At what age do you stop losing every pair of earrings you've ever owned?

It takes extraordinary ignorance for some men to claim that it is feminism that teaches women that all men are potential rapists. Women have been teaching each other this for probably forever. It’s the first thing my not-at-all feminist parents taught me about men. When our...

My mom actively shuns the feminist label and she definitely taught me to be scared of men.

Mom: You don’t shave your legs OR your armpits? Me: No Mom: Are you serious? Personal hygiene! Me: Yeah? Personal hygiene? Then make my brother shave too.

The fact that this is actually getting notes is so beautiful, man.

I do not believe in the concept of the “slut.” I do not believe a woman who enjoys sex, enjoys talking about sex, has a lot of partners, or wears little to no clothing is bad, sullied or morally deficient.

I do think we need to ask ourselves: where does the authentic expression of female sexuality as a source of creativity begin, and the heteronormative objectification of the female form in a misogynistic industry end? What is art, and what is bargaining with the patriarchy? And when it comes to women of color, especially black women, a group that has historically had the mantle of hypersexuality unwillingly foisted upon our person, what is liberation and what is oppression?

I really wish I had the answers.
