Tarot Cards

There are a total of 78 tarot cards. Out of those 78, 22 cards are from the Major Arcana while the rest are Minor Arcana cards.

Major Arcana cards are the major forces of the card deck, if they appear during divination it is not something to be underestimated. Major Arcana cards are unsuited. The Major Arcana cards are (listed with their archetypes):

it really helps your tarot readings as well understanding this, as well as understanding the zodiac since they’re pretty linked. here’s what i wrote delving into aquarius a little more ages ago:

Aquarius, the water bearer, is correlated with The Startarot card. In the Rider Waite deck the card shows a woman holding two jugs filled with water, she is pouring one in to a body of water and the other on to land, which flows into five rivulets.

Her eyes are focused on the body of water and has one foot placed in their despite kneeling on the land. The body of water represents humankind, and shows that it is where her focus lies – she want to fuel and provide for the world as whole, to make the world a better place. She is very idealistic and will rebel against anything they see as wrong. However, since she is above it with only one foot in the water it also shows that she is disengaged. Sometimes, even thinking she is ‘above’ others – in daily life often referred to as a God Complex, commonly associated with Aquarius. 

The five rivulets represent the five senses. This portrays the archetypal Aquarian detachment from mundane earthly existence; their beliefs are focused more on the universal. The downside to this is that earthly life is just as important as universal values. This combined with their detachment from the water (humankind) means that they can struggle interpersonally with their peers, forgetting that everyone that makes up civilisation is an individual, complex being – just like them.At times, they resent this detachment, feeling like they have been purposely out casted from society – the Aquarian will then either make a point of being different or desperately try to fit in.​In the sky there shines one, large yellow star surrounded by seven more, portraying the chakras. This represents the Aquarians understanding of the human condition and their need to make a spiritual connection with something that is larger than life.

The Birth Chart

The birth chart (which is broken down into 12 parts or housed) start with the zodiac wheel. This wheel represents ones life cycle and personal development. It starts with the Ascendsant or Rising Sign. The Ascendant is always on the left side of the wheel and then we work our way conterclockwise through the houses.

The Ascendant is marked by where the sun was rising east the moment you were born. For the person or chart on the left it was Cancer for you it could Capricorn or any of the ten other possibilities.This determines the layout of all your houses therefore it is crucial to know your time of birth. East is always shown on the left and North is always shown on the bottom. Like you might see in the second image we can now visualize an axis. The left axis the Ascendant. the bottom axis the Immum Coeli, the right axis the Descendant, and the top is the Midheaven.

  • The Ascendant which I like to think of as the start point of a chart. The ascendant is widely known as representing one’s mask. Their physical appearance, the persona they give out to the world, other peoples first impressions of you. Some say the masks slips away when you get to know them. I like to think the Ascendant holds more importance than that. This is the sign of your first house, the house of ego and personality. Part of what you Identify with. Often times its planetary rule is the Plantary ruler for your whole Birth Chart.
  1. Aries said to have arched eyebrows and stylish appearance. Impatient.
  2. Taurus said to be conventional and attractive with broad shoulders.
  3. Geminis said to be slender and fashionable with a quickness about them.
  4. Cancers said to have round faces and a carefree appearance.
  5. Leo’s are usually muscular with beautiful manes and noticable dress code.
  6. Virgos are said to slender with oval faces and a nest apperance and windows peak hair line.
  7. Libras are said to be very symmetrical with charming appearance and thin hair.
  8. Scorpios are said to have penetrating eyes a dark appearance and seductive dress code.
  9. Saggittarius are said to be tall with big foreheads and a casual dress code.
  10. Capricorns are said to be thin and boney witch a clear complexion and laughter lines. They dress formally.
  11. Aquarians are said to have strong bodies with a centric and offbeat hair cues and outfits.
  12. Pisces are said to have dreamy eyes eloquent eyes and feminine dress sense.
  • The Immum Coeli which is oddly not often noted or emphasized the darkest hour of your birth. It is considered part of your unconscious. What was carried with you before you were born. It is connected to the parent with whom you had the most attachment, and your childhood.
  • The Descendant Is opposite the Ascendant and thus holds the opposite meaning. Where the Ascendant is the starting point for the self the descendant represents other or others. Many associate this as representing your romantic partner. I like to think of it in other ways. I see it as the shadow self, that which you must learn to intergrate into yourself to find peace and harmony as well as representation of the type of associations you allow into your life. The dynamic nature between you and others.
  • Midheaven is often seen as the second most important point in your chart next to the ascendant. It Mark’s where the sun was highest when you were born and thus speaks to your capacity for you life’s greatest achievement. Many people use this point to guess their vocation in life. Really the M.C. is about your public image, achievements and goals which may not be intertwined to your career.
  1. Aries careers may include government officials such as police, firemen, armed forces, also laborers, tool men, trainers, extreme sport enthusiast.
  2. Taurus careers may include agricultural work, farming, architects, gardening, reastate, home design, computer programming, banking, sculpting
  3. Gemini careers may include writing, journalism, media spokesmen, researcher librarian, scholar, teacher, theater and film production.
  4. Cancer careers may include nursing, home health care, social work, business owner, chef, realtor, home maker, craftmen.
  5. Leo careers may include performance art, acting, dancing, gambling, advertising, child care.
  6. Virgo careers may include technical work and analysis, computer programming, health care work, veterinarian work.
  7. Libra careers may include legal work, counseling, diplomats, judges. lawyers, managers, also artistic work including cosmetics.
  8. Scorpio careers may include research, investigation, journaling, detective work, funeral home directions, insurance work, occultism, spiritual healers, pathologist and chemist.
  9. Sagittarius careers may include traveling, airline work, foreign affairs and policies, language translation, scholarly work, anything athletic.
  10. Capricorn careers may include administrative work, management, vocational counseling, buying and selling, property ownership.
  11. Aquarius careers may include scientific research and study, humanitarian careers, any type of space or NASA work.
  12. Pisces careers may include anything artistic or spiritual. Work for institutions such as church, prisons or hospitals.
Now the quadrants.

The first quadrant on the bottom left I like to think of as early childhood development and Intrapersonal involvement. Here we have the houses of Self, Values, and Communication. In the Secondant quadrant we have Youth. Houses of Unconsciousness, Talents, and Work. The Third being marked adulthood and intrapersonal involvement. Houses of Partnership, Death, and Higher Learning. Lastly the fourth quadrant of old age and universal involvement. House of Vocation, Belonging, and Karmic Debt.

Now that we have a basic understanding of the Birth Chart We can go in depth on the 12 houses in the next post.

The beautiful aquamarine fills your head with knowledge of the sea, biological facts and lore. More importantly it actually gives you a sense of confidence to be more honest and forward with others.

Colors of Aquarius

Aquarius is associated with the color Blue. Blue is connected to intellectual stimulation, tranquility, and the stimulation of creativity. It’s also equated to wisdom, confidence, eternity, power, and integrity, and is quite a relaxing hue.

This Zodiac Sign is also connected to purple and indigo, which are both well known for both calming down one’s nerves and alleviating their fears, along with stimulating intuition, spiritual energy, and psychic abilities.
