“To be one someday”

People will spend hours watching "ending explained" videos and reading about how Ed, Edd, n Eddy is set in purgatory or some such barmy nonsense, but the moment you tell them a piece of media was motivated by racism or corporate interest in affecting public opinion or the Pentagon's funding suddenly you're reading too much into it.

If you didn’t watch this show as a kid, your childhood sucked. Prepare your social game because it’s absolute magic—strangers love it!

You can get it HERE!

There are so many unintended consequences to well-intentioned actions. It feels like a game you can’t win.

#CHIDI WAS RIGHT

The Good Place really went with making their new Point ‘there is no ethical consumption under capitalism’ and I respect that

And then went on to say “blaming individuals for all of this is absurd and evil, as is locking them up for punishment instead of rehabilitation” and I respect that

Also, “consequentialism is a fundamentally flawed branch of ethics”

what if i wrote you a letter that said “I am longing to be with you, and by the sea, where we can talk together freely and build our castles in the air” and we were both girls

This, also keep in mind that the “American cowboy” has been exaggerated greatly by Hollywood and popular myth - it was really only a twenty/thirty year period in the mid-19th century that essentially ended around the American civil war when barbed wire was introduced and eliminated the need for them.

If you’re ever in Denver, check out the Black American West Museum. Lots of photos, artifacts, etc.

John Wayne’s character in The Searchers was based on a black man named Britt Johnson.

What does it take to teach a bee to use tools? A little time, a good teacher and an enticing incentive. Read more here: http://to.pbs.org/2mpRUAz

“Friend? Friend push ball? I push ball. I do good.”

Bees.  Smart enough to push a ball, not smart enough to not be fooled by a stick masquerading as a bee.

maybe they know and they’re just being polite

Other dimensional beings are undoubtedly amazed at what human beings will accept as human beings too. “But it’s just a stick with a person on it.”

NEIL WHY. WHY WOULD YOU SAY THAT.

This turns up on my dashboard. And I read it and am impressed that someone writes exactly the post that I’d write, without actually reading the name of the person who posted it.

And then I’m puzzled at all the Neil Why’s, and realise that this was me in the Wayback Long-ago.

At least I’m consistent.

And, I should point out, we are no closer to being able to spot the extra-dimensional stick “people” who move unobserved among us.

I was at a concert with my sister but she saw her friends and left me alone to go hang out with them. I ended up talking to the people next to me because I was bored and I exchanged numbers with a guy my age and he said, “Here’s my number. Text me when you wake up, okay? We’ll talk when we’re awake!” and I put his number in my notes app. I was very disappointed I didn’t have it there when I woke up.

“You are mysterious. I love you. You’re beautiful, intelligent, and virtuous, and that’s the rarest known combination.”
