That's so on brand for Duncan. Like, even after literally being forced to become a Warden as punishment for accidentally killing a guy he robbed, man could not resist stealing from people. From what I remember in The Calling, he stole a fancy dagger from the First Enchanter and then banged a mage who almost caught him.
