I think I’d like Jily if it was written like Dramione. Because let’s face it, James is basically a Gryffindor Draco, a handsome and rich pureblood who is definitely a bully, the type of person who thinks “I will if you go out with me” is the right response to his crush asking him to stop hurting her friend. They have problems, but those problems are what make it interesting, and a lot of people ignore that to make it super fluffy and cute.

I hate the headcanon that Hermione wouldn’t be able to stand Draco’s presence after the war. Leaving aside the fact that the torture she suffered was at the hands of Bellatrix, not Draco, my Hermione is stronger than that. I strongly believe in Dramione. Not because it’s a “bad boy falls for smart girl” story. Because it breaks stereotypes of houses and blood type, and shows that’s there’s a way for Draco to be redeemed when shown love by someone who can give it. Draco matches Hermione intellectually, and in some cases emotionally. Through a relationship between them, Draco could grow to see that blood types don’t matter. Separation doesn’t matter. That his family has been wrong and has been prejudice for too long.

Why do people assume that people who ship Dramione also hate Ron? I love Ron! I think he’s a great character and an outstanding friend to Harry. Just because I’ve never really been a fan of his romantic relationship with Hermione, doesn’t mean that I hate him as a character.

I went through way too much stress and pressure during the last year of highschool. Harry Potter fanfic (mainly Dramione) got me through it. I can’t thank the fandom enough for that!

What I hate about anti Dramione confessions is the utter lack of overall perspective. Talking about how Draco treated Hermione when they were kids, how he was mean or “racist.” This is a fail at realizing that people can actually CHANGE. Just because somehow had warped views in their past, DOESN’T mean they are incapable of changing. Likewise, Hermione is fully capable of forgiveness and understanding. If Draco was sincere, I see zero reason why, if written well, Dramione couldn’t happen.
