wHY DO PEOPLE FUCKKKKKKKKING USE LEONARD COHEN’S HALLELUJAH FOR RELIGIOUS PURPOSES!! IT IS NOT A RELIGIOUS SONG; IT JUST USES A RELIGIOUS WORD TO DEMONSTRATE THE FACT THAT THERE ARE MANY TYPES OF “HALLELUJAH”, MANY KINDS OF “HALLELUJAH” EXIST. 

Yes. This song is steeped in religious imagery. But, thought about theology does not equal religiosity. This song, is so, so much deeper than any religion. 

This is a song that stays with many of us, and for both religious people and atheistic people, the reason for this remains the same: it is a song about the depth of pain in human life, and the hope that we all wish for.
