best things about ss, part two

that sakura affects sasuke from the beginning of the story and she’s like the only person who’s not really aware of that? literally every other character who witnessed ss interaction (and every reader with a brain) knows this. and yet, she doesn’t. but then again, when you think about it - she’s unconscious when sasuke proves he’s ready to sacrifice his life and goals for her safety and refers to her as someone precious to him. she’s too scared and shocked to realize the true effect she has on him when she calms him down in the FOD. she doesn’t see his face when she hugs him after he wakes up in the hospital. she doesn’t know sasuke is the first one to rush after her when she attacks madara. she literally thinks he doesn’t care but she also didn’t see his face just few seconds before. she probably still believes that she’s just an annoying girl to him. well, isn’t he saying that a lot? but even if she doesn’t realize how much she means to him and she probably thinks she’s still nothing more than a burden, sakura never gives up on sasuke. she continues to love him without expecting anything back. like kakashi said, she’s not trying to make him hers. she just wants to save him.

and deep inside he’s been waiting to just give in.

and this is truly beautiful.

Wow I just get really emotional when I think about Genin!SS. We have the top rookie in the class who consistently scored the best in all areas when it came to fighting, is really kinda arrogant about this and isn’t afraid to call people out if he thinks they’re weaker than him.. complimenting and praising the girl who considers herself a hindrance to her team and admits she doesn’t have confidence in her skills, because he sees her upset about it. Sasuke is the actual farthest thing from someone who would praise someones skills (and openly at that) just for the sake of it, and for him to do so because he pays attention to his teammate and sees it’s bothering her? To smile because he just cheered up someone who will eventually be revealed as precious to him? To believe in her abilities only to smile once again as he sees that she finally tapped into her hidden potential that he noticed all along, not knowing that he was the drive behind most of her hard work in the first place? It gets me every single time.
