Rin Rambles

@rinwolfy / rinwolfy.tumblr.com

Rants, rambles, and all sorts of other fun stuff I like to spew :) I have a fuckton of fandoms, so you'll see all of them on here between my reblogging of the country and politics going to b.s. here in good ol' U.S. of A. I like labels, because they help me explain who I am: I'm pansexual polyamorous and identify as trans masculine non-binary and I'm a Pagan and practicing witch. Philosophy is one of my obsessions, and I will also muse about mine on here when I feel inspired to do so. My name is Aneirin but my friends call me Rin; but feel free to also refer to me as Conor. On occasion, I respond to other random names, but none of them come to my mind right at the moment. Also also, I am part of a diagnosed DID system. I will talk occasionally about my insiders and/or they'll pop up here every so often (although they all do have their own blogs).

Hello, all! I know I’ve been kind of away for a bit. I was in A Midsummer Night’s Dream (I was Mustardseed!) at The Everett (yes, the same theatre they did it for Dead Poets Society; yes, we got to use the historical backdrop and yes, we have a cast photo with the Henley Hall sign in front of us, it was very cool to be in it for The Everett’s Centennial). So, I’ve been busy doing nothing but theatre and work lately. However, I am once again asking for your help to both signal boost and spread the word to help me get my student visa to get myself over to Scotland! In case you’re unaware, I was laid off from my full time government job in 2020 due to COVID budget cuts and have never really financially recovered. And, unfortunately, even though I love my job dearly, I do not make enough to save up fast enough to get my student visa as I have to pay four years of NHS fees up front, which is over $3,000 total. I’ve already gotten up to $580, which is wonderful and brilliant, but I want to keep spreading the word. Please reblog, repost the image of my lil flyer if you want; I have these posted on FB, IG, and Twitter already. Any help would be appreciated! Y’all are lovely and brilliant and I miss interacting with you here. I promise I will be more active soon 💝

And here is the easy to click link for the GoFundMe below:

I don’t dress like a “boy” or a “girl”, I dress like you should not ask me to lift any heavy items

why would you hide this in the tags

oh wow, the “water” is an illusion created by spinning glass rods.

wooooooooooah

I will reblog this automaton every single time I see it because I adore it and you cannot stop me.

Something i’m pondering at the moment is the idea of mechanism with motion, first set in motion 250-ish years ago, that can still move.

Why are people working allowed to take random ass smoke breaks??? Imagine taking a break during work time to drink wine or some shit. I'm not even allowed to drink water behind the cash register, but you're allowed to leave and smoke? Bitch ass

Wow I just realized work often accommodates people who smoke but not people with disabilities or medical conditions

I really appreciate that the Good Omens miniseries makes a specific point of casting Aziraphale and Crowley as a couple of frumpy middle-aged nerds who dress like they got lost on the way to a LARP. Like, way to commit to the tone.

I mean, that’s basically what I gathered from the book…right? 😂 Gotta blend in with the mortals 😂

The fun part for me is how well the show’s costume design conveys the fact that they think they’re pulling it off, while at the same time establishing that no, they really aren’t. Crowley looks like he mugged an extra from a direct-to-video cyberpunk movie, and Aziraphale is dressed like a very tall hobbit – they’re absolutely the opposite of inconspicuous, yet you could totally believe they think it’s working because yeah, those getups would successfully deflect attention from any personal eccentricities, wouldn’t they?

Given the Good Omens TV show’s conceit of depicting Heaven and Hell as corporatised bureaucracies, it’s really entertaining that Crowley, who to all textual evidence accomplishes more for Satan’s cause before nine AM than most of his ostensible superiors manage all millennium – in spite of not really caring about the job, no less – has a demonstrated skill set that basically boils down to Evil Project Management.

I mean, seriously. Most of his greatest achievements in service to the infernal realm – the ones he’s legitimately repsonsible for, and didn’t just take credit for after the fact – involve fucking around with regional infrastructure development. The argument that finally converts Aziraphale from half-hearted rival to reluctant co-conspirator is based on efficient resource allocation.

I broke Amazon Prime

OMG guys. I must have been going back and forth on the Good Omens episodes too much (a shock, I know) that Amazon Prime couldn’t take it anymore and had a glitch. Basically, the subtitles of episode 1 were slapped onto the visuals of episode 6. I was about to refresh until I realized that watching the episode this way brought some absolute gems:

(Snake sushi, I guess)

(asdhasjkldhkajsdhksjadh)

(I laughed so hard I nearly woke my mom on the second floor)

(Mood)

(…okay…?)

(That is what’s happening, yes)

(Yay demon bathing in holy water)

(accidental spoiler)

After I exited onto the main page and refreshed the problem went away. I just thought it was hilarious to the point I just watched the entire episode this way…… 😂

OH MY GOD THIS HAPPENED TO ME TOO!!!

Except I was watching episode 3 and it gave me subtitles from episode 6

I guess goats have brakes now

RIP jesus

This was the one that I scared the cat laughing at

That’s just Rome, honestly

rip king arthur

it’s okay shakespeare, computers are hard

my favorite ^

Unfortunately that’s as far as I got in the episode since my  mom wanted amazon prime for something else, but it was honestly pretty great
