It can mean a lot to have someone listen and wish you well. This red panda is here to offer you hot tea and a friendly ear. 🍵❤️️
This is such a small simple thing, but it makes me feel so much better^_^

I honestly have no words for people with this outlook. Middle aged men who attack Greta for the way she looks and for being young?? Clearly they have no substance to go on. They know she's right and they're SCARED of her, so they do what they do best with their hollow heads: attack her appearance! She is doing this because NO ADULTS care enough to speak up. I stand with her and I think she's incredible.
I had to look this up on Twitter because it seemed to improbable to be true. She seems happy? Looking forward to a bright future? Did he just hear the name and that people were talking about her but nothing of what she said or even her tone of voice? I realise that getting angry about Trump is a fruitless endeavour, but good grief he is tone deaf a lot of the time.

The moment of truth…
I have no idea why I haven’t reblogged this before to have easy access to it, but better late than never I guess🤷♀️
no offence but there is literally nothing morally wrong with cheating on tests/at school… it’s up there with piracy on the list of Crimes Everyone Is Convinced Are Wrong And Harmful But If You Actually Think About Them For 12 Seconds It’s Fine And You Definitely Should Commit Them At Some Point
Yeah, I don’t know if OP meant this to be sarcastic or not. But as a teacher, I agree with this. You should use any resources you have, that includes cheating as a resource.
There will never be a moment in your life EXCEPT for school when you are told to tell everything you know about a topic without using resources.
Any field of work or career path you go into will let you use resources when talking about a subject. Business people will research everything and then put that research into a presentation and then show that presentation to make a sale. Retail workers will be able to ask others or look up information to a question that a shopper asks. Teachers HAVE THE ANSWER KEYS to ensure they can answer students’ questions and they got those answer keys from someone else, or a book, or a website filled with resources that teachers can use.
So as a teacher, I don’t take offense if a student didn’t want to memorize where the Rio Grande is because they can use a map to know that instead and that one particular thing isn’t going to affect their life in a state far away.
I want students in school instead to focus on learning on how to be a responsible citizen. I want them to learn how to be a respectful friend. I want them to learn how to be safe to themselves and others. They can’t cheat on those lessons because those will impact their life and can help them become better people.
I also want students to move away from tests so then they don’t feel like they need to cheat. I want them to do projects instead. I want them to use their notebooks which are filled with information I provided them to pick a reason to defend why the Rio Grande is important to the animals that live around it. Or I want students to create a poster that explains why rivers should be kept clean. I want students to critically think about things. I want them to stop having to memorize and instead LEARN.
We have technology in our pockets that are far more advanced than what the original creators of school ever thought possible. If you really need to know the location of the Rio Grande, then Google it. You’ll find the answer in a moment. If you want to know which natural resources the Rio Grande provides, you can Google that too. But you’ll probably have to read more than one sentence. You might even have to look it up on a few different websites. You know, you’ll have to research it and collect the information you seek. By using your resources and being a critical thinker.
I know this is not the case in all countries, but in Sweden, where I’m a teacher, only knowing facts can get you a passing grade but not much more. To get the higher grades, you need to be able to use your knowledge and apply it to new situations, argue from several points of view, draw conclusions on your own, gather information from different sources and critically evaluate if the information in the sources can be trusted or not.
I like this a lot, because only knowing facts will not get you very far if you can’t use the knowledge for anything except answering very specific questions. This doesn’t mean that you can get away with not studying; reasoning and drawing conclusions is not something you can do without knowing the basic facts, but it means that as a teacher I get to focus more on skills that the students will have use for later in life rather than facts which many will forget as soon as the project/test is done.
It’s a really stupid ban. It really doesn’t hurt the bots but it does hurt a sizeable part of the tumblr community.
I also feel that by banning nsfw art but not nsfw fiction they are inconsistent and confusing. Do they mind nsfw or not?
I’m not saying they should ban nsfw fanfics too, I’m just pointing out that the ban makes no sense.
Since its founding in 2007, Tumblr has always been a place for wide open, creative self-expression at the heart of community and culture. To borrow from our founder David Karp, we’re proud to have inspired a generation of artists, writers, creators, curators, and crusaders to redefine our culture and to help empower individuality.
Over the past several months, and inspired by our storied past, we’ve given serious thought to who we want to be to our community moving forward and have been hard at work laying the foundation for a better Tumblr. We’ve realized that in order to continue to fulfill our promise and place in culture, especially as it evolves, we must change. Some of that change began with fostering more constructive dialogue among our community members. Today, we’re taking another step by no longer allowing adult content, including explicit sexual content and nudity (with some exceptions).
Let’s first be unequivocal about something that should not be confused with today’s policy change: posting anything that is harmful to minors, including child pornography, is abhorrent and has no place in our community. We’ve always had and always will have a zero tolerance policy for this type of content. To this end, we continuously invest in the enforcement of this policy, including industry-standard machine monitoring, a growing team of human moderators, and user tools that make it easy to report abuse. We also closely partner with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and the Internet Watch Foundation, two invaluable organizations at the forefront of protecting our children from abuse, and through these partnerships we report violations of this policy to law enforcement authorities. We can never prevent all bad actors from attempting to abuse our platform, but we make it our highest priority to keep the community as safe as possible.
Posts that contain adult content will no longer be allowed on Tumblr, and we’ve updated our Community Guidelines to reflect this policy change. We recognize Tumblr is also a place to speak freely about topics like art, sex positivity, your relationships, your sexuality, and your personal journey. We want to make sure that we continue to foster this type of diversity of expression in the community, so our new policy strives to strike a balance.
It is our continued, humble aspiration that Tumblr be a safe place for creative expression, self-discovery, and a deep sense of community. As Tumblr continues to grow and evolve, and our understanding of our impact on our world becomes clearer, we have a responsibility to consider that impact across different age groups, demographics, cultures, and mindsets. We spent considerable time weighing the pros and cons of expression in the community that includes adult content. In doing so, it became clear that without this content we have the opportunity to create a place where more people feel comfortable expressing themselves.
Bottom line: There are no shortage of sites on the internet that feature adult content. We will leave it to them and focus our efforts on creating the most welcoming environment possible for our community.
Starting December 17, 2018, we will begin enforcing this new policy. Community members with content that is no longer permitted on Tumblr will get a heads up from us in advance and steps they can take to appeal or preserve their content outside the community if they so choose. All changes won’t happen overnight as something of this complexity takes time.
Another thing, filtering this type of content versus say, a political protest with nudity or the statue of David, is not simple at scale. We’re relying on automated tools to identify adult content and humans to help train and keep our systems in check. We know there will be mistakes, but we’ve done our best to create and enforce a policy that acknowledges the breadth of expression we see in the community.
Most importantly, we’re going to be as transparent as possible with you about the decisions we’re making and resources available to you, including more detailed information, product enhancements, and more content moderators to interface directly with the community and content.
Like you, we love Tumblr and what it’s come to mean for millions of people around the world. Our actions are out of love and hope for our community. We won’t always get this right, especially in the beginning, but we are determined to make your experience a positive one.

