The name that brought you Star Trek.

An old friend returns to the Star Trek universe. The 1701-D will play host to a series of negotiations to be directed by Ambassador Sarek. However, when an illness plaguing the ambassador puts the talks in jeopardy, Captain Picard plays host in a more meaningful and potentially dangerous way. More than old home week, it is an examination of aging and mortality when we put Sarek into the Mission Log.

Episode 142: Peak Performance

It is war-games a go-go when the Enterprise faces off against the Hathaway, a derelict ship commanded for the games by William T. Riker. Shooting, bobbing, weaving. It is all in good fun, until the Ferengi come in firing real weapons and demanding the Enterprise surrender the Hathaway. It may be time to abandon the Hathaway. Or maybe blow it up. Options are slim as we put Peak Performance in the Mission Log.

Episode 141: The Emissary

This week, a couple of blasts from the past. First, an old flame of Worf’s shows up. Then, a ship full of Klingons – frozen for 75 years and looking for a fight. She’s already been stuffed in a torpedo, so it should not hurt too much when we put The Emissary in the Mission Log.

It is the return of Lwaxana Troi. Ostensibly on an ambassadorial mission, she is in fact a woman on the prowl. Lwaxana is going through “The Phase,” a time in the life of a Betazed woman that ratchets her sex drive to 11. She must have a husband. While her sights are initially set on Captain Picard, when he proves elusive, no man is off limits. Who will be the lucky guy? Find out when we put Manhunt in the Mission Log.

The latest supplemental episode of The Mission Log Podcast includes an in depth discussion with writer David Gerrold including the circumstances leading up to his departure. Also we speak with Larry Nemecek about our Discovered Documents (like the one pictured) and finally we take a moment to remember Grace Lee Whitney (Yeoman Janice Rand).
