I am realllly loving this trend in Korean dramas where the men are just goddam principled, nice, respectful and supportive romantic leads. I was so over that shitty tsundere assholes trend. They usually had zero redeeming qualities and just rained on the heroine’s parade.How typical dramas used to start (some still do) the guy is a cold, overconfident mother fucker and the girl is a sweet, poor girl who introduces him to love and makes him a nicer person. Like fuck that shit. That’s not a woman’s job in a romantic relationship. So I am very happy to see a departure from that with leads like Jung Joon-hyung (Weightlifting Fairy) and Yoo Ji Shin (Descendant of Sun). Don’t be an asshole. Be supportive, caring and get yourself a partner who isn’t afraid to challenge you and grow with you.

one last thing- i think the scene where cha young visits the vineyard in the finale is very important because it once again shows us that vincenzo isn’t the only one with a dark side. cha young may not be comfortable with seeing or executing gruesome murders, but she ultimately believes that the ends justify the means, and that is something she learned from vincenzo. we can imply from the vineyard scene that myung hee and han seok’s remains were used as the fertilizer to cultivate the fruit, as cha young smiles at the sign displaying vincenzo’s name and taps her foot on the soil before stating that she’ll do her best to make good wine out of those cheap grapes. this line (and the 1+1) refers to the threat vincenzo made back in episode 2 where he said that if his victim were back in italy then he “would have become a fertilizer for the vineyards. [he] would have become some cheap wine being sold on a buy-one-get-one-free deal”. in vinenzo’s last lines of the finale, he also mentions as he is walking away from the art gallery that he “used three luciano family members as manure for the vineyard” just two days ago. 

though the two are currently separated by distance, there is no doubt that there will soon come a day when they will no longer have to part ways and can settle down together. as cha young first said in episode 18 (and vincenzo restated in his postcard), the two are one soul living in two bodies and are more alike than they are different. they balance each other perfectly and it’s why both have decided that they are the villains who do deserve to love and be loved. cha young continues to weave subtle but powerful traces of italy into korea for vincenzo, and vincenzo very transparently works on creating symbolic ties to korea on his island in malta. they do this with only the other in mind so that when the blessed day finally comes, they can finally be together and be a part of both worlds.
