'Cause I carried on like the wayward son

22, He/They, Fruity, Traumatized

When I found out Paramount+ was removing Star Trek: Prodigy I bought all 20 episodes of S1 from Amazon Video since that was the only way for me to watch all 20 at the time. On 6/27, I lost access to episodes 10-20. Amazon has done what they can, which isn't much.

All 20 were accessible when I paid for all 20. The full season is what I was buying. Now, I only have access to 9 of the episodes.

What is the point of buying digital content if they're just going to steal it back from you afterwards?! Is this not false advertisement?

Seems appropriate

People don’t seem to realize this. Digital purchases are great until the seller no longer has the rights to the media and suddenly its not yours anymore

fun fact: basically every mod on r/legaladvice is a cop. if you see a bunch of comments in a row that have been deleted for “offering bad advice”, you can replace “reddit” in the url with “ceddit” to see the same page with all the deleted comments still there, and roughly half the time the “"bad advice”“ is literally anything that suggests that maybe OP shouldn’t trust the cops

in this thread, the OP talks about how a local cop in their small town in Ohio is stalking him and, in particular, his fiancée, to the point that they’re afraid to leave their home.

A lot of the deleted comments are recommending cameras on the house and the cars

a lot more of them are recommending OP file a complaint, and refuse to leave until he gets the forms he needs

and a few are discussing the way small-town cops work with little to no oversight, and that it might be good to talk to someone higher up the chain.

none of these comments needed to be deleted. none of these comments are harmful or malicious in anyway. All of these comments are helping OP learn and exercise his rights as a citizen, and all of them were deleted. What all the comments have in common is that it would cause the cop to face any kind of consequences for behavior that, were a civilian doing it, would be illegal.

hey if you find yourself trying to answer someone in this situation and the mods aren’t letting you, please DM the OP. worst case scenario they just ignore you but I’ve messaged a lot of people privately on Reddit when the mods were trying to get them killed and it was literally always the right call

omg i told a million times just bc the amulet glows a bright pulsating red every time i'm about to commit acts of great evil doesn't mean the amulet is *driving* me to evil. it just gets excited is all

it's always "take off the amulet it's cursed" and "cast it into the flames before corrupts your soul" and never "woah cool amulet where did you get it" or "i like your amulet it looks nice on you"

yeah your boyfriend’s a stag now. yeah he accidentally saw diana bathing and she turned him into an animal so he can’t tell anyone what he’s seen. he’s still the same guy mentally though. oh look his dogs are running up to him. maybe they’ll recognize him that’ll make him feel better

For years I would look at posts and questionnaires about neurodivergence that takes about being so focused on something that you forgot to eat and be like, "Couldn't be me. Being hungry is so uncomfortable! Your stomach is growling and cramping? How do you ignore that?"

Then someone informed me that neurotypical people have a whole bunch of "hungry" sensations before they get to that point.....

They what

Yeah, I don't get it either, but apparently this is a Whole Thing.... Like they somehow detect blood sugar dropping and go, "Ooh, time for lil snack!"

See also: there is a feeling of "oh, I need to pee" that happens before "fidgeting around in my seat to finish this thing before running to the bathroom"

I read this and was like, "this can't be real" and then I looked for sources and like--

"This can be very harmful for neurodivergent people, as many neurodivergent people struggle to feel internal cues and bodily sensations, including hunger and fullness. An emphasis on “only eating when hungry” can result in neurodivergent people delaying eating until they are so hungry that they are shaky, highly irritable, or even on the verge of passing out. A focus on “stopping when full” may cause neurodivergent people to overthink every bite they take and scrutinize whether they are truly hungry or truly full.  To modify Intuitive Eating for neurodivergent people, it may be important to focus on eating enough and eating consistently throughout the day, rather than eating according to one’s hunger and fullness cues. Neurodivergent people may need more of a structured meal and snack schedule than neurotypical folks in recovery, as well as some guidelines around a minimum amount of food. This does not make their eating less intuitive or their recovery less real - it is an important way of honouring their body’s needs and unique ways of functioning."

what the fuck

Triple A game devs really out there showing their asses, huh?

"BaLdUr'S gAtE 3 sHoUlDn'T bE tHe StAnDaRd"

And why the hell not? Why shouldn't players expect more than half-finished, bug-filled games with tons of microtransactions? Why should they settle for playing regurgitated copies of whatever games have been popular for the past ten years when they could be playing games that the devs were actually passionate about making?

