for full transparency, i’m also going to be taking a break from posting art on social media this year for personal reasons!! i wrote a little more about it on twitter, but i’ll share it here as well:

before i open my store, i want to let you guys know that i'm going to take a long break from posting art on social media (maybe until the end of the year) you guys have given me so much support and encouragement, and i'll always be so grateful for it - you've motivated me to grow and learn so much! i really did have so much fun sharing my work with you all and crying over dkbkdk haha!!
i feel nervous about leaving, because i've used external validation as a motivator for making art since i was 13 or 14! but i also think that's why i need to take a break and rediscover why i like drawing, and what kind of art i would make if no one cared/i wasn't conscious of how it would be received on social media.

#bakudeku#LAST NIGHT i had a dream that bkdk went on a first date and it was so cute#it made me wanna write a fic BUT IDK HOW JFHDJHF#SO I WILL JUST TALK ABOUT IT HERE#(also i rlly wanted to draw deku in fluffy warm clothes)#ANYWAY the concept of deku asking bkg on a date and them both just indulging in a moment of normalcy that's just.. simple and tender..#MAKES ME RLLY EMOTIONAL#bc they never really get the chance to just be normal teenagers#and the world they live in has become so dangerous and so chaotic#SO BOTH OF THEM GO ON THIS DATE and they have a nice time#but it's bittersweet too because they know they might not get another moment like this#bc they never know what tomorrow will bring#SO IT'S A HAPPY MOMENT but one that is fleeting#like snow :)#ANYWAY if u read all of that thank u JFHJFHF#rikkivoid#mystuff

hello! thank you so much :D the sketchy pieces with a more textured brush are usually done in procreate (tho a few have been done in clip studio too!) bigger paintings and illustrations are usually done in photoshop. i don't really have a dedicated brush for procreate, but in photoshop i mainly use 'kyle's ultimate pencil hard' which is a default brush!

but for those big paintings (especially the ones with urban environments) i use a lot of 3d and model buildings which i texture with photos, and then i render out a scene in blender - that helps a lot in achieving a higher level of fidelity and texture! i have a twitter thread that i didn't end up finishing, but i talk more about using 3d there! i do my linework over the models using that pencil brush, usually at a finer size, and then i use just a default hard round brush with opacity to paint over everything and add in texture.

i also have another post where i talk a little bit about textures and brushes in my earlier work - it's a bit outdated now since i don't use that brush anymore but still might be useful to you! hopefully this helps! if there's a specific piece or process u wanna kno more about just lmk and i'll try to provide more info :D best of luck!
