Men are not bad. Even if they're cis, het, white, abled, christian, and whatever other privileged identity that can be applied. Men can be bad, but badness is not a male trait. It is not inherent nor exclusive to men. There are amazing men. There are horrible women. No characteristics are inherent to any gender. It is okay, wonderful even, to be a man. Just like it is with any other gender.

It is actually way better for 100 addicts to get their fix on pain pills than a single person in pain go without. I call this the "Torture is bad" principle. You should be able to get the good stuff forever after a single doctor's visit. If you're worried about addicts fund rehab centers and needle exchanges instead of torturing people.
It's not just pain pills either. Like I use valium for dislocations and for motion sickness and I have to do a urine drug test and sign papers saying I won't get similar drugs from other doctors (without informing her mostly). And I get it, like she's doing her best and I'd rather that then the straight up no I got from other doctors.
There r just so many ways to help addicts without punishing everyone? Especially bc most addicts aren't gonna be like 'oh no this doctor said no I guess I'm cured now' ??
One of the best doctors I’ve had (who helped me get my wheelchair among other things) was formally sanctioned for giving a chronic pain patient pain medication because the patient then intentionally overdosed. His approach had always been “If you’re in pain that’s bad and we should do something about it.” But apparently he’s to blame because one of his patients decided to kill themselves and used the easiest method available to him. He is no longer allowed to prescribe pain meds.
The whole damn system is set up to torture people in pain.