When you have access to a bigger budget and more resources than Larian did when they made BG3, what's your excuse for shipping a broken, half-assed mess of a game?

one time in my last job a woman came up to the register explaining that when she bought stuff a day prior the clerk forgot to scan a pair of socks worth less than €2 and it was only right for her to bring it back to the store and pay for it proper. unfortunately my manager was directly next to me at the time and took over the register to handle this serious issue. the receipt she had brought with her said which register performed the previous transaction that forgot the socks and the manager could find out who was running that till on that day. poor dude had a manager yell at him for a half hour about how much of an incompetent fuck up he was, he left the job immediately after but i couldnt tell you if he quit or was fired

i think about this moment a lot. the customer seemed like a sweet woman with only good intentions and when she paid for the socks she had a look on her face that said "i feel good because i did the right thing". and a guy lost his job because of a pair of socks. if shit like this ever happens to you and a clerk forgets to scan an item just think of it as a small blessing or that you had good luck or something. keep it.

it’s covered in the fucking ooze!!

that post that's like "i would let doctor house commit medical malpractice on me because at least he would be taking my undiagnosable illness seriously and he gets his patients results even if he does it in a fucked up way so i don't care" is understandable like YEAH being chronically ill and dismissed by doctors is excruciating and the system is pretty broken, and yes i love the show too, but i do have to tell you that in real life cowboy doctors who Play By Their Own Rules are killing people. literally many such cases. the things that gregory house specifically does would absolutely kill people. cannot believe i have to say this but television is not real life.

it works for house because house md is a teevee show but the vast majority of the things he does on the show are simply not how anything works, like, biologically, like it's not bureaucracy that's keeping those kinds of magical results from patients, they literally just make it up for the show for dramatic effect. if you tried that shit in real life patients would be dropping like flies (also they do literally kill patients on the show???)

like the solution to how broken and fucked up the medical system is should not be "one (1) wildcard doctor who will Do Whatever It Takes" it's literally boring mundane shit, it's just the same systemic changes people are actually fighting for right now every day.

and i know that's not as satisfying an answer for individual patients trying to navigate the system and find the diagnoses and treatments that no one is giving them, but i CANNOT stress enough that real life gregory house pulling house md antics is absolutely for sure no question killing dozens of patients. and if you were lucky enough to get in to see him because he found your case Interesting Enough (he canonically only sees like a patient a week and refuses to do clinic hours because he has no respect for people with illnesses and pain that he finds boring and ordinary??), if he did actually deign to see you you'd be literally maimed or dead lol

sorry to be a buzzkill or whatever i know that original post is probably partially a joke and not meant to be taken seriously in a literal sense but from the number of times i've seen it on my dash and glancing through the notes it does seem like people ARE taking it seriously in a literal sense and i truly cannot express enough to you that you should not be trusting a wildcard cowboy doctor who hates being subject to any rules or oversight but promises results through really bizarre untested methods.

because those people exist and patients do trust them for exactly those same reasons, because they haven't gotten answers from anyone else and have also lost trust in the medical establishment, and then those patients die. or throw a bunch of money at those doctors and don't get anything in return because, well, in real life none of that shit is how anything works.

literally guys this is how medical grifting happens PLEASE don't get medical grifted. "all medicine is malpractice/grift, i'll take my chances with doctor house" no trust me you do not want to do that i cannot express to you how much you should not do that

masks and helmets that hides someone's face in such a way that they become the face themselves my beloved

these are all creatures to me

Angel of War, angular and strange, gleaming silver and gold, Angel of Wonder, pure and one-eyed, looking to stars new and old, Angel of Harvest, simple and hidden, bring nature's sweetness to all, Angel of Health, mysterious and fine, beacon when life starts to fall, Angel of the Deep, crooked and cage-like, guide us across the sea, Angel of Solace, protect us from evil, lead us to where we are free.

(image description:) a phrase - angels of - followed by bright-on-black drawings of helmet-covered faces of: a knight captioned as war, an astronaut captioned as wonder, a medieval beekeeper captioned as harvest, a plague doctor captioned as health, an old-fashined diver captioned as the deep, a gasmasked person captioned as solace (/end description)

a quick fanart to the concept; do you think a motorcyclist and a person in a surgical mask and cap may join these ranks?

If you had shown me this site in 2005 I would have asked you if had checked your virus software lately, because this looks like a bad one. I would have clicked away so fast it would give you whiplash. Looking at these sites now, I have to convince myself that they aren't virus laden sites and fight against the pavlovian urge to just navigate away.

I navigate away anyways because fuck them, there's usually a better site (though they are dwindling quickly). I still can't get over how the internet "as intended" today looks like a malware ridden fever dream from 20 years ago. This is every story I've ever read about an empire that used to be great and has now fallen into turmoil.

Beloveds, there is a wonderful website that gets rid of all that crap<3

OOOOH.
