Shrieking Terror Medium aberration, neutral evil Armor Class 18 (natural armor) Hit Points 97 (15d8 + 30) Speed 5 ft., fly 40 ft. Str 13, Dex 18, Con 15, Int 5, Wis 12, Cha 8 Damage Immunities poison Damage Resistances cold, fire, lightning Condition Immunities prone, poisoned Senses darkvision 60 ft. passive Perception 11 Languages Infernal Challenge 10 (5900 XP) Multiple Heads. The shrieking terror has five heads. While it has more than one head, the shrieking terror has advantage on saving throws against being blinded, charmed, deafened, frightened, stunned, and knocked unconscious. Whenever the shrieking terror takes 25 or more damage in a single turn, one of its heads dies. If all its heads die, the shrieking terror dies. At the end of its turn, it grows two heads for each of its heads that died since its last turn, unless it has taken fire damage since its last turn. The shrieking terror regains 5 hit points for each head regrown in this way. If the shrieking terror has more than five heads, the extra heads wither and die after 1 hour. The shrieking terror cannot have more than ten heads at any time. Actions Multiattack. The shrieking terror uses its Shriek if it is able to. It then makes five bite attacks. Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 7 (1d6+4) piercing damage plus 10 (3d6) poison damage. The target must succeed on a DC 15 Constitution saving throw or its hit point maximum is reduced by an amount equal to the damage taken. This reduction lasts until the target finishes a long rest. Shriek (Recharge 6). The shrieking terror lets out a horrifying shriek. Each humanoid and beast within 60 feet of the vargouille and able to hear it must succeed on a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw or be frightened of the shrieking terror for 1 minute. If the saving throw fails by 5 or more, the target is also stunned while frightened in this way.The target may repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. If a target’s saving throw is successful or the effect ends for it, the target is immune to the Shriek of all shrieking terrors for 1 hour. Kiss. The shrieking terror kisses up to five incapacitated humanoids within 5 feet of it. Each target must succeed on a DC 14 Charisma saving throw or become cursed. A cursed target loses 1 point of Charisma after each hour, as its head takes on fiendish aspects. The curse doesn’t advance while the target is in sunlight or the area of a daylight spell; don’t count that time. When the cursed target’s Charisma becomes 2, it dies, and its head tears from its body and becomes a vargouille. Casting remove curse, greater restoration, or a similar spell on the target before the transformation is complete can end the curse. Doing so undoes the changes made to the target by the curse.
Formed from a fusion of hydras and vargouilles, shrieking terrors share aspects of both creatures. They were bred for war on Carceri but can be found on other planes as well. Some vargouilles revere shrieking terrors, others attack them, seeing them as perversions of vargouille-kind. Shrieking terrors have a wingspan of roughly 8 feet and weigh about 200 pounds. Though rare, sightings of ten-headed terrors have been reported.
Originally from the Monster Manual III. If there is a monster from 3.5 or Pathfinder that you want to see converted to 5e, feel free to send me a message or submit a monster request on the submit page. I have gotten to many requests, many are works in progress and are completed but simply need workshopping before release.
FOXFOLK & KITSUNE — hi guys! it’s been a while, but here’s some new races i’ve been debating and toying with for a long time, the Foxfolk and Kitsune. Awhile back, I got a suggestion to do a fox based race and I couldn’t decide whether what i wanted to base them off of, more of the Kitsune spirit in Japan or fey tricksters… so I just did both.
There’s a lot of overlap in mechanics and as for my ideas on appearance, I went back and forth between something more “anime” or amphomorphic, so in the end, one got one and the other got the other. That’s totally a flavoring that is mix and match and the end result up to you.
i’ve been having issues with converting my documents to pdfs and then images to post directly onto tumblr so the quality might be a little bit wonky. If you can’t see it well, click the gmbinder link!
feedback is always welcome and if you enjoy my ko-fi is here.
