Reminder that next month is Disability Pride Month. Don't overshadow it with your Gay Wrath Month please. Disabled people are always ignored and told to stay quiet, and I'm so sick of it.
Ooooh I saw you asking for requests? Maybe you can draw something cute like... Toothless licking Hiccup's hand after an injury? :>>
or... Snotlout ruffling Hiccup's hair and Hiccup for once not being annoyed with him, like the chaotic cousins they are
hnnhg I need to draw rtte stuff more
Snotlout is the fashion diva of the dragon riders.
he would definitely buy expensive clothing and spend way too much time on his hair
hiccup is really son of the chief, heir to the entire tribe of berk, rides a NIGHT FURY etc etc, after the first movie he should be the coolest most popular guy on berk and he wakes up every day and CHOOSES to hang out with the gang instead of anyone else god help him he loves them so much
hello hello, what about stoick and toothless being silly friends together (if not that's okay!). I love your art very much I wish you a nice day
the reigning champions of keeping hiccup alive
The entire httyd/sod fandom on the eve of June 29th, 2023;

Little guy with a big flag
Just another little Toothless pride doodle
I LITERALLY LOVE THIS PICTURE SO MUCH YOU DON'T EVEN UNDERSTAND LIKE,, I'M CRYING
THEY'RE BEST FRIENDS THEY'RE BEST FRIENDS AND THEY HAVE BEEN SINCE THEY WERE KIDS AND THEY'RE NOT KIDS ANYMORE AND THEY'VE KNOWN EACH OTHER THEIR WHOLE LIVES AND THE LIVE TOGETHER AND THEY SPEND NIGHTS AROUND CAMPFIRES TELLING STORIES AND THEY MAKE EACH OTHER DINNER AND EAT IT AROUND A TABLE TOGETHER AND THEY KNOW EACH OTHER SO WELL AND I'M LITERALLY CRYING
VIGGO IS LITERALLY SOBBING IN AGONY IN THAT VOLCANO SCREAMING IN PAIN AND YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT FEEL GOOD OT6 MOMENTS???
He’ll be fine
okay but tell me why dreamworks thought it would be a good idea to use the exact plot of rtte s1e13 as the plot for thw but do it wrong
Wait... What...
okay okay okay
so s1e13,, total nightmare is about snotlout and hookfang, and basically hookfang is acting weird and he starts leaving at night and stuff and it turns out that he's found a female monstrous nightmare (girl hookfang) he starts pushing snotlout away and they think that he's leaving snotlout for girl hookfang and returning to the wild (they even have hiccup talking to toothless saying 'you wouldn't do that to me, would you bud?'
and in thw, toothless, hiccup's best friend of 6 years ACTUALLY DOES THE EXACT SAME THING, he starts getting closer w the lightfury, leaves hiccup once he has the ability to do so (and tries to stay away??? presumably for good?????) and he gets irritated when he finds hiccup in the hidden world and has to drag him out
the actual difference between the two,, is that hookfang wasn't leaving snotlout for a girl dragon he was protecting baby dragons
hookfang didn't meet a female monstrous nightmare and forsake snotlout, he was trying to protect a mother and her babies from a bully, but we're supposed to believe that toothless was genuinely ready to leave hiccup for a female fury dragon AFTER she tried to kill hiccup several times
Nivvie!! He's so awkward and I love this kid so much. Haven't drawn him in a bit so doing this little portrait of him was such a treat <333
@rosiethedragongeek for the tags!

I think it's really interesting that the whole first movie Stoick is defining what Hiccup 'isn't', and the movie kinda revolves around Hiccup figuring out what he 'is'
Like Stoick is always saying 'you're many things Hiccup, a dragon killer is not one of them', 'i knew who I was, what I had to become, Hiccup is not that boy', 'you're not my son', etc etc, he defines Hiccup by what he isn't until Hiccup shows him what he is
Truly it all cultivates into two moments of which only one is really in your face and the other is a quick moment in the movie climax that shows exactly what Hiccup is to Stoik and how he is what the village needs.
First, you have Gobber state it. "Most stubborn Viking you ever seen," as we see the 6 flying dragons and Stoik nods his agreement.
That is his son, stubborn, and we have seen it through out the movie. Hiccup is the one to keep trying and doing something even if it doesn't work the first time. Hiccup was different and wasn't like the rest of them. He thought and created. He wasn't strong. And he caused problems whenever Stoik wasn't watching his every move.
But if there's anything that Hiccup was, it was stubborn. His invention goes wrong? He tries to fix it, and work out what went wrong ("minor calibration issue!"). He tries multiple times to build trust with Toothless to result in him on dragon back. And keeps failing before flying. He has near death experiences and he still gets back on that dragon.