I know I’m just adding to the noise, but this is not a good way to fix the bot problem. There’s lots of explicitly sexual art on this site that is part of how fandoms express themselves and which isn’t hurting anyone. But also, where do you draw the line? Is art of character A grabbing character Bs ass ok? A and B kissing? Making out? If these things aren’t allowed, there will be a mass migration because those types of illustrations are a big part of Tumblr. Even if those types of illustrations are ok, chanses are that many will get reported.

This is one of the reasons FMA is so good, it has dark twists that you won’t see coming.

Yup
I did a very quick, sketchy comic because I was extremely inspired by this post. (Credit to @pinkdiamondprince for the original post.)
The entire analogy was just fantastic and so, so accurate, and I wanted to make a comic for it, even if it’s very sketchy because my attention span is nil.
This^^

BETTER EVRYTIME
So 14 year old Phil made a game
He had no idea that 16 years later he’d be playing that game with a person he hadn’t even met yet
And that person would get all the references and know all the songs
And be so immensely proud and complimentary about this game
It’s just so amazing to me how life can change, how you could be doing things now and have no idea how they will turn out and who you’ll be sharing things with
I just, yeah.
i will never not reblog this
Phil Lester is a kind, generous, humble man with a beautiful soul.
“I’m useless in most ways” yet is so kind and thoughtful and will do anything for anybody. He literally saved people from themselves I love Phil Lester
I ALWAYS reblog this. He makes me so happy. I don’t know where I would be without him honestly
Coconuts have only been in the Caribbean for 500 years. They just….floated on over from Asia and took root. That’s…hilarious.
Wait really? I always thought they were if not native at least brought over on purpose
Right??? I’m watching this nature doc and when the narrator said that I nearly spit my drink giggling. They’re remarkably buoyant and just bob their way to a new shore. So carefree. Truly a fruit destined to be in the Caribbean.
are you suggesting coconuts migrate
A swallow could have carried it
The question is, was it an African swallow or a European swallow?
Reblogging for the Monty Python refence😂😂
And the mystery continues….
I'm just like were the battery percentages on purpose? Because they're pretty accurate.
