In high school one of the common fund raisers was carnation flowers for a dollar during prom season and valentines and a couple other times of year. And you could “order” flowers to be delivered to kids during their homeroom times so it was always a big deal to get flowers and it was super fun

But one of these fundraisers I had a guy friend who commented he never got any because he was always single or his girlfriend always expected flowers but never gave him any

So my senior year valentines I decided I was going to buy all the guys in my homeroom (which he was in) a carnation and said they were from “Anonymous Girl in your homeroom”

So the day came and all the guys started getting flowers and they all realized they were from the same one girl and all got super excited and giddy and protective of their flowers and all day long I saw the guys in my homeroom wear flowers behind their ears or stuffed in their notebooks and they flaunted them around to other guys that didn’t get flowers. One guy tried to see if it would make his girlfriend jealous. A couple of them tried to play detective to figure it out who it was.

Then the next day apparently they all (or at least most of them) got together and bought all the girls in homeroom a carnation as a thank you to whoever it was so every girl in my homeroom got a bouquet of one from every guy (so it was a bouquet of about a dozen) and every single girl was smiling and happy and bouncy as the guys were the day before

And no one ever knew it was me but I was always super proud of that

One simple act can have a ripple effect of kindness that grows as it spreads

remembering that kakashi was fuckign 26 years old when he got assigned team seven is blowing my mind right now. I was naruto’s age when I got sucked into this shit and now I’m kakashi’s and like,,,I get it. my man got assigned the generation’s WORST of the WORST gremlin children and he did the best he fuckin’ could. he nearly dies on every mission because sasuke refuses to go to anger management and naruto is so dumb he probably can’t even read. he’s got like 7 summons that are dogs and he could be spending all his time with them but is he/?? no. he’s got a sharingan making him so Perpetually Exhausted it’s a straight up medical condition and he has to spend all his free time restraining the two finalists of Konoha’s Next Top Orphan from getting people killed instead of like….teaching them. 26 years old and all that unbelievable bullshit. god. and!! then when he finally gets to take a fucking nap they make him hokage I honestly can’t believe he did it. wasn’t even 30 fucking years old. I can’t believe he didn’t leave the damn village himself.

Why wasn’t there an ep pre-the rapture that was Cas focused and dealt with him wanting to rebel and the motel theyre at does shitty breakfast and at the end as they leave dean gets himself a mini cereal and tosses Cas an apple and he automatically catches it and then looks down surprised. Where was that. Where was eden as a motel and the son of god automatically grabbing the apple of knowledge because he trusted the hand that offered it to him. And the apple of knowledge still has a sticker on it.

when you die, you walk into the cold unknown hand in hand with a girl you met once when you were five in a hotel pool and her hand is warm.

love is stored in the child you crossed paths with in a space midway to somewhere else and never saw again

this scene is played as a badass moemnt in the show and is treated as one by the fandom but if you think about it at all its actually so funny because hes just saying the type of alien he is and a completely normal age and place to be from for that type of alien. thats like if you tried to boast by saying "im a californian. i'm from the city of long beach in the county of los angeles. i am 38 years old and i'm going to save your life" but nobody around you knew anyone older than 19 or had ever heard of california so it sounded really impressive

and also you didnt tell them that one time the californian government exiled you from the state of california or that other time where you were put on trial by the state of california or the time you were elected governor of california after being framed for assassinating the previous governor but drove away in your toyota camry before they could make you do the job

Lamb to the Slaughter by Roald Dahl

and this story that I can’t remember the name of and can’t find, though it might be by O. Henry? it’s about a bunch of demons who want to stop Santa Claus from going through with Christmas, and he must travel through the mountains they inhabit to escape their vices? (good christ I can’t remember the name for the life of me)

Ok but the laughing man and a good day for bananafish but j.d. Salinger

The City (195) Ray Bradbury. An intense commentary on colonialism and space exploration. I read it for a sci fi survey class.

Another short story I read in that sci fi class was Vaster than Empires and More Slow (1971) by Ursula K. Le Guin. A commentary on humanity and how human we believe ourselves to be. Also, an interesting commentary on mental health.

In the Woods Beneath the Cherry Blossoms in Full Bloom, written in 1947 by Ango Sakaguchi. It made my skin crawl the first time I read it.

Also going to recommend For A Breath I Tarry by Roger Zelazny, a commentary on whether AI can become human in a future without humans: http://www.kulichki.com/moshkow/ZELQZNY/forbreat.txt

whoever posted “The Laughing Man” and “A Good Day For Bananafish” is Correct

All of Flannery O'Connor’s shorts.

I didn’t read it in a text book, but “I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream” haunted me for life.

This is gonna sound like a hot take, but the shipping wars were never THAT serious in Bleach fandom during the manga's ongoing status.

It wasn't serious simply because the IR far outnumbered IH and dominated the conversations online. IR was HUGE and by that I mean more than half of Bleach readers both in Japan and internationally shipped them, there was never room for big fights, because the conversation was too in favor of IRs. Even Ulquihime had more following at some point, than IH.

It is only now that many IR shippers left after the ending and some new shippers joined IH just because it's canon that people like to twist the narrative.

It was never that serious.

I said what I said.

Stop villainizing IR, move on.

Remember that the entire reason the internet forced you to fill in Captchas for the past 14 years is because they were using your answers to train AI in image and text recognition. Of course the AI can read the text because the entire human race has been unable to use the internet without being forced to train it for over a decade. The fact that they are still trying to keep up the facade so they can keep charging for their captcha services is laughable since they have made the service useless by using it this way.

If you got enough money to live happily and comfortably for the rest of your life, but everyone who saw you immediately knew what fandom you are in and understood what that means, would you take it?

I just want Kakashi's biggest problems to be "Obito got hot" and "everyone desires my father carnally" instead of "everybody I've ever loved is dead," is that too much to ask?

Day 7: KakaObiRin, tickle

Rin being extra ticklish will probably result in Obito getting kicked in the face or crotch, but it’s fun while it last 😆
