the fact that people can see me makes me kinda uncomfortable not gonna lie
hey so protip if you have abusive parents and need to get around the house as quietly as possible, stay close to furniture and other heavy stuff because the floor is settled there and it’s less likely to creak
- socks are quieter than bare feet on tile/wood and for the love of god don’t wear slippers/shoes if you can help it
- climbing ON the furniture will disrupt the pattern of your footsteps and make it harder to hear where you are in the house
- crawling will do the same and if you get caught crawling you can pretend you fell
- the floor near the wall can be really loud if the floorboards/carpet is old and not completely flush to the wall
- do NOT attempt to use a rolling chair to travel without footsteps. they are extremely loud and hard to steer

Here’s one of the reasons I don’t buy the cynical interpretation that Ariel gives up her identity for a man.
This screencap comes from her introductory scene. She’s searching through a shipwreck for human artifacts–which is her passion–when suddenly she’s attacked by a shark.
While fleeing, she accidentally drops her bag full of artifacts right in the shark’s path. Without hesitating, she chooses her passion over her safety, risking her life for a dinglehopper.
The girl is an anthropologist who studies humans. That’s her passion, that’s how she spends her time…that’s her identity.
Sure, Eric is the catalyst that leads Ariel to changing her species and leaving her family–he certainly intensifies her feelings–but they’re feelings she already has, and they dictate most of her life.
If Ariel had the chance to become a human before she met Eric, everything that we know about her suggests that she probably would.
Ariel is an anthropologist, I stand by this

Triton: Fuck your passion! Ariel: okay
it took me a second to understand the brilliance of that last reblog

When people dislike the colder seasons it’s something I truly don’t understand. What’s not to love about being rugged up so tight even your soul is warm. What’s not to love about misty mornings, damp forests, moss and mushrooms - like you’re living a fairytale. Candles, wood fire, cinnamon, steamy soup, hot chocolate. What’s not to love about fresh rainy days, that pitter patter on your roof. I’m never happier than I am in the cold seasons, summer just isn’t my type.

as much as i love the trope of a character falling fast and hard for someone, i also love the subtle descent where they don’t really think about it; where that person is just kind of there until one day they realize that person is so ingrained in their lives and they cannot do without them. where there is no conscious effort on either ends to become romantically involved but somehow the thought of them being with someone else is disconcerting. where “i enjoy being with you” unwittingly turns into “i want to be with you”
Languages are made up can you believe that? it’s just a bunch of phonetic sounds gibberish none of it actually means anything. this post??? i could smash my hand on the keyboard and it could mean the same thing, it only doesn’t because we say so. Nothing is real
What if all the scenarios we make up in our mind are actually real events happening in an alternative universe and we’re actually connecting with our alternative self’s mind?
i get nervous when my battery drops lower than 70% and i think that says a lot about the kind of person i am

Ezra Klein asks just what kind of person Donald Trump is (and if you don’t know the answer by now, you never will)
The unfortunate fact is that Hillary haters and Trump supporters are so blindsided by their anger and their need to blame someone or blame Democrat party that they will still somehow manage to look pass this new ridiculous thing Trump just said. This is the reason why I’m so worried about this election!