Stoik meanwhile focuses on what he sees and knows, which has been for a long time, the problems because Stoik is the chief he needs to solve problems for his village, Hiccup was at the centre for a lot of those problems. So it's something everyone focuses on, what he can't do right. Gobber does it, Astrid and Snoutlout both do it as do the other teens, and Stoik does it. To the point Hiccup wants to be like all of them because what he is, and keeps trying to be, is something he is not. And he is told so many times, to stop being him. Yes, paraphrasing the conversation with Gobber at the start there.
The other one that happens, it happens three times slightly differently that you feel is a long time moment between a few characters? That holds such a big moment in the final time?
"you need to stop all of...this." "you just gestured to all of me,"
It kept happening because what he was, was not what the village wanted. Hiccup didn't fit in, he was just a mess up, to have everyone be glad when he finally did fit and had a way with the dragons that they only saw was useful to their dragon fighting. The thing is? That was still Hiccup, as Hiccup. Being a little smart, applying his knowledge and being stubborn about not hurting the dragons because what was known was wrong. Which is when everyone turned away from him again, when revealed he actually hadn't changed, he was still...Hiccup.
The final time, Stoik and Hiccup go through the routine "...this," and it's positive, and he sees what Hiccup is, and what is wanted, needed, and how being different was the best thing Hiccup could be. It's confirmed. It's visible, that Hiccup could be just Hiccup. He saw it before and knew it before but it's confirmed for Hiccup, from the man he wanted to impress most in his life. And Stoik gives it. That Hiccup is just as much a Viking because the important part is not the fighting, or strength, but something else that Hiccup has just as the rest of them do, but he also brings something new that they needed (personally due to various drops of stubborn being used to describe Vikings and them rather facing death than taking the easy out because they can to me says stubborn is the shared trait, while Hiccup being Hiccup was the needed thing).
We see that earlier realisation with Astrid. She said it, what are you going to do? What is Hiccup, the Viking unlike any other Viking, going to do to solve this mess he made because that's what Hiccup does, he solves things he gets wrong because he is stubborn and thinks outside the box. He will think up something crazy to solve the problem, because who else's solution to not being able to throw a weapon is to build a catapult equivalent?
That's what they needed more of. Stubborn problem solving. And that's such a huge part of what we see Hiccup being. To finally be accepted for who he is as he tried for the movie and before as implied to find it, is so good to see. To no longer be defined by what he is not, or his bad qualities, to being defined as something good, something needed and something to be proud of is such a huge change to him and it's put forth in so many small little ways that allow Hiccup to go from head down to head held high, and it's such a good story journey that he goes through.
I love this so much
It continues in the other movies too, when Stoick dies, Hiccup talks about how he was afraid that he couldn't be Stoick. He couldn't be as brave, as selfless as Stoick. (That he couldn't be the chief his father was), and it all comes together after Hiccup saves the village and proves that he is just as brave and selfless when Gobber says 'the chief has come home'
And also in the third movie when we see Hiccup struggling with his identity without Toothless, with how he feels like nothing when you take Toothless away, and Astrid tells him that he is the 'bravest, most stubborn knucklehead' she knows, defining him by what makes him him rather than what he doesn't have. (An aside, it's been forever since I watched this one for.. reasons, but I'm pretty sure that Grimmel spends the entire movie referring to Hiccup as 'a boy' or 'Stoick's boy', which isn't who Hiccup is)
Even in smaller moments in the shows when people try to define Hiccup, like when Alvin refers to him as the 'Dragon Conqueror', and Hiccup turns around and tells him that no, he's not the dragon conqueror, he's the 'Dragon Trainor' (a difference that is very important to his character)
In fact, I think that one of the only people who hasn't underestimated Hiccup or disrespected him on first meeting him, is Viggo. (even the other members of the gang all treated him like shit in the first movie)
Viggo has respected Hiccup since the beginning, and instead of calling him a 'boy' or whatever he always uses very respectful language regarding Hiccup (which is, in part, just how he talks, but I think it says a lot about how he views Hiccup)
He is the only one of Hiccup's enemies that goes out of his way to tell Hiccup how much he respects him, he even tells it to Krogan. I think it's just very interesting that Viggo respects Hiccup so much, seeing as he isn't aware of his reputation going into meeting him, and the first few of their meetings went terribly for Hiccup. Even other villains like Drago and Grimmel have underestimated and disrespected Hiccup after he's built up more of a reputation. Even Trader Johann who knows exactly who he is and what he can do first hand, who has seen him win fight after fight refers to him as 'boy' once he drops his act.
“I’m out there kicking names and taking butts!”
Sounds kinda fruity Snotlout
Here's Dagur in a crop top bc I'm sure he would love wearing those on hot summer days (and during club nights with Hiccup hehe)
