i understand the impulse to recommend a wizard of earthsea to people who were into harry potter because of the fact that it's one of the most well known novels to use the concept of a school for wizards, but still, that alone feels like a very shallow similarity to me and really not enough to draw a comparison, if only because earthsea is a magical world with an incredibly solid worldbuilding that also has a magical school in it, while harry potter in it's essence IS the magical school and everything else that exists in that magical world is made to prop that up (which is why jkr so clearly struggles to write anything that's outside of hogwarts, as the fantastic beasts movies proved to everyone)
