I had seen people complain that if Harlan had listened to Martha, he would still be alive; but I think people are forgetting the information he had at hand.

Martha didn't know about the change of the will, but Harlan did. He knew if the ambulance said he was dead by the time they arrived, and the will showed she got the money, she would for sure be accused of purposely killing him rather than negligence. She would go to jail for an accident, even if he clearly didn't mind dying then or for said accident.

So he said fucked, I am not letting anything happen to you or your family.

As calm as he was seeing, he probably thought he only had a few minutes before the symptoms would kick in, and that Martha would not do anything to save herself from this; so he needed to act and act fast. He took into consideration what he knew, and ran with it before anything could go awry.

I can't stop thinking of how he didn't doubt to slit his throat, just so it would look like suicide (Which technically it was) because he would rather slit his own throat than let Martha pay for this.

knives out is always such a rewarding rewatch. my favorite part is always when we get to marta's insistence that they call an ambulance and harlan declaring that they can't do that because he'd already be dead and she'd just lose everything! and on some technical level, according to the information that they "had", he was right.

but despite all of his conniving and clever tricks.. he never realized he wasn't experiencing symptoms of a deadly overdose. when i first watched it i thought that was weird and bad writing that he was acting both physically and mentally FINE if he was like, 3 minutes away from death, but it wasn't bad writing. it was stupendous writing, because harlan was only in danger due to his own need to control a situation.

You know, the thing is, I'm not opposed to the idea of Ned Fulmer's podcast in theory.

A genuine former asshole and scumbag who starts a podcast because he wants to show current assholes and scumbags that they do not have to be the way they are; there is a way out, a way to be a better person. I think there would actually be tremendous value in that. But that's not what this is. This feels like someone who doesn't know how to be/do anything else desperately trying to claw back some semblance of the life he used to know.

I'm going to be more charitable than most and just say; Ned, you aren't there yet. You have not yet walked enough of the path to show others the way. Stay in therapy, keep working on your issues, and maybe come back in a few years.

(also, I'm glad to hear that Ariel did in fact divorce him. There are some things that a marriage cannot and should not survive, and what Ned did was certainly one of them)

Ned Fulmer trying to come back to the internet is so funny. Like, the only reason people tolerated you was because of the Try Guys. Not only are you gross, but you are the most forgettable white man in existence. Get off my feed.

Ariel was the best thing about him. He brought this upon himself. He did this to himself.

Ariel was the best thing about him and he chose to leech on to her image and profit off of it.

ned fulmer making a podcast about 'hitting rock bottom' after he cheated on his (ex)wife and got caught 3 years ago and then having his ex wife on said podcast just so he can cast the blame onto society and completely avoid any sense of accountability is cognitive dissonance to the highest degree. I need him to get Zach, Eugene and Keith on the podcast next so we can watch Eugene break him psychologically, Zach break him physically, and Keith gnaw on his bones for dessert. What an absolute fucking manipulative prick of a man

Ok hold on because having Keith, Zach and Eugene would be crazy but so is having Ariel so andnajd
