Well, if you're still going to judge people shipping something not even problematic, I can't stop you. And being uncomfortable because of the age gap and maya's age in the first game, and not wanting to interact? Valid.

But being hateful and calling us pedo/grooming enablers? You're wrong on that one, antis.

Boy, this scene had me emotional. Yusaku and Theodore care so much about their Ignis. Some of this dialogue hits hard. 

It’s good to have the dub airing again. I needed it.  

The VRAINS dub is surprisingly really good. Less censorship than normal, good voice acting, generally good writing. Best dub since the original DM in my opinion!

there’s a post that’s like “its amazing how much you can get done if you just sit down and focus” with a second comment thats like “imagine being nt” and it has like thousands of notes but the op has adhd and was talking about how their meds were working really well there’s another post that’s like “how do you block gay men on okcupid” or something with a reply like “have you tried christianmingle” and it has thousands of notes but the op was a trans girl who wanted to avoid chasers there’s another post that’s like “date a quiet boy who will bring you a glass of water in the middle of the night” with a reply making fun of her “low standards” that has thousands of notes but the op was a teenage girl who was in an abusive relationship at the time that she made that post (and the reply was made by a grown man who had to apparently had to dig through months of this girl’s posts to find that one post & make fun of her for it so: yuck) point is, can we please stop making these assumptions about total strangers on this site, harassing them over innocuous posts theyve made that have been misinterpreted by literal hordes of random people and unless somebodys being outright hateful and disrespectful can we leave each other alone and mind our own business lmao

So I have read several people complaining that they can't be expected to know the "unwritten rules" of fandom. So here's what I wish people knew:

Fanfiction is fiction.

Fictional people are not real.

Fictional people do not have rights.

Fictional people cannot be abused.

Reading or writing about something does not mean the desire to do or support it in the real world.

If I find art upsetting/triggering/disgusting/outraging/unpleasant/squicky/distressing/offensive, it is on me not to read it, not the creators and hosts to remove it.

Curate your own experience. The back buttons exist for a reason.

If you don't trust yourself to do that, get someone you trust to do it for you.

Fandom is an adult space. Adults create and own and host fandom spaces. If minors want to participate, then the onus is on them and their parents/guardians/trusted adults to ensure they participate appropriately, not on strange adults to stop being adults.

You often don't know the assault status or mental health status or neurotype or race or nationality or religion or gender or sexuality or age of a creator or consumer, and they do not have to disclose to you to justify their fantasy.

AO3 is not a safe space. It is not intended to be a safe space. Proceed accordingly.

Just because you don't like something or find it offensive doesn't mean it is a "problem" that "has to be dealt with".

Most characters in anime are not white.

There is no onus on you to reblog or share anything.

Everyone makes mistakes in fandom and is less than their best self sometimes.

Persistent pseudonyms encourage long term relationships.

Ship wars are stupid.

Someone else enjoying things does not impact on your own enjoyment of other things.

Tagging and warning is a courtesy, not a requirement. Assume any fic might contain untagged content.

Rating is an imprecise art, not a science.

Don't hassle IP creators.

Most people who are in fandom are hoping to make connections based on a shared passion.

Trying to profit from transformative fanworks puts us all at risk.

No one is obligated to share your head canon or fanon.

Being kind rarely fails to pay off.

It is okay to block and remove people who make your experience unpleasant. You don't have to placate them. (Learn from my mistakes).

Britpicking is a good thing.

You don't have to justify why you like a canon/pairing/trope/kink. Sometimes navel gazing is fun, but you don't have an obligation to explain yourself, especially to strangers. I share the overwhelming desire to refute an unfair accusation, but the people accusing you are rarely doing so in good faith, so you're batting a losing wicket.

I'm not your Mum. (Well, okay, a very few of you can call me Mum or Mom, but if you are one of them you already know who you are ❤️)

If you aren't mature enough to take responsibility for your online experiences, you aren't mature enough to be in fandom spaces.

All of this, but also:

Intergenerational friendships are not inherently predatory, and same-generational/close-to-your-own-age friendships are not inherently safe. Trust your gut. People of all ages can have ill intentions. People of all ages can also just want to scream excitedly about what they love. Your best indicator of someone’s intentions isn’t a number--it’s how they interact with other people.

Narumayo is such a wholesome ship with two people who care deeply for each other. Maya and Phoenix don’t need to stay together in the first game, they decided to help each other just because they feel like it. I love how Maya is strong without Phoenix, but she chooses to be with him since she enjoys his company. When two people who just enjoy each other’s company are best friends (And maybe later in life lovers, but that’s not need with Narumayo) they enjoy being silly together.

They’re two halves of a whole. They’re strongest together. They’re happiest together. They trust each other unconditionally. Their bond is so raw, and genuine. They would jump off a cliff for each other just as quickly as they would tease one another. They are genuinely a perfect pairing.
