#They came out while I was in middle/high school #and my band director was the BIGGEST fan of anything I've ever met in IRL #so we did LOTR concerts every year #doing Howard Shore of course #but also suites from the animated movies #and radio plays #and this really epic symphony from the late 80s #and we had these amazing discussions about common motifs and textual references and how they can be represented with chords and progression #and pacing and conversations between instruments #and the difference between inspiration and reference and imitation and respectful homage #it was awesome!

Did I mention I'm now making Julia Child's Chou Farci for dinner because I watched a youtuber with the reading comprehension skills of a 2nd grader botch the thing from start to finish and then blame the recipe?

I'm definitely feeling it, and I did have some trouble with my calf coming down the biggest hills, but I did it!! It took a year to get back to this point, but I did it!!

Getting ready to go hiking with littlest bro. Kinda nervous but hopeful. My leg has been doing so well lately. I had been avoiding uneven terrain because that seemed to cause the most problems, but I've had to do some uneven stuff at work, and it's been bothering me less and less every time. Here's hoping for a fun, pain-free trip!

Thanks guys. I just don't like anaesthesia, or her being away from home, or not knowing how long this will take, or filling out the emergency permissions forms just in case anything goes wrong... But she'll be fine. For their age, the vet says both my cats are in remarkably good health. She'll be stressed, but fine. And I took most of the day off tomorrow to be home and love on her in the aftermath. She takes such good care of me during my migraines. It's just my turn now.
