Some nights would find George walking along the side of the Forbidden Forest, the sun long set and the shining moon out to play. As much as he loved hanging out with his twin brother, he enjoyed the peaceful nights that he could occasionally seize, and he enjoyed the feeling of the night breeze brushing his cheeks. But it wasn’t a normal midnight walk for him, as he soon learned; in hindsight it was obvious before it even came to be.

The absence of the sounds he would normally hear, like the nocturnal birds chirping, and the rabbits rustling in the bushes. No, the atmosphere was silent, but it didn’t quite touch the concept of eeriness. There was something human- or at least human-like- present, and for some reason he could sense it.

note: the moonshine ball is a gala-type annual ball that happens for the extreme wealthy/prominent wizards. as the second wizarding war rages on, many from each side send “spies” into the ball in hopes to find secrets about the opposing sides. this is also set just in the beginning of deathly hallows (dumbledore is already dead). also!!! the order is a bit dark in this fic, more aggressive and willing to use dark magic.

summary: the war is in full rage, and you find yourself thrown right into the deep end; the moonshine ball.

It's 2021 and we're still really writing Y/N having blonde hair, blue eyes and pink nipples.

I'm one of the blue eyed blondes (well... Blue/grey and wheat colored hair), but I really think there should be more diversity in fanfics. And I love reading fics with poc's and oc's 😄

(And speaking of y/n... Isn't the premise that they should be without identifiers so everyone can insert themselves? 😅)

I write my reader inserts (or at least I hope I do?) without any physical description so that everyone can relate. Sometimes I do write plus size if I get a request for it.

I try not to write blush in my writing, but I know it do slips into my stories sometimes. I do my best to try writing other words to describe it.

So my Latina ass really just go yikes when I see an x reader insert that describes de reader as faired skin, light haired or blue eyed. Like uhhhhh, I'm sorry but in what universe do i look like that? In any case that would be an of, with very specific descriptions and that is perfectly ok, but its kinda off putting when a fic is said to be x reader, meaning a self insert but then the writer uses very specific physical descriptions not everyone has, and it defeats the purpose of being a self insert.

I'm aware sometimes if a writer does look a certain way it may be easier to write in a way they understand, like I for example tend to say that the y/n character is shorter than the guy in question, that for me is very true, because I'm 4'11, but I'm well aware a lot of girls are very tall. So I try my hardest not to say this unless the guy in question is over 6 feet tall. But even then I try my absolute best to avoid using specific descriptions and I avoid taking extremely specific requests so that everyone can feel as included as possible, which is kinda the point of an x reader.

So yeah let's normalize not using extremely specific descriptions in self inserts so that poc, Latin, Asian and any reader that isnt white can feel as included as possible.