SANGUINE SORCERY— hey y’all! i’m here with a pretty gruesome sorcerer subclass that’s actually a revamp of one of the first subclasses i ever posted! it’s pretty damage and resource management heavy and is actually something i’m also playing at the moment so it’s likely going to be subject to some tweaks and changes. i included a few homebrew spells however, i think the usage of an additional spell list and flavoring of those spells really works for a whole blood manipulation angle. i hope you enjoy the concept of playing a body-manipulating blood sorcerer!
edit: typos fixed, range added to blood sense, and stipulations added to crimson manipulations.
feedback is always welcome and if you enjoy my ko-fi is here.
CIRCLE OF THE HARVEST — hey! here’s my take on a spooky Halloween themed druid. I had a lot of fun doing this and i think it’s a pretty balanced take on a melee druid! i also hope y’all enjoy the scythe homebrew, i think it’s something a lot of people have done but i rather like my take on it.
Here is a commission for @markthe3 who requested a bloody, assassin-themed subclass for those that pledge themselves to Bhaal. I had a lot of fun with it and liked it so much that I even added a special pact boon and might be designing a character for this archetype myself!
If you’d like to support Black Lives Matter and get a little bit of homebrew in the process, check out my post here!
hi there! i saw you posting about your dm screen for your campaign. i’m really wanting to dm a campaign online but i’m not sure how to go about setting up my dm screen on my computer. how do you set yours up, and what kind of stuff do you put on it?
ideally i would be using onenote but i do not want to pay for it so. alas alack. here is my real DM setup.
i use 5etools for my DM screen proper! i keep statblocks, certain stuff i always forget (conditions, travel time, etc), random roll tables, in-game notes for later, a dice roller, and an initiative tracker on there. for sunday’s session, it looks like this! (censored because my players are here)
for notes, i use bear, which gives me a sort of tagging system for all my stuff & helps me sort through lore better. i also use D&D Beyond’s encounter planner for when i am not in the mood to do monster DC math.
for players, i use DDB as a sort of campaign hub--i keep track of the in-game date and time on there.
also discord. here are my channels for that.

Lore planning!
I have found out a really useful site/app called Lucidchart! It helped me to plan out my characters‘ relations after I have fleshed out some ideas for my dragon clans. Now when I’ll be writing bios for particular characters I won’t get confused with their interactions and stories! Here’s how the general chart of all factions looks like:
This one is a more detailed outline of the positive relationships in one clan:
And now the same clan, but negative relationships:
This site allows a lot of customization, there’s a nice mobile app and you can also make multiple pages (like sheets in Google Docs) that are super comfy! They have a nice app, too. Plus, see that tiny yellow icon near Tenebris on the last two pictures (on the bottom left)? Those are comments. You can literally shove unlimited info and notes under your dragons names in a chart! So uh… I’m excited if you couldn’t tell. This really helped me out, to be honest.

Recently I’ve decided to step away from creating more convoluted and expansive adventures, most of the campaigns I’ve DM’ed were played over the span of a year or more, and started focusing on designing more compact adventures. Drawing up battlemaps that are the basis for what could amount to a side quest basically, like this map of the Roadstop Inn.
The original idea was to draw up a simple Tavern and/or Inn, one I could use for any skirmish taking place in either, but as I was sketching out my layout I couldn’t resist trying to add more layers to the design. I started mapping it out with horror stories like “The Chainsaw Massacre” or “Psycho” in the back of my mind. A place run by killers, either actual humanoids or creatures that can easily take the guise of humanoids, who kill their tenants with a nefarious purpose or simply for the fun of it
The kind of spot where a party runs in to some lovely NPC’s, whose bodies they end up finding at the bottom of that water well. A water well I had planned on expanding on in a later map, either for a small monster fight or an expanded dungeon that runs underneath.
Hey everyone! We’ve got more seafaring maps this week, including a shipyard where you can kidnap your favorite ships from. Also included are half a dozen ships, a park square, and an inn!
Much thanks to the support of our awesome patrons! (:
