imagine one night dean has a dream that he gets married and he tells cas about it the next morning. the wedding was nothing big - just a small ceremony in the backyard of his childhood house in lawrence. there were beers and a barbecue after. everyone was there: jack and mom, jody and donna and the girls, charlie, bobby. hell, even rowena was there. sammy was best man. even some people they’d lost along the way where there: kevin (mrs. tran came, too), benny, ellen and jo and ash, bobby and charlie from their world, missouri moseley. dad. pastor jim officiated.

“It was the perfect day,” dean says a little wistfully, even though he could never actually have it.

“Oh. That sounds…. nice,” cas says in return, but he seems sad and dean doesn’t know why.

as the day wears on, cas’ becomes even more distant and depressed. whenever dean asked him what’s wrong, cas says “nothing” or “i’m fine,” until the evening rolls around and dean can’t take it anymore.

“What’s the matter with you?” he demands.

and cas sighs in that heavy way he does, and says haltingly, “You dreamed about your wedding. You called it perfect.”

“Yeah?” dean prompts.

“I wasn’t there.”

“Of course you were,” dean says. “Who do you think I married?”

*phone ringing*

Sam: “Daddy”?, Jack aren’t you too old to be calling Cas daddy?

Cas: That’s actually my phone

*Cas answering*: Hello, Dean

Sam: Jack, let’s go to bible studies. We’re all Children of Jesus

Jack: I don’t understand. Why woul Cas call…?

Sam: KOMBAYA MY LORD
