I keep thinking about Another Zane’s “you hate that? Yeah, you hate that” when he calls Lupo “JoJo” for the first time because it’s such a big moment for both of them. Like. Her world is being rocked because the pieces are starting to align a little bit, she’s basically just been thrown into the realisation that things are slowly starting to go back to how they should have been. He’s using a nickname for her that Original Zane used, and it’s terrifying and exciting and she doesn’t know what to do with it. And he picks up on that. And he gets ready to backpedal. Asshole, wind-up merchant, lives-to-piss-people-off Zane Donovan has a moment of gearing up to backpedal. He sees her reaction, but obviously he doesn’t understand it, and his first thought is that he’s uncovering something that he shouldn’t, that he’s completely unintentionally reopened an old wound, and he’s ready to take it back. And then he realises that she isn’t distressed, she’s just floundering a little. He hasn’t upset her, he’s just caught her off guard. He assumes that she’s pissed off at him undermining her authority, but not in a way that’s going to actually affect her or bring up bad memories. And so in true Zane Donovan style, he doubles down.

My little sister is NOT a comic book fan and has never really understood my obsession with Superman. But she knew today's the 85th anniversary, so she bought me this awesome "Story of Superman" magazine and dropped it off after I got out of work. The fact that she doesn't get fandoms or fannish hobbies at all and yet wanted to help me celebrate a day that means a lot to me... idk I just really appreciate her trying to support my interests like that. <3
