s gonna want to see it.

The biggest things for his approval are just generally supporting him (letting him drink Tav’s blood, protecting him from the monster hunter, showing genuine interest in him). Those are the big ones. Just about all the little approvals fall into the description above.

Anyways, that is my mini, barebones guide to romancing Astarion. I’ve played through Early Access several times as a good character and almost always get High or Exceptional approval with him without being a total dick.
