been thinking about the word queer lately and it just means so much to me and it's so hard to put into words

like yes "not gay as in happy but queer as in fuck you" but also it feels like so much more

queer feels like a snuggly soft blanket you can burrow into

queer feels like coming in from the cold to find a warm mug of hot chocolate made just for you

queer feels like a tight hug from someone you care about

queer feels like a friend you haven't seen in ages but when you get together it's like you were never apart

queer feels like the first crisp autumn day where you can put on a fuzzy sweater and boots or the first spring day when you can take off your jacket and let the sun warm your skin

queer feels like an afternoon nap with a cat snuggled in your lap or on your chest or at your side purring so softly

queer feels warm and happy and soft and inviting and welcoming

queer feels like "I love you" and "you belong here"

uh so i never do this but maui is quite literally on fire and there isn't nearly enough care or consideration for. you know. Native Hawaiians who live here being displaced and the land (and cultural relevance) that's being eaten up by the fire. so if ya'll wanna help, here's some links:
