I really despise the fact that people trash musicians and label them as freaks, drug addicts, alcoholics, and etc. It really pisses me off. You know what? Those “freaks”, “drug addicts”, “alcoholics” saved many peoples lives, including my own. Music saves lives. Those musicians and their music were there for me more times than I can count and still are to this day. They are a part of my life. I will never be more thankful enough for them and their art.

the worst part of being in my 20s is being about as old as all of my idols were when they started making brilliant and indelible contributions to our culture like thanks for that

asoiaf & got characters // pt. X - Daenerys Targaryen (ver. I)

“If I had wings, I would want to fly too, Dany thought. The Targaryens of old had ridden upon dragonback when they went to war. She tried to imagine what it would feel like, to straddle a dragon’s neck and soar high into the air. It would be like standing on a mountaintop, only better. The whole world would be spread out below. If I flew high enough, I could even see the Seven Kingdoms, and reach up and touch the comet. […] If Daenerys had been weak, she would have perished with Viserys. I know she is fierce. Astapor, Yunkai and Meereen are proof enough of that. She has survived assassins and conspiracies and fell sorceries, grieved for a brother and a husband and a son, trod the cities of the slavers to dust beneath her dainty sandalled feet.”

good shit: when a character with a reputation for being selfish and uncaring gets injured while doing something to protect others

good shit: when they pretend they’re not injured and did nothing to protect anyone, because they want to keep up that selfish reputation

good shit: when the characters they were protecting only find out about any of this when the character collapses from the injuries they’re trying to hide
